Our birds love it. No mess.

I am about to order this for the 15th time! I live in Las Vegas and unfortunately there is not alot of resources for our birds here in the winter months. This seed has been a lifesaver for my little friends in the back yard. It is a NO WASTE seed and does not have sunflower seeds in the shell! This means that there are no black seed shell droppings all over the place. Also I have noticed that there are NO sunflower plants popping up all over the place because any excess seed that drops is eaten by the birds on the ground. I use this in a tubular feeder with six feeding slots and it is perfect for the smaller birds like sparrows and finches. The larger birds in this area are unfortunately pigeons who really go to town on the seeds that spill to the ground. It is a very high quality food. I recommend that you pour the seed into a large plastic container with a lid to prevent any rodents for getting into this. I have not had a problem with bugs or rodents (or squirrels). When my feeder is empty, the birds come looking for me to feed them I go through an entire tube of food in ONE day - so be prepared for a daily bird frenzy. Using this consistently will draw birds to your yard. We really enjoy watching the fiesta at the feeder every day!

I've been feeding birds with this product for three mos. They happily empty the feeder daily.This month I ran out so I bought two small seed bags at my local grocery store as I waited for my next Amazon delivery.My birds would not touch the local brand seed -- not at all.Finally, my next Kaytee seed delivery arrived. I sat the bag on my porch, thinking I would try blending it with the untouched seed. The birds would not have it!The next day I found the Kaytee bird seed bag torn open and seeds spilled all over my porch. The local disliked seed bag remained upright and untouched. I threw it out.Apparently, my birds, squirrels and the occasional opossum are completely sold on this Kaytee seed.Full star rating based on the clear preferences of my neighborhood wildlife!

I put this in my first-ever bird feeder and we hung it about 13 feet from our house. By the third day, every little yellow bird in our county was in my back yard! I quickly bought another bag, and within five days, both 20 lb bags had been devoured!We had such a gathering of different species all getting along well. They were so fun to watch, I just hope we can afford to support them in the new lifestyle they are getting accustomed to.They love this feed, and of course they make a horrible mess. Granted, the mess isn't shells and trash bits, it's food, and some of the larger birds eat it off the ground. I'm just hoping we don't attract rats & mice.‐‐-----------Update 8/20/24Lowering to four stars.All my tweeters tend to pick out what they like and in the process a lot of bits fall to the ground. I noticed an odd, new grass growing below the feeder and realized the corn in this mix was sprouting! I hadn't noticed it before, but now I see there is a LOT of corn in it. I think I'll try other formulas instead.

I love this blend! I think I'm on my 7th or 8th bag now. I sprinkle bird seed on my back patio each morning and I hated how other brands left a mess. These leave very little mess behind and the little birdies love it, they line up every morning waiting for me to sprinkle out the bird seed!

Best bird food on the market, I can’t keep some of my feeders full, they love it so much! Surprisingly, the squirrels don’t go bonkers for it but I have tons of songbirds in the Carolinas and they LOVE this food especially blue birds and cardinals but I also get a variety of finches and even woodpeckers.

My fly-in visitors are in love with Kaytee Wild Bird Ultimate No Mess Birdseed. I have only fed with birdseed columns in the past, but watching the poor ground feeding mourning doves scrounge around for what little debris there was finally broke my heart. Our yard is now mourning dove central! Of course, all the regulars are still regulars, but there are some newcomers, too. This huskless birdseed is high on the avian menu and clean-up is so much easier for me. I can’t wait to see the next generation of mourning doves being introduced to our “dining” establishment.

Not only is this product nonrefundable, but for some reason, the birds where I live here in California, don’t eat it. This is the 3rd day since I filled the feeders that are normally trafficked regularly by several different types of birds with the Bird feed that I’ve purchased from a different company and it’s normally active. the problem… I have no idea why the birds show up they look at the new birdseed then they leave. I’ve even had birds scavenge on the floor for the old birdseed or bugs rather than eat, the new birdseed . I’ve added photos to show the bird eating everything but the birdseed that’s in the feeder. I wanted to test the theory and see which one is better so I originally had put the old bird seed in the catch tray under the large birdfeeder and put the new birdseed inside the birdfeeder itself, and then I filled the small birdfeeder next to it as well and you look in the video they go to the old birdseed so the next day I decided to take out the old birdseed and leave the new seed and now there’s no traffic whatsoever to the birdfeeders so I’m highly disappointed . The reason why I originally got this birdseed was because of the no mess and if you look underneath my birdfeeders, you will see everything that comes in the old package of bird food is growing underneath my bird feeders so I was trying to stopped that from happening by getting “no waste” but apparently the whole bag is a waste for me…. anyway I’m not saying the product is bad. I’m saying i had no luck. I am a Sacramento county girl in California so I really shouldn’t have an issue here with birdseed since we have a huge variety of birds here.. just remember, there’s no refunds. The size was great but if they don’t eat it, there’s a lot of wasted food since I can’t get a refund. I’m gonna see if I can plant the seeds if they don’t grow that explains why the birds won’t eat it.. ( that’s what I think) for the record I even tried to change the small feeder out with a bigger one in hopes they will at least try the seeds if they had easier access to them , but in the photos, you still see no birds bothered. I would’ve took more videos, but I’m only allowed to upload one video. I even added a photo of the birdseed, I normally used, and that was left in the catch tray for my small experiment.
