I mainly used this with the remote but for the most part this works best with their app. As far as a tripod goes it works pretty well for videos. The remote is the best part of this and really the highlight for me. Though sometimes hands free is nice too.This was surprisingly better then expected with respect to quality for the price really brings out the value. The stand is a nice base and movement while not steadi-cam smooth is better then expected.

What we love:•The absolute FREEDOM of working without having to download (yet) another app —thing thing works right out of the box•It has a nice weight that does not tilt with a heavy iPhone Pro Max —so no need to worry about your phone getting dropped•The face-tracking works smoothly —you can turn it off (if so desired)•It comes with a braided cable much like the ones included in the Apple Watch•Everything (including the remote) are rechargeable and capable of fast-charging•The most important instructions appear on the unit so even if you do not read the manual you will be able to operate itWhat we like:•It folds for easy storage•The 360° view with the simple click of a button•Pairing was easy but the pairing instructions in the manual was wrong —on the iPhone you do not need to manually turn on NFC (just ignore that part) as the iPhone keep the NFC on at all timesWhat a prospect buyer should know:•Our unit arrived completely discharged so we had to charge it but charging was super fast on both the gimbal and the remote•While you can control everything from within the unit, we STRONGLY SUGGEST that you go for the unit with the remote as it makes it far more convenient to use•Speaking of the remote, this is where we find the one thing we disliked (but is not a deal-breaker) as pushing up on the remote is down and vice-versa —the same applies when clicking the remote to the right (it turns left) and left (turns right) —the work-around we found for this is flipping the control upside-down so that it can, then, control the gimbal to our needs•The face-tracking works really good but not if you are dancing or moving really fast —it works perfectly for normal movement with no issues•MOST IMPORTANTLY, when unfolding/folding the gimbal —make sure you do so by first clicking the button located near the arm or you could damage the unitIf you are someone who is concerned with privacy when it comes to downloading Chinese apps and the likes, this is a great product for you.

For now I give it a single star the material is good and looks nice although each of us are different maybe one more than another does not like it but it is nice and good quality

I have yet to explore all of the uses for the COMITOK, "MOTA", Magnetic Auto Face Tracking Stand but like what I see from the very start. The device comes robustly packaged in a reusable box that holds the MOTA stand, remote and charging cable.It is easy to operate and setup on a iPhone. After fully charging the base unit utilizing the provided USB C cable and a 35W charger of my own, I followed the simple directions on the box to pair and activate the MOTA. The base pairs up with the iPhone using a NFC handshake which is initiated by the iPhone iOS 17+ and an iPhone 12 or later phone. All that is necessary is to power on the MOTA and the iPhone, place the top end of the iPhone on the controls surface of the MOTA and the devices automatically pair and the MOTA finds your face. It tracks at a position of center high leaving a good angle for photography or webcamming.When in the video mode the phone tracks your position smoothly. Rapid motions can throw it off but it recovers quickly giving it a high rating for video production and live streaming.One feature not obvious from the directions is that you can not only track using the selfie camera but also by reversing the camera using the hand controller you can track using the forward camera array. This gives you a lot more flexibility in framing the subject and allows a higher zoom level than the front camera. I have a small hand held remote monitor which can screen mirror the iPhone and it makes it a lot easier to frame and set the stage for a video.The MOTA is a well designed, professional photographic tracking device of high quality, good value and great accuracy. I recommend its purchase.

This stand is absolutely worth the price value. You get so much included with this stand that it makes the price value worth it. Connecting to it may take some time if you have never set up a device like this before. The connectivity continues to work well even after the initial connection. The remote control provides so much ease and makes utilizing this stand much easier. This is great for camera recording from your handheld device. I found the synchronization of movements to be accurate and works very well with those who plan to move and want the adjustments and fixations to be based on your movements. You can set it up to remain in place or to adjust to your position which did not take me much time to get acquainted too. The stand is super easy to clean and although it has some weight to it, it is not unbearable to deal with. The battery lasts a long time and I do not have to charge it often. This is a great tool to have on hand.

I got this iPhone trucking stand to use for filming projects of upgrades and restoration. Work on my small sailboat. Installing the app and set up was quick and easy and the stand performs quite well for my intended use. The overall quality of the components is solid and has a nice weight and feel to it.
