The title says the most important part of my review- this pump saved my mental health.I was struggling with my emotions coming out of an emergency c-section and a nicu baby. Between the anxiety, lack of milk production due to the nicu stay, and my recovery, my mental health was broken.I wanted so much to produce enough milk for my baby, but due to the nicu stay immediately after my surgery, my milk production understandably was impacted. But still, I pumped every day with the electric pump I received from the hospital.If you’ve used them, you know they’re a hassle! Hooking them up, putting a hands free bra on or holding the bottles, and sitting there for 30+ minutes. I would only get about 1 oz each time.Cut to me receiving this amazing product- my stress is relieved! I got almost 2oz in just 15 minutes! I get a little hand workout, can hear the milk drop, and feel a better sense of accomplishment!The pump is good quality, easy to put together, and so far all the parts (not including the white membrane or handle) sterilize safely in my bottle sterilizer.I highly recommend a little set of inserts, I found one for $10 that has all different sizes (which you know can be a journey in itself, finding the right size). Having all the options is very helpful for a changing body!This thing is so much more convenient to use compared to my electric pump. And I got more milk out pumping myself. I feel happier getting more milk, and having an easier set-up.

Hands down my favorite manual pump. Easy to use and travel with, and cleaning the parts is a breeze. The pump is easy to dissembled to clean and resemble when ready to use or store

I bought a hands free pump first and even on the lowest setting and using the flange suggested by my lactation consultant, I was in pain. Within 2 weeks the suctioned lessened. Replaced the parts but it still doesn't work like it did when I first got it. I overnighted this manual pump in hopes to keep my supply going or to increase it until i found another hands free, however, this works so much better. After just one use I was getting MORE milk than what I was with the other pump! Also no pain or uncomfortable feeling!For more context I do the pitcher method & was making about 12oz at the end of every 24 hour day (pumping every 3 hours for 20 minutes).With this manual pump I am now making close to 24oz at the end of each day & only doing 15 minutes on each breast.Definitely reliable and worth it to buy!

I never write reviews but I have to give it up for this Medela hand pump! I thought I’d never use anything but my spectra, but when it’s 3am and you wake up firm/engorged and need relief fast, the last thing you want to do is mess with those tubes and a tight nursing bra (trying to align the nips in the flange with your phone light is not the business) and possibly wake your little one with the sounds..With a history of clogged ducts and mastitis, I don’t mess around with letting myself get too full so I keep this hand pump on my nightstand for when I need relief in the middle of the night or in the morning if my baby is still sleeping and I want to relieve some pressure. Unlike my expensive wearable portable pumps (which do have their time and place), with this I can actually see and hear the milk output, and it works 👏🏼 SO 👏🏼 well. I appreciate the dual sided pump control for a smaller initial let down and then the stronger slower pump when milk is flowing.There were a lot of pieces for the initial setup but don’t let it intimidate you, it’s well worth it and you’ll become a pro in no time. As with all pumps, you’ll want to make sure you have the correct flange insert size (I just took the one off my spectra).I did end up accidentally snapping the plastic yellow valve piece when trying to remove it to wash one day, but I ended up replacing it with my spectra white duck valve and that works great. I can see how this paired with some breast pump wipes would be essential for travel too!Edit: I contacted Medela customer service about the snapped valve piece and they sent me two replacement parts for free! Great customer service.

I've mixed feelings on this pump.On one hand, I love it. The suction control is awesome, and I do feel like I am able to remove milk at a faster rate than my electric pumps. The pump parts themselves are easy to clean and feel sturdy.On the other hand, I was surprised by some of the lower quality aspects of the item considering the fact that it costs $30. The milk collection bottle that comes with the pump is a lot flimsier than I have come to expect from any kind of pumping bottles or milk collection units. When squeezed with relative force, you are able to push in the sides of the bottle. Also, after only a few times going through my dishwasher, the measurement markings on the outsides began to come off. This was fairly disappointing, as I rely on the measurement markings to know whether I have pumped adequately. I also was less confident just throwing the pump in a bag when I traveled for fear of the bottle getting crushed.One aspect that I do like about this pump is that the connection is a standard bottleneck size. After about a month, when the milk collection bottle lost its markings and had received several dents that would not come out, I simply switched to screwing in a doc Brown bottle to collect the milk. That seems to work perfectly fine.All in all, I am happy with the purchase, I just wish that the milk collection bottle had been a slightly higher quality. Especially given the fact that I have purchased many kinds of third party bottles and collection kits for cheap, and have never seen as low of quality as that bottle was.

hands down one of the most practical baby items we’ve owned. it’s compact, lightweight and so easy to use — perfect for quick pumping without needing to deal with wires, charging or bulky equipment.the personalfit flex shields make a real difference in comfort, and pumping feels smooth and controlled without needing much effort. it’s quiet, efficient and easy to clean, which matters a lot when you’re tired and just want things done quickly.and if time isn’t really an issue, this works wonders compared to the very expensive wear and tear you get on automatic pumps. it does the job just as well without all the stress on motors and parts - and we have 3 electric pumps but none of them can beat how much milk this one can get.my wife use this both at home and when out, and it’s been reliable every single time. simple, well-designed and genuinely useful.

I had the pump for a while and a few times it happened that it lost suction. Am currently trying to find the reason why it has happened again and nothing I do works. Online I've read many comments on this same issue as it seems to happen often.
