TL;DR:We've had these Sengled smart bulbs in our bedroom since 2018, and they're still going strong! Alexa controls them almost all the time. The setup was easy, and they're bright enough for the whole room (4 bulbs) without the typical LED flickering. Plus, they're durable – my kids keep stealing them for other lights! I think they last so long because they run cooler than regular bulbs.Full Review:We've been using these Sengled smart bulbs for the lights in our bedroom ceiling fan since November 2018, and I honestly can't recall a single issue we've had with them. We use Alexa to control them about 98% of the time. The other 2%? That's when we use the app, usually when Alexa is struggling to get the brightness level just right. But even that's become rare; we haven't had to use the app in at least a year.These (4) bulbs give off more than enough light to cover our entire room, and they've been used several times a day since day one. It's been nearly seven years of flawless operation, and they're still as bright as when we first got them. Installation, as I remember, was super simple, and that was the only time I had to deal with the setup. Even adding them to Alexa's Skills only took a few minutes; most of that time was spent coming up with and assigning them a name and group (room).When I first bought these, I never would have guessed that I would still be using them after 2,300 days of pretty much daily use. They're also surprisingly durable, especially since my kids think it's easier to take bulbs from our bedroom ceiling fan to replace a burnt-out bulb than to go get a new one from the hardware closet. I found this product very reassuring. There is a dedicated Ethernet Cable that attaches from your router to the HUB(which is recommended) Its very small and you should do it. It gives me a sense of comfort knowing that if my wifi modem reboots the hub will do so accordingly. I don't have Alexa or anything, and just needed smart bulbs that were reliable while I was away from my home. When you hook up the hub make sure to UPDATE the APP to the latest version.You can set up single bulbs one by one going around the house. But make sure to turn off the main power source of the ones that are already connected when you are trying to add a new one. The App will guide you on what to do from there. If you get confused or need help their customer service is very knowledgeable and will walk through the steps with you. I was very surprised at the customer service being so knowledgeable and helpful.You can turn your lights on and off that are connected as long as you have an internet connection from your phone anywhere.With fixtures (lamps/outlet stuff) These work great and flawlessly. (basically anything that needs a 2 or 3 prong socket into the wall with an on and off switch)I am having issues with the smart bulbs that are attached to bulb sockets attached to the house, using a dedicated light switch(ceiling/hallway). They keep going offline in app and will not turn back on. I will update once I call CS and find out what to do.Pretty Easy to set up. I am not that tech savvy, so if I managed you probably can.

This is a great set, especially for the price. I got it "used-like new" and it was a steal. I wanted to turn my home into a semi-smart home and replace all my lights. Sengled had a large pack for relatively cheap (especially compared to the majority), but they require a hub. I got this basically to use with the other pack. It works great...once you get it installed. To the people who have reviewed saying that set up was a piece of cake, that was definitely NOT my experience. I spent two hours just trying to set up the hub. I consider myself somewhat tech savvy and have set up so many other things with little to no issue, but this thing wanted blood, sweat and tears. I tried and tried, but it kept saying it could not find my hub, and then when it finally did, it said it could not connect. I tried resetting. I restarted my modem. I hit google and youtube and the Sengled website. Everything I could find and try, I did...to no avail. I even tried to connect via WPS to only find out it is no longer supported (note: because of this, the button is useless, and hopefully in the future will be removed). I tried via wifi and it kept saying that is doesn't support 5.0 and needs to be on a 2.4 network...mine is a 2.4, it is enabled, I triple checked. After walking away to regain my composure, I figured I would try again one more time before I boxed it to return. Miraculously, it detected my network and paired quickly. I finally was ready to go. Two hours later. Good thing I am in quarantine and have nothing but time on my hands. Then onto the bulbs. First one paired flawlessly. Second one...not so much. After trying to reset it by flickering the switch 5 to 8 times ( their site has both listed as a possible way to trigger it to pairing mode) multiple times, nothing. Then I realized the issue. Sengled threw out a firmware update in between bulb 1 and 2, so I had to update the hub. After about 10 minutes it was updated and I tried again...and it paired flawlessly. Once they were paired, setting up a group on the Alexa app was done in about a minute. Almost three hours in and I got everything working how it is supposed to. These are BRIGHT. I love it...my husband not so much. I taught him to tell Alexa to turn it down to 10% and even then it is bright enough for me not to complain and him not to grumble. Hoping it is worth the investment, but for now, I am satisfied. I knocked off a star for the fact of the trouble setting up the hub. Otherwise, I would recommend...let there be light!

