This a solid, well made lock. It's intuitive to operate.The installation was easy BUT I did run into two unclear parts of the instructions. Maybe these things were obvious, but not to me! First, the bolt must be installed with the correct side up. How to tell? Well, there is a little flap called the "single direction bolt barrier." The side of the bolt with that little flap goes towards the INSIDE of the door. If you do that, all good. Second, there is something called a "mounting plate." It's round. After you have the outside piece poking through the bolt, attach this mounting plate next using the two long screws. Forget about the black plastic guide things; more trouble than they're worth Just put the mounting plate on the inside of the door with the two long machine screws. From there, you're golden. Just attach the interior door knob with the two short screws, which go into the mounting plate, and that's it. If I didn't run into those issues, it would have been a 10 minute, enjoyable project. Because of those two issues, there was 20 minutes of frustration added in. The combo part was very easy. All the rest was simple and clear. I hated changing the batteries all the time on my last lock. This one works great and is totally worth it.

What a great buy this was. I wanted to wait before reviewing and after 30 days of use we are 100% satisfied with this mechanical dead bolt. For 3+ years we had a digital electric battery operated one before this and it was a nightmare. Worked sometimes and other times would never unlock which was so frustrating especially coming home at night. I will never buy digital again because you never know when the battery is going out. This mechanical one looks great, easy to install and use, but most importantly it’s reliable. Highly recommended.

This lock is awesome! 100% mechanical! Which means, no batteries needed! Which is amazing! I'm a big clutz and always forget my keys. Our previous lock was fingerprint & keyless (it also has a key slot, which is kinda pointless, but apparently needed in case...). Guess what? Batteries died a few times, NO warning or beeping or anything. I was locked out because everything was inside and I was outside. We got fed up. Invested in these. And we never looked back! This also has a key slot just in case but I have not needed to use it! You can set your own code and never have to worry about getting locked out ever again! Knocked off 1 star because it was a little difficult to set up code with the tiny keypads inside (unless you have nimble elf fingers). Other than that, GREATEST INVESTMENT EVER!!

This lock is alright. It's fully mechanical so no worries about when the batteries will run out (& the ones with batteries will always run out at the worst time possible, like when you're away, when it's most critical, etc). This lock also has backup keys also for another level of use. I used a lot of these on my rental properties. Just so easy to deal with being keyless transactions.Changing the code is still a bit cumbersome but it's not that bad. You'd have to take apart the lock (2 main screws) to expose the keypad backside then change the tumblers.I'm still not sure about left & right hand install as I couldn't see that explained in the install manual. I tried my own way & it has a bit of offset as you'd just flip the latch upside down to use in reverse situation. And this causes about 1/3 in offset. But it fits fine in all the doors I used. So no issues there.I highly recommend this unit. 5-star all around.

Installed this yesterday. It went pretty smooth. Sometimes the instructions were a little scetchy . My biggest concern was that the deadbolt wouldn’t line up with the strikeplate in the door jamb but it did perfectly. I wasn’t sure these old eyes would be able to read the numbers without my glasses but the numbers are big enough that they weren’t required. So far it is working perfectly. Will update if any issues arise.

The install on this was troublesome for us because the rod that inserts through the house and through the door wouldn't fit into the depth of the door... So we had to find a way to drill deeper into the door to allow the rod to retract all the way in. Then, once we did that and got it all put together, the extended rod into the house when locked seemed to be more anterior (to the inside of house), making it so that the door didn't close into the door frame all the way. You could see light coming through from outside. I've included an image looking at the bottom of entry with door closed. You can see the bottom edge of the door angles into the house a bit. Not a lot, but this is a basement door and winter is coming. We also had to drill a larger space for the strike plate. Then, if that wasn't annoying enough, the door knob is too short (no neck that extends away from the door) so when you put your hand around it and turn, it's difficult to grip and you almost always scrape your knuckles along the keypad metal prods. Ouch. Then lastly, if you turn it the wrong direction, or don't turn it far enough, you have to start over with the entering code procedure. We had this installed for a little over two months, using regularly before getting fed up and went out and bought a battery operated keyless entry for twice as much money and none of the headache.

I love the idea of a manual keypad that you don’t need batteries for. The issue with this is that one side has the keypad and handle, but the other side is basically a deadbolt type handle. What I mean by this is if you want to leave the door unlocked, it does not latch closed unless you lock it. The mechanism is either fully recoiled when unlocked, or out in the locked position. I will look for a different one with a typical handle on both sides and that will keep the door closed when it is unlocked.

Works great, not a lot of non-electronic locks like this available, a quality product.

Installed a year ago and it is working well summer and winter. Never needs batteries. Easy enough to change combo.

This is a good quality product and looks great. It is so much better than those battery-powered combination locks where the battery runs out every other week. However, it is a bit tricky to set the combination as it has to be done by opening up the lock and setting the tumblers manually, so not so easy to change once set. Overall very happy with the purchase, though.

Worked really well at first, loves that it wasn’t electronic so we didn’t have to worry about batteries dying… but this thing has locked us out more times than I can count. The internal mechanism has worn already and it won’t unlock from the keypad at all. Has to be manually unlocked from inside or with the key. Completely useless and a waste of money. Didn’t even last a year
