I’ve been using the for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid upgrade if you care about water quality and reducing plastic use.First, the filtration system is impressive. It goes beyond basic pitchers by removing not just chlorine and odors, but also heavy metals, microplastics, and even bacteria and parasites, which is rare for this type of product. The taste difference is noticeable right away, especially if your tap water has a strong smell or aftertaste.I also really appreciate the glass design. It feels much cleaner and safer compared to plastic pitchers, and it looks great on the counter. The silicone base is a nice touch for stability and protection.Now, let’s be honest about the downsides. The filtration process is slow. You’ll need some patience, especially if you’re used to faster pitchers.Maintenance is another thing to consider. The filters need regular replacement, and cleaning requires a bit more attention than simpler models.Overall, if your priority is cleaner, safer water and reducing exposure to contaminants, this pitcher is worth it. Just don’t expect speed or convenience to be its strongest features.

These folks know what they are doing and do it very well. It's a lovely product, sturdy, easy to use, and what a difference it makes! Water tastes good, much less residue in the electric kettle, and their portable and travel products are just as good. Really thoughtful company that also does good in the world.

This LifeStraw 7 cup pitcher is super streamlined and attractive! The water tastes cleaner! But it does have several design quirks that I hope will be fixed in future models. This is just so nice looking and feels much higher quality than the competition - we have mostly used Brita pitchers in the past and this feels much nicer in terms of materials. I was looking for a glass pitcher without any plastic, and could not find something that was completely plastic free, but at least the body of this one is glass, with a silicone outer (removable) base. The double filter is pretty cool and they say it removes microplastics plus lead and bacteria, which I have not seen in other filters! Nice. I was really excited about that and I can actually taste a pretty noticeable difference in the taste of this water vs a Brita lead reducing filter pitcher. The main downfall of this lovely pitcher is how unbelievably slow the filter is...the first use and then following 3-4 uses were painfully slow, it took literally all day to filter one batch (the first batch) of water (not a whole pitcher full, just one small reservoir full). I was shocked. This speed has improved, but is still really slow compared to the Brita. Like really slow. Another design flaw is the location of the handle - I love that it is glass, but the handle is up really high on the body of the pitcher and when you have this half full or more, the handle is hard to hold and the pitcher is hard to tilt because of the weight. Speaking of which, the weight of this pitcher will be a major challenge for some because of the glass--when it is full, it weighs over 8 lbs. The last thing to know / not great feature is that the reservoir that you fill to filter the water is so small (I totally understand why, design-wise, it could not really be any bigger) that you have to fill it up SO, so many times to get a full pitcher. My goal in buying this was to have one pitcher to use for the day for myself so I would know how much water I am drinking in a day and then fill it up at night. Well I don't have that much time on my hands at night to refill the reservoir so many times, since it also takes so long to filter. I'm including a picture of the pitcher when it is pretty full and with this amount of water, the entire thing weighs 7 lbs 9 oz. Another picture to show the size difference. Overall I am still happy with this purchase! Just wish the filter were faster and reservoir were larger.

Well... I bought this pitcher because our city recently upped the amount of "disinfectant" it's putting into the tap water and even filtered through our PUR faucet mount filters, it was horrible to drink - like burning the back of my mouth horrible. (I'm super sensitive to this sort of thing - for reference I can't stand bottled water because it tastes like plastic to me, so take these comments with a grain of salt.) I did some research and discovered that our city uses chloramine instead of just chlorine - it's a combination of chlorine and ammonia and it's much more difficult to filter out. Apparently it needs much more time in contact with the carbon to get the stuff out, and since you can't run water through a faucet mount filter more than once, I got this pitcher to try to to make the filtered tap water palatable.So the way we're using this is that I take water filtered through the PUR filter and run it through this pitcher. If I run it through once, I can still taste the disinfectant a bit, but if I run it through twice it tastes clean. That may say more about chloramine and my sensitivity to it than it does about this pitcher though.The comments about the slowness of this thing are true. It has gotten a bit better now that I've run about a dozen cycles through it, but it still takes 15-20 minutes to filter one batch - one batch is NOT a full pitcher, it's more like 16 ounces. I mean, I guess the micro-filter makes it slow, so I'm willing to put up with that, but it's making it really difficult to filter enough water to cook. Plus, we have a cat with kidney disease, and he wasn't liking the horrible tasting water either, so we have to filter water to keep his water dishes full.I haven't managed to get the thing very full before we needed to use the water, and I actually don't plan to because here's the deal - while the pitcher itself is glass, the filter housing thing in the middle is plastic - so if you fill it with more than 16-20 ounces of water, your water is still going to be sitting in contact with plastic! I mean it's great that the filter removes micro-plastics, but I'm not sure what good it does if the water is just going to sit in contact with more plastic! I guess I foolishly assumed that the filter was housed in glass - wrong! This seems like a major design flaw for something that's marketed as a way to remove micro-plastics.And the final problem is that the thing is 11.5 inches tall, and the tallest our refrigerator shelves can accommodate is 11 inches. It won't fit in the door either - it's 6 inches in diameter at the bottom which is about half an inch too big to fit in the door. We might be able to re-arrange the shelves, but I'm not sure it's worth it as I think we'll probably be investigating other types of filtration/purification systems.Sooo... it works, I guess. At least I've found a way to make palatable water for the time being, but the many hassles involved with using this thing mean that it's unlikely to be a permanent solution. Or maybe the city will turn down the level of disinfectant soon and it will all be a moot point!

