Our oldest son has started college and is living in the dorms. The last time we went to visit, I noticed that he was eating tons of noodle soups. My wife decided that we should get him a small deep freezer and prep him some meals. So I got the vacuum sealer to help with the prepping.The vacuum machine works well with both dry or wet items. There was a bit of a learning curve, but it is easy to use. We purchased rolls to make our own bags for different sized meals. The machine works well to seal both ends. The suction of each bag is very noticeable, as we reopen the bag to heat the food you hear the air being sucked in. As for the size of the machine, even thou the machine is wide it is still small enough to store in any little corner. We highly recommend wither for food storage or just to keep items dry.

Love this thing and have wanted one for quite a while now. I did have to watch a couple videos on how to properly use it, but figured it out pretty quick. I really like that this is a whole kit. The lids and jars seal really nicely with the included hose and silicone attachment. I haven't tried or probably never will try the canning attachment but it is there if you need it.The unit will seal and vacuum out the bags pretty quickly though sealing does take some time. I noticed that its able to suck the bag down in about 6-8 seconds but then kicks over to a 35 second timer for sealing. It also says to wait 1 minutes to close again after sealing, I assume to protect the seal ring on the unit.If you bought the roll like you can get at walmart, there is a cutter on top that you can use to cut the bag to the size you need, and a dedicated seal button that just heat seals the bottom of the bag and then you can use it like normal to seal food.All in all, really pleased with this set and highly recommend it.

Works but cheaply made. Some decisions in life are regrettable, and this is one.

I've wanted to get a vacuum sealer for a long time and this seemed like a good opportunity.It comes with a starter pack of vacuum seal bags (I wish there had been more), plus canisters and tube accessories for evacuating those too.I don't use the canisters much; tried it with some coffee beans, but it was annoying to get the unit out and re-seal the canister every day after taking some out.At this time I just don't have the use case for them as much as I do simply sealing smaller things (like a chicken breast) in bags. It's great for marinades - I can set up a series of cuts of meat in marinades and seal them and toss them in the fridge to sit all week, and there's something ready for the grill on any day we feel like it.I don't have any experience with similar devices to compare against, but I can say objectively that it vacuum packs things pretty well. There's a bit of a learning curve, but once you understand which preset options to use for different scenarios, you're good. I haven't had any issues with the quality of the seal.The way the device locks the lid down for use requires you to press somewhat forcefully on the two sides at the same time - and you need to make sure they both click - but it's important not to leave it locked when not in use, because the gasket providing the seal for the suction action will compress and degrade.It even comes with a little folded cardboard spacer which it says to leave inside the unit during storage, to prevent the gaskets from compressing against each other simply from the weight of the lid.I find it a little annoying to have to keep track of this dinky cardboard piece whenever I use the device, so that I can make sure to replace it when I'm done, but I suppose it's more sustainable than having made the spacer out of plastic or foam rubber or something.I don't really have counter space to tuck it away on the side somewhere but leave it "out"; I need to shove it into one of the lower cupboards where we keep the mixers and larger stockpots and the like. It doesn't fit really well, because of its length, so it sits awkwardly there and sometimes falls over. Your experience will vary depending on how you can store it.So, I don't know how this unit compares against any others on the market, but it seems like it'll service the need for convenient vacuum-sealing fairly well, and it's worth considering if you find it on sale.Having used it for only a couple of months, I still have no sense of its durability or functional longevity.(If it breaks down too quickly, I'll update my review & rating accordingly.)

I’ve been using this vacuum sealer for a few weeks now, and I’m kind of wondering what took me so long. It’s made food storage way easier, and I’m tossing out way less than I used to. No more freezer-burned steaks getting the sad goodbye.I haven’t tried the mason jar attachment yet—it’s still waiting for its moment—but I plan to bust it out when pickle season hits. For now, I’ve been sealing everything from leftovers to naan bread (which freezes like a dream in vacuum bags). I’ve even started buying in bulk more often because I know it’ll last. Frozen meats, veggies, bread - it all stays fresh longer, and that’s helping me stretch the grocery budget.It’s easy to use, the presets make sense, and the containers it comes with are solid for keeping snacks and batch-prepped meals organized. It’s not flashy, but it’s become one of those kitchen tools I reach for without thinking. Anything that keeps me from throwing money in the trash is a win.Oh, one other thing - I’m using these to freeze snacks for road trips. It is helping me not spend so much when at rest stop. But it is also helping me create snack packs of my own that can be used during different parts of the trip.

This is not my first vacuum sealer. I had a major name sealer which had stopped sucking, the heat seal still worked but the vacuum stopped vacuuming. So when this showed up in my feed, I thought I'd give it a look. The price point was less than what I've paid for the previous sealers so that was a plus. It also came with 3 square canisters, I haven't had a chance to test them out yet, but I'm sure I will soon. The accessory hose looks like it will be compatible with the accessories I have from my previous system.I've had no issues with it vacuuming and sealing. It's pretty simple - slide the bag under the guides on the drip tray on the inside, clip the lid shut, and then select if you want "gentle" or "normal" and press "dry" or "moist" to start the vacuum/seal cycle.But how strong is the vacuum? Does it crush it like Quint? Ok, it's not a Narragansett beer can, but this unit does crush the can!
