I picked this up mainly to hold a light for taking pictures of small products, and it has been amazing for that. The ball head lets me angle the light just about any way I need, whether I want it pointing down from above or coming in from the side. The build quality is excellent too. Everything feels solid and well made, from the legs to the center column to the quick release plate. It also comes with a holder for a cell phone, which is a nice bonus if you ever want to use your phone for video or photos.The height goes up to almost 71 inches, so you can get your camera or light pretty high if needed. It can hold up to about 17 and a half pounds, which is plenty for most cameras or a lightweight strobe. Even when I extend it all the way up, it stays steady. If you need a tripod that does double duty as a light stand, this one is a really good choice. Simple to use, sturdy, and does exactly what I need it to do.

This tripod is no exception. At around $75, the build quality here is honestly remarkable.Right out of the box, the tripod feels solid and well constructed. The aluminum legs are sturdy without being overly heavy, and the locks feel secure when adjusting the height. It extends tall enough for most shooting situations, but it also collapses down nicely for travel. The included carrying bag makes it easy to transport along with the rest of my gear.One feature I really appreciate is the versatility. The center column can tilt and rotate for overhead shots, which is incredibly useful for product photography, desk setups, and filming from above. The ball head is smooth and easy to adjust, and the quick release plate makes mounting and removing a camera fast and painless. The ability to convert it into a monopod is another nice bonus that adds even more flexibility.The included phone holder is also a great addition for anyone who records with a smartphone. It makes this tripod just as useful for mobile content creation as it is for DSLR or mirrorless cameras.This tripod delivers outstanding value. This is a very impressive tripod for the price. It's part of the Neewer Basics product line, which focuses on providing affordable items for entry-level and consumer photographers, and it is a great addition to the line. I have used it for a couple of photo shoots already, and it has done well. It has many great features beyond what you usually find on entry-level tripods.What I like about it:* It's sturdy. I have used it with my heaviest camera/lens combination, a Nikon D5 and a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 VR lens that weighs 5 lbs 13 ozs. (2.56 kg) with good results.* It's relatively light and portable and comes with a carry case.* The fit and finish is good, and the quality is high.* The tripod can be adjusted in many different ways. There are numbers on the rotation axes that indicate the degree of rotation. The angle of the legs can be changed easily for a wider or narrower stance.* I like the fact that with a lighter camera, I can extend an arm from the tripod head and aim the camera straight down or around a corner.* The head uses an ARCA plate, an industry standard) instead of a proprietary one. You can my many different plates to attach to the camera for different purposes.* You can remove one of the legs and use it as a monopod. That's a great idea. I shoot sports and this will come in handy with a long telephoto.* There's a hook at the bottom that you can hang something heavy from to stabilize the camera. There's also a cellphone mount that I haven't tried yet.There a few things that could be improved:* The stem between the mounting plate and the ball seems to be weak. When I put my heavy camera on the plate I have the tighten the ball a little high because the lens will sink a few degrees when I let go of it.* The plastic on the leg clamps does not seem to be so strong. I wonder how long they will last.* You raise the camera by turning a sleeve at the top of the legs and raising it by hand. The sleeve is hard to tighten and loosen and if you loosen it too much and aren't holding your camera, it will suddenly drop. I wish it had a crank like some tripods.Overall, this tripod offers a lot of features for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

This tripod is a great starter tripod! It is lightweight, easy to extend using snaps to extend each leg. The center column can be pivoted 90 degrees to enable easy to use top-down images (like for food photography or lay-flats).The tripod has impressive height, low weight, but also medium sturdiness. While the description indicates that this tripod supports cameras of 17lbs I really wouldn't trust it with that much weight. This is a compact tripod but I can't say it's the most sturdy of tripods. That said it has incredibly versatility and is an excellent tripod for those starting out! If you've just bought your first camera this is the tripod for you!

This tripod is so light and compact. I am enjoying it so much. It holds my camera which is fitted with a cage, a light, a microphone and a tamron 17-70mm lens. For the price, this is a great buy 👌🏾

for the price the build quality is not there. i wish its more sturdy and theres more angle
