I have installed four of these mini subwoofer boxes and so far this one is probably the best bang for your buck. I suppose it is not my favorite, though I am quite pleased with it. Due to its cost to performance ratio it’s probably the one I would buy again if needed. It has more power than the others… probably not 1200 watts but it definitely hits the hardest of the four. It does not light up until the amp powers on. The lights on the older styles are a well known battery drain issue with, which they apparently fixed with this model. The installation kit that is included with this unit is by far the best of the ones I’ve installed. In fact it’s the only kit I actually used anything from since the others were so bad. The included line converter has a very slow to react (but functional) amp trigger feature and the adjustment knobs work. The RCA cable and fuse holder are pretty nice quality as well. The only things that I didn’t use from the kit were the 14 gauge CCA power cables and the gold colored steel terminals. I recommend passing on those but everything else was fine. It did draw the highest-tested amperage, peaking around 7.5 amps on hard hits. It also produced the most heat of the four. This one got hot enough on the underside of the lower left corner that it was uncomfortable to touch. Keep in mind that was while being heavily pushed during testing only.I have this installed with only a few strips of aggressive hook/loop type tape pushed into my trunk liner. I used 12 gauge copper wire run straight to the battery for power with the supplied fuse holder and 60A AGU fuse. I will likely replace it at some point since I hate those fuses and 60A is too big anyways.The Good:Sounds good for what it is and hits hardDecent priceSomewhat useable installation kitVery compact and easy to install in just about any applicationThe not as good:Supplied power cables are a jokeUses some amps and can get a bit warmRemote volume knob is cheapThe lights are still a nuisance and require an app to control. Works in a 2021 Subaru Impreza Base with an Add an Amplifier Adapter Harness ($15 on Amazon). Plug and play (even though it took me all day — was my first sub/amp install).Firstly, the wiring kit included in all of these cheap powered subs should be instantly thrown away. The power and ground cable isn’t even 16 gauge. The wire lugs feel like they’re stamped out of a soda can. Serious safety concerns there.VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE THE INCLUDED INLINE FUSE. The included AGU inline fuse is rated for 60amps. The included power wire is not even 16ga. That 60amp fuse would NEVER do its job, which could be very dangerous. If you’re going to purchase any variation of this powered sub, just invest in 8ga wire and a MANL 40 or 50 amp inline fuse. Your insurance company will thank me later.Keep in mind that you will need to (or certainly should) purchase a new wiring kit before you install this subwoofer. In my opinion: purchase at least 8ga CCA power & ground wire, solid copper battery lugs, 8ga ferrules, heat shrink, and a 40 or 50 amp inline MANL fuse. That will give you room to upgrade in the future, and is overkill - but safe - for this powered subwoofer.The subwoofer itself, I’m pretty happy with. It’s my first subwoofer, so I wasn’t expecting anything window shaking. It definitely adds a LOT of bass to the almost nonexistent bass that comes stock in my Subaru. For the price, it’s pretty cool. You’re not going to be impressing anyone outside but it does vibrate the passenger seat quite a bit. It’s built out of what I assume is aluminum, and actually feels very robust.Overall, it’s a fun subwoofer. Nothing earth-shattering, and the included wire kit is an absolute joke, but the sub itself feels well built and provides enough bass to impress me.
