Recovering from “nerve-sparing robotic” prostate surgery done 11-months ago at MD Anderson. Immediately after surgery, I used the full men’s diapers. After a month or two of doing 100 or so kegel excercises a day, I got out of the diapers and converted to heavy pads. The pads were great and saved me a lot of embarrassment and were so much more comfortable than the diapers. I kept doing my kegel exercises and converted to these shields 2 months ago. I loved them. They were GREAT. I kept doing my Kegels and now I do not wear anything. No pads at all!!!These light pads were a godsend. It is like I was not wearing anything. I could wear “protection” but not really be aware of it.I bought several types of light protection on the same day once I was ready to convert to a lighter pad. These were the best designed for me. I really like the good solid glue that they use so the pad stays in place. It is VERY thin and I often had to feel myself twice to make sure I have not forgotten to put one on!! This are not right for you unless you only have a few drops of urine a day or one small spurt!!!When I go out for a business meeting, I often tuck one in my back pocket but other than that, they stay in the bathroom cabinets.WITH REGARD TO KEGELS: I think statistics say most men (60+%) fail to do their Kegel excercises regularly and, as a result, remain incontinent for years. I saw myself fall into the same trap. I got into a routine where I stopped doing them and my incontience persisted. So to help me remember, I downloaded an app on my IPHONE called CHIME from the App Store. I set it to chime every hour, on the hour. This chime would call me to action. I would then pick up my IPhone and set it to the STOPWATCH function, sit on my couch and do the excercises for an hour every morning while catching up on the news and then I would do 5-15 minutes of Kegels every hour when I heard the chime. (I have the app set to chime every hr from 9am to 9pm.) I would watch the news while holding the IPHONE stopwatch prominently in my field of view. I would hold the muscles tight for 10 sec, then release for 10 sec, then repeat, repeat, repeat for 30-min to 1-hr. I would also do them numerous times thruout the day.When driving, I would also be doing Kegels while at red lights. I used the redlight as a clue to do a few excercises. This CHIME app reminder gave me rapid progress wrt the incontinence. My pelvic flood muscles would sometimes be sore. After a while, I started ignoring the chime and fell back into old patterns of no Kegels. So I set the CHIME app to announce the actual hour, “one o’clock, two o’clock, etc. That caught my attention and I was more consistent. Today, I do not wear any pads at all! Good luck out there. Now, if prostate cancer was just that easy to fix...

I had major surgery about a year ago - causing leakage problems. My urologist said that this problem would eventually subside between one and two years. So, I invested in Depends Shields to avoid any concerns or embarrassment. It has been over a year and I am at the point where I will no longer need to wear this product and my main reason for writing this review is that through this entire deal, these shields worked PERFECTLY! No issues, no feeling of bulkiness, complete absorbency, etc. A little pricey - but definitely worth it.

Perfect light absorbency use. He likes that they don't show and he's comfortable in his appearance and aren't bulky. He can adjust the location to work best for his needs and his underwear. Good quality item that boosts confidence. Easy to carry with him and easy to dispose of.

I want to be clear that this review is for Depends Shields for Men, Light Absorbency, NOT Depends Shields for Men, Maximum Absorbency. These are truly just for light dribbles and I give them 4 stars for effectiveness in that area. When I asked at the Amazon site how much liquid volume the Light Absorbency shields would absorb, one person responded that one shield will hold up to 9 ounces. That may be true to the Maximum Absorbency but is definitely not true for the light shields. These are useful for around the house and yard, where bathroom is close at hand--and to handle post urination dribbles. For true security protection, my husband uses the Maximum Absorbency shields, especially when we are away from the house on errands or traveling.Light Absorbency shields are packaged differently than Maximum Absorbency shields. Maximum Absorbency shields come in a non-woven fabric pouch that must be torn open. The Light Absorbency shields are packaged in plastic and the packaging is attached to the protective strip on the shield and it strikes me as poor design and difficult to handle. Different reviewers rate this differently.Since there are different reasons for incontinence, including neuromuscular diseases and movement disorders, manual dexterity may be compromised for some users, making it difficult to open and place these products. I now put pads in briefs--in effect pre-load them for my husband--and my husband is able to get the briefs on without any problem. Some briefs are pre-loaded with light absorbency shields--some with maximum absorbency--and the briefs are in different drawers in the bathroom he uses so he can choose the appropriate absorbency for the day. Since he finds both the Light Absorbency and Maximum Absorbency Depends shields very comfortable, we may soon go to using only the Depends Maximum Absorbency.

Great comfortable material and light.

Good product, works well, I have tried putting it in my underwear both directions, they both work fine. These are good for minor dribbles as you get older to avoid urine smell in your underwear and also it leaking into your pants. Great while traveling too, because it keeps things cleaner. Would recommend and have been using them now over a year.

My husband had prostate cancer and needed to have his prostate removed. After surgery, he had to regain control of his bladder. These pads are just what he needed to help prevent embarrassing moments. He places a pad inside his boxer shorts. They adhere very well and are quite absorbent. These are shields so they aren't meant to be used for total incontinence, only small dribbles and leaks. He tells me they're very comfortable and that he hardly knows they're there. Definitely recommend!

Perfect for drips and piddles.

Son delgados, no abarcan mucha superficie sirven para pequeñas gotitas que llegare salir o para otros fluidos previos, no estiran son planos, pero se amoldan bien a la ropa y a la anatomía, NO se remarcan aunque traigas pants.No se pueden usar en bóxer tradicional; en bikini o boxer corto quedan muy bien y siento que protegen más.Por lo mismo delgado absorben el liquido, pero no lo gelatinizan inmediatamente como otros, y durante uno o dos minutos se llega a sentir un poco húmedo, pero después lo absorbe y se te olvida que lo traes puesto, no incomodan cuando te sientas, a veces cuando no se colocó bien o quedó muy abajo llegan a molestar, NO acaloran. Son Recomendables para proteger tu ropa cuando tomas medicamentos que pintan o para ligeras gotas que quedan después de pasar al baño o ligeros flujos emitidos. El adhesivo es fuerte, no se mueven, hasta haciendo deporte están siempre en su lugar, lo malo es que desgasta la ropa. Lo usé las 24 horas y NO se desbarató con el calor, como otros que el algodón se mueve del lugar o después de 12 horas se empieza a fragmentar. RecomendablesAdquirí otro juego de 174, ya que la seguridad que estos protectores proporcionan al ser delgados y para muy ligeros flujos es buena y no acaloran mucho, cuando ha hecho calor he puesto un poco de talco en la parte más delgada por el sudor provocando que a veces irrite por la humedad.
