Bought this and a 4k mini-led display that was half the cost but chose to keep this one because the colors and contrast are amazing. I avoided the OLED displays with matte finish as I read that it can detract from the pop in color and contrast that you get from OLED. Text is very clear with no fringing and the pixel density is fantastic at 4K. It comes with all of the ports you could need and it can keep my laptop charged through the USB-C port. The screen is thin and minimalist and the 27-inch size is perfect. I thought about going with 32 inches but I did not want to sacrifice pixel density. Refresh rate is great for 4k gaming and it is plenty bright for my needs (I only need 70% brightness). Glare is non-existent and I find it useable in brightly lit rooms. You certainly pay more for the QD-OLED but relative to other 4k OLED displays, this one was reasonably priced when on sale. I did a lot of research before buying and I am very pleased with the MPG 272URX.
TL;DR: Works perfectly as a gaming monitor and as a workstation monitor. OLED display is beautiful and super crisp. Plays nicely with macOS and Linux.I share this monitor between a Mac Studio M4 Max and a Kubuntu 25.10 Linux gaming machine. I have an AMD 9070XT and it works perfectly with DisplayPort 2.1. (HDMI is limited in Linux because of licensing). The Mac Studio connects to the monitor's USB-C port and that has also been solid. HDR is on for both OSs and (while HDR is on) I'm able to control the monitor's display perfectly fine from my keyboard. (You may need to create custom shortcuts for display brightness).I haven't experienced any flickering whatsoever from either computer while connected to this monitor. I will return and update my review if anything comes up. I like that the outer edges of the display are only a few millimeters thick. It makes it feel really premium. Overall a really solid monitor no matter what system you have. While I don't have any windows systems to test, I assume it will work perfectly fine.
I have to say this is the best monitor I ever had. I came from a LG ips monitor made in 2018. I was a bit skeptical about oled since I never owned one but im glad I bought it. The colors arnt saturated like a backlit display theyre vibrant and high Def. I mostly use it for gaming on 4k ultra on my pc. It was a toss up between this or Alienware but I have a msi psu for the pc and its holding up well so I figured id give this a try and im glad I did.
This monitor is gorgeous 😍, this is by far the best upgrade and worth every penny.
This is a really good monitor. The colors are very vibrant, and the deep blacks really show here. The size, resolution, and panel quality are all great. 240hz and .03 ms make this a very smooth experience for gaming and video. QD-OLED panel is great and I havent noticed any issues like flickering so far. Great purchase overall.
If this is premium, OLED technology is not ready for HDR. The brightness of this monitor pales in comparison to a 1000nits LCD. It claims HDR, but to get 400 nits to "look hdr" your normal image looks TOO DARK. Like "Is the back light on?" dark (wrong technology, I know). If you want black blacks, this is for you. If you care about ANYTHING ELSE (like a beautiful, bright image), forget this monitor. Sure, the image is 240FPS at 4k. But so what if it's dark? How to get the display to not look the WORST:If in SDR: Turn brightness of the monitor up to 100 in the monitor's settings. If in HDR: Turn on EOTF Boost. Download Win11's HDR calibration (published by Microsoft). Turn on HDR, follow the calibration, then in Windows HDR settings, turn "SDR Content Brightness" to 99.I wish I bought a mini-led LCD 4k HDR monitor.
I came from a 32" KTC 2K 1440p monitor and this MSI is a serious step up. Picture quality is crisp, colors are beautiful, setup was fairly painless, and overall viewing feels so much clearer (anyone who has cleaned their dirty glasses knows the feeling I'm talking about). I haven't really pushed it yet, but I can already tell this thing has plenty in the tank and it’s ready for whatever you throw at it. Excited to see what it’s capable of once I put some real hours on it!
El monitor es todo lo que esperaba. La calidad de imagen es increíble y ahora puedo disfrutar los juegos con un nivel de detalle y colores impresionantes. Muy satisfecho con la compra.
As a first-time PC builder, I wanted a monitor that would actually show off my new hardware. This monitor is incredible- the 4K detail is razor-sharp and the colors "pop" in a way my old laptop never could. The 240Hz refresh rate makes gameplay feel instant and buttery smooth compared to my old laptop. It’s a premium price, but the visual jump is worth every penny. The reasons why I chose this monitor:1. Future-Proofing: Most 27-inch OLEDs are only 1440p. This is 4K, which means it looks much sharper for text and work, and won't feel the need to upgrade for years.2. DisplayPort 2.1: Many 4k OLED monitors are still on older ports (DisplayPort 1.4). MSI included the latest tech, which matches perfectly with the high-end NVIDIA 50 series GPUs. This allows to achieve 4K at 240Hz without using DSC.3. Warranty: The 3-year burn-in warranty gives me the confidence while using OLED technology as one of the major drawbacks of OLED is the screen burn-in.4. Superb for gaming: With 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time it is perfect for competitive gaming, ensuring buttery smooth transitions without ghosting.
This QD-Oled monitor delivers stunning picture quality with vibrant colors and incredible contrast. The smooth refresh rate and deep blacks make gaming and productivity feel exceptionally immersive. Well worth the 5 stars.
I owned the monitor for one month. And for two weeks in the middle, I was out of town. So... in total, I used it for 2 weeks. It worked great on one day, and then stopped working the next. No breakage, no dramatic event, nothing. It just stopped turning on.I read in other reviews that MSI requires customers to pay for shipping the monitor in order to get it fixed. I dunno how much that would cost, but this thing is way heavier than any monitor I've ever used, so I'm sure it would be expensive, because it's both big and heavy. I just returned it instead. Perhaps because I expected more out of a $1000+ monitor... more expensive than my last 3 monitors combined.I was considering buying another one, thinking that maybe it was just a defective unit?... But then they randomly increased the price by $200 a few days ago. Haha... no thanks. Suddenly the Samsung Odyssey G8 is looking really nice now.I mean... it had great colour, contrast, it's kinda nice to have the DP2.1 (even though it's unnecessary), etc. So yes, on paper there's lots to like. But I'm just glad it croaked within the return window.Honestly I'm kinda shocked that such high-end monitors can have such a short lifespan... but I've noticed that TONS of high-end screens (from every brand, not just MSI) get slapped with a "frequently returned" label. Now I see why. Very disappointing. None of my waaay cheaper monitors ever died on me, so this is bizarre.