I recently changed my work schedule from working a typical 9 to 5 first shift job to being promoted working a second shift job where I am away from my home in the evening where it gets really dark in my neighborhood. Living alone, I try my best to make sure my lights are on whether in the living room, bathroom or outside porch light while I am gone so I can have a lit house to come back to at night to avoid strangers thinking I'm not home. I bought some smart plugs on Amazon for my lamps inside my home to turn on the lamps while I am at work during the evening but I didn't have anything to turn on my porch light while I'm gone at work and I really didn't want to leave the porch light on outside because that would take a hit on my electric bill. A friend of mine told me about smart light bulbs and I never even heard of them until she showed me hers and how they work. I thought this was perfect for me since I can use on my outside porch light to turn on remotely while I am at work. I went ahead and bought a smart light bulb from amazon not really knowing the best one to get but I took my chance and went with this brand. When I received the smart bulb, I noticed it came with an adapter and one light bulb that looked to me like any ordinary lightbulb but I guess the adapter is for connecting to my wifi adapter which was easy to set up. I am not really a techy person so I for sure had to follow the instructions but it was super easy to install. When I plugged in the light bulb into the porch outlet and connected it to my alexa app, I was pleasantly surprised how bright the light turned on as well as I really like the option of being able to adjust the lighting from dim to super bright from my app whether I am at home or away at work. I love that I am able to turn the light on outside from work because it gives me a sense of safe and security when leaving work not having to pull into my driveway when it's completely dark on my block. I enjoy being able to pull up to a well lit driveway and when I am inside, instead of flipping the switch which sometimes I forget and end up going to bed super tired, I can simply open up the alexa app on my mobile device while in bed and turn off the light. Another thing that is cool also is that I can have it set on a timer. I am really loving living in the times of modern technology because products like these really help a lot and save me time from getting worried if I am gone during the evening and not having my lights on. This smart light bulb has been a life saver for me and I am going to purchase a few more because I want to put one in my bathroom and my backyard porch.

We have a long hallway, where the light switch is halfway down the hall. We were wracking our brains trying to figure out a better solution for the dark hallway. We thought of sensor lights, plug in lights, those round lights that stick to the wall and you press them, or even hiring an electrician to install another light switch.Then we found these....It took a little while to get the hang of, but overall works great. Here are a few tips.The hub is not a replacement for echo/Alexa. It’s needed to connect the bulbs to WiFi. I was thinking that we’d be able to plug the hub near the hallway, and talk to it when we needed the lights on.That leads me to my second tip- if using an echo, it should be somewhat close to where your bulbs are installed. Our echo is in the kitchen, which is sort of far from the hallway, so we either have to think ahead at asking for the lights to be on, or yell at it from the living room. I thought of moving it closer to the hallway, but we may just get another echo instead.The set comes with 2 bulbs, which of course can be put anywhere, but we used both in the hallway since there were 2 fixtures connected by one switch. By default, Alexa recognizes them as “bulb 1” and bulb 2. You can change the name of them to make it easier by asking “Alexa change the name of bulb 1 to...”.I changed both the bulbs names to “lights” so that I only have to say “Alexa lights” for both to turn on.Overall, the app leaves much to be desired. The interface is semi confusing, even with just 2 bulbs, so I can’t imagine if I had a house full of smart bulbs. I do like how you can control the brightness of the lights from the app and if these lights were meant for outdoors, I’m sure it could come in handy when approaching your front door at night. Overall, these are a great solution to our minor inconvenience of not having a close enough light switch. I’d recommend.

These no longer work at all (they cannot be reconnected through the app). They have been awful since I got them because:1. Their dimming range is atrocious, they’re minimum dim level is no where near zero and probably closer to a 40W incandescent (max is probably equivalent to a 60W incandescent, so very little range). This is almost certainly a hardware limitation and a consequence of using the cheapest driver possible in the bulbs.2. Almost every time the power or internet goes out (or even if there is just a voltage drop), each bulb has to be manually reconnected to the app to function again (they still display in the app, but they cannot be controlled until you remove them one by one and reconnect them). This used to be even worse, but they finally added a feature where the name and the room of the bulb are retained and automatically reapplied, but you still have to manually remove and go through the process of reconnecting them each time. Also, you have to reconnect them to Alexa afterwards and readd each individual bulb to its room in the Alexa app, as the Sengled skill doesn’t communicate this information to Alexa. I would think all of this is a software issue and could be solved by a competent programmer, but apparently they don’t employ them.I switched over to using switch or plug dimmers (Lutron and Leviton) or controllers from Shelly (for things like stove lights and inside of lamps) years ago (primarily with incandescents, which I stockpiled), but, when the app finally stopped working entirely, I still had five or six of these things in use for fixtures I didn’t use often and didn’t need to meaningfully dim. Honestly, it is kind of a blessing in disguise, since I will no longer have to deal with reconnecting individual bulbs every couple weeks.Oh, just to be clear, do not buy.

