My daughter needed a non dairy protein drink, these are perfect and she likes them. However they cost an arm and a leg.

I'm often trapped at my desk or running between meetings at lunch time. And when I'm not, I tend to make unhealthy choices in the company cafeteria. For about 3 bucks a "meal", this lets me take care of lunch quickly and comparatively nutritiously. Note that this has about 30mg of caffeine -- comparable to a cup of tea. It's tasty enough (sweet with some spices) that I don't feel it's a chore to drink it, even unrefrigerated.Compare that to the Soylent Coffee Coffiest or Cafe Mocha flavors, which has 150mg of caffeine and I used to drink as a breakfast replacement. I drank that but I didn't enjoy it at all.Note that all the Soylent flavors should are very rich. If you chug one of these as quickly as you would a glass of water, expect some gripes from the ol' digestive system. I tend to drink mine over about 10 minutes, or 5 if I'm, in a hurry.

Subtle flavor but a full meal's nutrition, and helps with satiety.

I bought the pack of Chai soylent after getting a sample bottle at an event I was at. It's a great meal replacement drink. I toss one in my drawer at work as a backup, and any day I'm too lazy to pack lunch, I can pull this out to drink. It definitely tastes better cold rather than room temperature. I would describe the taste as the texture of a thick milkshake (no ice) or cream but without the fat feeling, and a hint of chai. Not too sweet and no other flavors. I also haven't had weird side-effects like meal replacement powders (gritty, stevia taste) or bars (...farting) sometimes give. This version contains some caffeine (bonus!) and definitely tastes better than original soylent.It's 400 calories so I usually replace my breakfast + snack or my lunch. I would not drink this as my entire diet, because I really only need 1400-1800 cal a day, but soylent's nutrient profile is formulated for a 2000 cal diet.P.S. Sip it! Do not chug and go! It tastes awful that way. You'll also need a separate bottle of water with this. This drink made me super thirsty a few times. weird feeling to get thirsty after you drink.Edit: After drinking several bottles, my body is attempting to reject the room temperature bottles. I can only drink them down when they're cold. Not sure why. Still useful during a long work day.

First off, I wanna say that when I order Soylent through Prime I am always amazed at how FAST it gets to me. The other week I waited 24 hours for my 2.0 and this week my Cafe Chai got to me in 2 days, on a Sunday. Good job, guys!Now, for those of you who are hesitant to order Cafe Chai, hesitate no more! It is delicious. Unlike the Cocoa, it doesn't really have an artificial flavor to it. It tastes like... A vanilla chai had a baby with a bottle of 2.0. Personally I don't taste the horchata aspect that some people describe but it is so delicious.As a one cup a day coffee drinker I was worried about how the high caffeine content would affect me but I find it to be just the right pick me up during my lunchbreak at work. I am considering blending the chai with regular Soylent in the mornings, but the Chai tastes so amazing that I really don't want to!Soylent people, your Cafe Chai gets my unofficial seal of approval!

I have been drinking Soylent, specifically the Chia flavor, for at least 3 years. I just received my new order and the packaging looked different. I didn't think anything of it because they have changed it a few times. However, once I opened it I could immediately smell the difference. It also tasted terrible and was very thin as opposed to the normal thick drink. I tried another one from the same case to see if it was a fluke but it wasn't. They have changed their drink and it is TERRIBLE!! It is also less full as if they are now giving you less, which I guess makes sense since it isn't as thick as it used to be.

This stuff is great! There's a lot of conflicting reviews and I guess that's to be expected because not everyone's taste buds are the same. I love the Chai flavor (haven't tried any of the other flavors) Also, you may see and be concerned by some of the reviews that mention they threw up (or had other unpleasant gastro-intestinal issues) right after drinking one of these. I can almost guarantee that those folks chugged their soylent rather than sipping it. Sipping is very important! DO NOT CHUG THESE DRINKS!!! I read this same advice in another review and kind of shrugged it off (I'm usually a sipper anyway), but I was quickly reminded of this review when I was in a hurry one day and chugged half a bottle. I very quickly found out why this is a sipping drink only! (I'll spare the details and just leave it at that). Since that experience I went back to only sipping these drinks and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

Pros:- Like other Soylent shakes, these are very filling and satisfying. With 14 oz. in each bottle, you get more than any other meal shake I've seen, and the consistency is a bit thicker. They take a little longer to drink and feel more like an actual meal replacement - I rarely feel "full," afterward, but I never feel hungry.- The Chai version has more flavor than the Vanilla, but not by much.Cons:- The price feels pretty exorbitant. When friends and co-workers have asked how much they cost, their jaws dropped.- While they're more flavorful than the Original or Vanilla flavors, there's still just not enough there. I get that Soylent isn't trying to taste like SlimFast, but come on - stop skimping on the flavor! I've let friends and co-workers try these, and they all agree that while they don't taste *bad*, they're just... boring, and it's difficult to look forward to a breakfast or lunch of these.Bottom-line:I took one star away for the price, and one for the overly-subtle flavor. Personally, I keep a pack of these on-hand for days when I'm running late or working lunches when it's busy at the office. If it wasn't for the price, I'd probably use these as my standard weekday breakfast. They're not particularly enjoyable to drink, but if you want something that satisfies your hunger without making you feel bloated or craving food an hour later, this gets the job done.
