Using it along the edge of my roof that doesn't get any decent amount of sun but which has unfortunately had an ice damming problem. I have four in series and they're working pretty well. It doesn't seem to be quite as fast as advertised, but I haven't scientifically evaluated that and it melts reasonably fast enough for me. All of the parts seem quite sturdy and that they should last for many seasons.I got the 20" x 60" size, which was pretty pricey for four of them. To be clear, they were appropriately priced at $200 each, based on other, similar products. It would have been nice if there was an option to just order the additional mats without the extra power cords. Maybe could have saved $20 per mat or so.

This works very well for our smaller stoop with only three steps. It doesn't seem to have a thermostat, however, so it stays on constantly. Also, it attracts bunnies (and their poop!) to our door.

I was very disappointed in this. I had it out for several hours one day, and it barely melted a 1/4 inch of snow. During the first hour, it didn't heat up at all. By the second hour, it only got lukewarm, and it stayed that way the rest of the time it was out there. I will be returning this.

Great solution for snowy steps. It's been a tough winter in Michigan and these have worked great. They have kept up with the hardest snow so far this year. Their heavy weight means they stay where you put them even without using the included hardware to screw them down. Not cheap but they work. I hope they last a few years.

I have not had a chance to use this yet, but I wanted to give an early review of what I thought since I did a lot of research on different sizes, styles, durability of wires connected to mat, thickness of mat, quality of connectors between mats, power cord length and the different GFCI connection placements!First off I bought a 30”x48” mat and it actually measures a bit longer which is fine for my setup! The style I chose had the connections centered on the long end of the mats, I chose that design since it’ll be on the outside edge facing the opposite sides of the common walk area to avoid stepping on the connectors or tripping on the wires. The mat heats up within a minute or so and feels just hot enough without burning to the touch! The connectors on the mat are solidly connected, very solid with a rubberized coating, they’re sealed really well! The thickness of the mat at 3/8” is very good as I hoped, not too thick to trip on but still heavy enough that it would have less chance of moving around when stepped on or if it was a windy storm and most storms are on the Northeast!The connections between the mats and to the power cord are very nice, they seal well and lock in with clips, could probably break the clips if stepped on but the connectors seems very durable to hold up to being crushed!The power cord length was a huge plus at 11ft long and I like how the GFCI is placed in-line with the cord so the plug is separate and is easy to plug into an outdoor outlet with a cover.The corner tie down rings are solid as well with a black anodized like coating.I will give an update if possible after first use as I wanted to give my first thoughts on here for people who are interested in getting this in time before the first snowstorm or ice storm in the Northeast!First update! Minor snow event but the mats look like they melt from almost edge to edge very well and no burn marks throughout the mat!

I use these to cover and warm the pipes to my pool - they are amazing and I highly recommend them - I have 4 of them - when its freezing cold out - these are the answer - durable, handy, easy to stow for the summer!

I put this under my minisplit condensor to prevent ice buildup, working great so-far.

This is the problem I had and I don't understand why everybody doesn't have the same problem. I placed the mat by my back door before the snow began to fall. As the snow fell, the melted snow eventually had no where to go because of the snow building up around the mat. We had 10" of snow. With the cold temperatures the melted snow turned to thick ice creating an ice dam. Because of the ice dam I couldn't open my back door. I had to go outside and chisel the ice away to get the mat up and to open my back door.