UPDATE 2…Sengled do better!!! It’s great these have 22 years of life, but what good is the time when they unpair and refuse to repair. Apparently theses bulbs do not work with 5G. Can’t connect to the Sengled app due to no connection to the internet. Got Xfinity to give me a 2.4G line and they still will not connect. I have these bulbs in all my table lamps and to go back to turning on manually is a disappointment. UPDATE YET AGAIN... All lights are now connected and working. Not sure what happened, but I loaded the app again, set up the lights in groups and they are working. UPDATED: ALL OF THE SUDDEN NO LIGHTS ARE CONNECTED. I have tried all the reconnection actions and nothing is working. Time to make a call to see if I can get replacements with a different brand or a refund! THE LIGHTS ARE FRUSTRATING. When I first got my free bulb with a new dot I installed the bulb before the dot. The bulb it would not connect to my older Alexa. However, once we hooked up the new dot and started messing with the app they began working. So I ordered a 4 pack of bulbs with an additional dot because I wanted to stay with the same brand bulbs. I installed all the bulbs, all connected and were diming fine. Then I installed the new dot and all the lights stopped connecting with a message "devise is unresponsive" on the app and Alexa kept saying "lights not responding", even though they were turning on and off on command. After continued receiving "the lights are not responding" after the lights had been turned on by Alexa and me screaming (I'm not sure why I scream at a machine) the lights are ON stop telling me they are not! Today as I was typing this I checked the app and all seems fixed, with the exception of one light I have not had on recently. So if you experience this... try yelling the lights are on stop telling me they are not. LOL I have zero idea why the bulbs started working, but they are. I like the bulbs bright white light, I like the dimming feature. The set up and trouble connecting is why these bulbs got a 2. Here is hoping they continue working.

These are great lights. Easy to integrate with Alexa… just screwed into lamp and turned on. Asked Alexa to find them, and done. My favourite thing about them is you can ask Alexa to turn on light at 50% or 10% etc. It will remember your last brightness and will turn on at that brightness unless you ask to change it. My lamps don't have dimmers but the smart bulb will do it for me. It’s perfect for tuning on a light with out disturbing someone who may be sleeping next to you with a bright light. One of my favourite new purchases.

It's normally easy to install but in my case, it took a while to connect via Bluetooth, because my bulbs were more than 30 feet away in my outside light post. I had to bring my echo dot closer for it to discover the bulbs. Otherwise they work great!!

These Bluetooth mesh bulbs are terrific. You don’t need to download an app to operate them - they integrate perfectly with Alexa. Very easy to install. I did have a bit of a glitch in programming two bulbs that were located close together (on either side of a couch) - one set up perfectly, the other would not. Simply moved the bulb further away, re-set it and it worked fine. Very happy with purchase.

I've been using these lights in my home for nearly a year, I haven't run into any issues at all with them.I first got this kit as a cool idea to make it easy to turn on my bedside table lamps without trying to stretch & reach for them.It worked perfectly for that, then I got my hands on a Google Home Mini for cheap, & it was able to integrate & work with my new Google Home Mini flawlessly!So I can turn these lights on & off with my voice no problems!I expanded how many of these bulbs I own to currently 8 in total, I have them in my living room, & dining room & a back hall in front of my washroom.They work perfectly fine as LED lights at they should.& paired with a Google Home device using them is great!The app you would use by default is a little clunky..... But I rarely use it, so it isn't an issue for me.But when I do, (when I need to be very quite) it works perfectly fine.But these bulbs are very affordable & in my experience paired with a Google Home, there perfect!Also you can turn these lights on remotely from anywhere you have a internet connection.So I could be anywhere, & I can use my cellphone to turn the lights on or off.You can also make schedules I'm pretty sure, but I never used that feature.But being able to turn them on from anywhere with internet is quite impressive!Only tiny negative I have is when the power go's out.... When power returns by default all these smart bulbs will be turned on.I kinda wish they defaulted to being off till I tell them otherwise.But this isn't really a big deal, so I won't subtract any stars.

Casi un año funcionaron a la perfección. De repente un día llegué a la casa y no estaban prendidos. Desde entonces no he podido configurarlos, hablo a soporte de Amazon y no me contestan (como que se corta la llamada) la bocina Alexa no los detecta, dice que no hay dispositivos. Traté con la aplicación de la marca (Sengled) y tampoco. Se han convertido en focos comunes y corrientes que hay que manejar manualmente. Fui feliz mientras funcionaron.