I CAN taste the improved difference between our frig water filter and this one free of microplastics, etc. Perfect size for 2 people household and fits on frig door. I try to keep up with filling, since you can only refill it 10-12 oz at a time since new water has to go thru filter. It does filter pretty quick though. Since it’s glass, it’s a bit heavy to pick up when full. To get great tasting water, it’s worth it. Wish there was a better way to know when a new filter is needed beyond calculating cumulative usage.

I almost did not get this because of some of the negative reviews about how slow it filters and how easy the insert or pitcher would break on you. It is slow in the beginning, but once the filters are primed and soaked it filters faster. Don't expect to filter water in like a minute or two to drink right away. Let it filter and do it's thing! I have a separate 2 gal ice tea glass container with a spigot that I empty the water into once it filters.The one thing I do is I don't push the filter insert all the way down as it is a bit hard to pull out. You need to sort of rock it back and forth while pulling on it to come out. Don't hold it with one hand over the counter or else it will pop out and you will hit the counter and break the glass! Sit on the rug or couch and slowly pull and rock it back and forth with both hands to pull it out. You may also want to try injecting some water around the rim to help loosen it up. Do not use a screw driver to pry it up!The glass container is quite large and I just have the insert sitting on the rim as I don't push it all the way down. That way it gives me a little extra room for the water to filter and fill up. Also I can pull it out easily and hold it while I empty the water into my 2 gal container without the water in the filter spilling out. Once I do that I just top off the water filter so it's going at full capacity. Every time I go to the kitchen I just keep topping off the water in the filter. I have a separate water pitcher in the fridge filled as well as my 2 gal glass container filled and the filtered water pitcher ready to empty. It's a good quality filter and glass pitcher. It's says it filters the microplastics which is one of the main reasons I got this brand. The main filter will last about a year and the good thing is that when it needs replacing it will just stop filtering water so you don't need to remember. Just have a replacement filter ready. The main filter replacement after a year did not seem too expensive for how long it lasts. I did see other brands that were cheaper, but I don't know about their quality and don't want to take a chance!

It’s slow.. can’t be in a hurry, after all it’s filtering it cannot be rushed!The water to me tastes flat, guess it because it doesn’t have all those tasty chemicals in it.I do wonder how it filters micro plastics with a plastic filter….. I want to believe it!I still won’t drink my nasty apt water even filtered….. I’m running my bottled water through it. Shamefully not saving the planet….at least for now.

This water filter is fantastic! The water tastes so good (which is a big plus), and I’m no longer concerned about microplastics or chemicals. Plus, it’s easy to clean and use. However, I noticed it doesn’t hold a huge amount of water—you can’t fill it all the way to the top, at best halfway. So, you’ll need to refill it often or get the larger countertop version. It takes about 3-4 minutes for the entire water to filter into the pitcher. Also, if you buy the plastic pitcher, it tends to crack, so I highly recommend using the glass pitcher to avoid that. The plastic lid on top seems to be prone to cracking as well but only visible if pushed down, otherwise it’s not noticeable. But overall, the water quality is much better than many other brands I’ve tried so gave it a 4 star for the water quality.

Water tastes fresh and crisp due to filtration system, easy to use love that it’s a glass water pitcher.

It takes far too long for the water to filter through and it has to be done several times to fill up the jug; almost impossible to do in a day!Having said that, the water tastes good and feels smooth.

The membrane filter was defective, probably due to improper storage by the seller. The water should be filtered at a steady stream, not at a rate of 1 drop every 1-2 seconds.
