Order a 7.5 ah battery (BATTOOL Upgraded 7500mAh 20V LBXR20 Replacement)... maybe two... I need these for all my outdoor B+D tools! NOTE: the little tiny 2 ah batteries B+D ships for this should be saved to reboot your workhorse batteries. I usually by these tools WITHOUT batteries! I use the larger amp hour batteries I buy for high draw tools including my extended chain saw trimmer, grass trimmer (especially with small lawn cutter attachment) Sawsall, 5.5 circular saw, and YES this blower!!!For all the people saying battery eater/killer, no! just too small a battery! When lithium battery is drawing energy as the potential energy is drawn the electrons have to flow through more substrate heating it up! THEN the temp sensor says, "No fire for you" and cuts the battery out! You do this enough and you will get a sensor that sees a battery with too little charge and says it is done. Flashing red light on the charger or nothing. Take that charged up 2 ah battery and two 14 gauge wires about 6 inches long with 3/4 inch stripped on each end, then go Pos-to-Pos and Neg-to-Neg for 20 seconds, then the battery will charge again! So not a battery killer and this happens on most brands if you draw until the battery cuts out. This blower is GREAT! I have a corded 150 mph blower but this one can push just about everything if it is dry and sometimes wet. I have blown 4 inches of snow and even wet snow can be driven with the nozzle about 2" from the ground angled forward and take your time. BUT have a larger AH battery!!! With a 5 ah battery I can do 75% of my porch, house to driveway stairs, single lane driveway to street (75') and sidewalk. with the 7.5 ah, all the way baby! with the 2 ah... NO! That is inside waiting to revive another battery or has a dual usb outlet and light adapter on it! Your drill with drill faster and harder, your sawsall will saws all, your grass trimmer will do the whole yard with 5 ah or larger battery! I use my corded blower in vacuum mode to suck up the leaves this blower has piled up! This blower is GREAT. I have use about six other battery blowers and this one for a 20v is great.Recap, buy without batteries because you already bought your larger batteries and you don't need any more. If you have to get that little battery use it to revive or as a USB/light station. The smallest battery I have and use for weight is 4 ah, I use the 7.5 ah ALL the time with high draw tools! You can revive most red flashies with that 2 ah battery and two 14 g wires in 20 seconds! If you rated this tool low for cut-outs and battery eating you realize now it is a high draw application and you were using a low capacity battery and rejigger your overall rating. AND if you rated it low for a slow delivery time... don't reviews in the future!
I've gotten this leaf blower when my old one (LSW20)... well, it's still working just great, actually. It didn't break or anything. It's just that it's not at all powerful. It would have trouble with anything heavier than dry leaves. Wind would blow around little twigs. If there's a wet spot, it'd do nothing to move what's stuck on it.Enter: the axial blower. Basically a 20V version of the strong blowers with higher voltages you see on the market, I saw potential. There were at least a few comments that bemoaned the short battery life--to which I thought, "oh, stronger motor. This would be nice." I was right. I had some extra 3.0Ah batteries lying around (highly recommended for this machine, by the way) so I bought this and off I went. It has 2 power settings--lower one is about the same as the old blower. Higher one... oh, it was pretty good. It's not going to beat any 60V backpack-battery-wielding ones, but it's still quite a bit stronger than the old one.Three downsides:- The exhaust is extremely wide, with no nozzle attachments. I mean, the older one didn't have it, either, but I feel that if you need more concentrated airflow, it would be nice.- Axial fan means the intake vent is going to be right near your shirt. It likes the shirt. It wants to eat the shirt. Take care not to let it nibble at your shirt.- Your small 1.5A/2A batteries will be drained pretty quickly, and I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me, but it seems to be less strong with it as well. Which is a shame, because those smaller batteries are the ones that the machine comes with. All in all, satisfied. I'm already using it for spring cleaning!
This blower comes with a 20V 1.5 AH battery. I fully charged the battery, then tried it, the battery lasted 5 minutes. The reason they don't sell this as tool only, and package it with a slow charger and insufficient battery is purely profit driven according to Rufus, Amazon AI tool. The fix is to spend another $55.00 for a two pack of 40 volt 4.0 AH batteries. Really?
This is better than I had hoped. Had the smaller blower from black and decker and from worx. Both did it an ok job of blowing freshly cut grass from the sidewalk but lacked the power to do much more. The black and decker lasted 1 1/2 seasons and the worx still works after several, but the old 18v worx batteries are ridiculously over priced.I have several 20V B&D batteries so I was happy to find this larger blower. It definitely has more power. It’s still lacks the power of even the cheapest corded model, but it’s more than adequate for quick jobs. The batteries last longer than I would have guessed but don’t plan on much more than about 10 minutes. I quickly found my weakest battery though. Even fully charged it won’t power this on high speed. The unit shuts off and on continuously, but works fine on the lower speed. Out of 6 batteries, I’ve only experienced this problem with one, and it has repeated every time I tried it. It’s much larger than the smaller model but is still light weight, well balanced and easy to use. So far I like. It’s much better than the smaller models but I’ve only used it for about 2 months.
Lots of power but the battery does not last long if you use full power
Nice lower that is light and has more than enough power to clear our deck.
It isn’t super powerful, but for the price works perfectly for the minor leaf and debris blowing I need.
Bought three of these BLACK+DECKER 20V BDBL700 MAX Leaf Blowers recently - two from Amazon.ca, and one from homedepot.ca in between the two Amazon purchasesAll returned and refunded because none of them work on second speed for more than a few seconds using supplied new 20v battery after fully chargingEven contacted Black and Decker after receiving second unit from homedepot.ca to confirm second speed should last more than a few seconds, just in case I missed something, and yes they said adding I had merely been very unlucky and should try againI did try a third time, second unit from Amazon.ca and nope Black and Decker are incorrect it doesn’t last more than a few seconds on second speedHave said to Black and Decker this item is not fit for sale and should be withdrawn as it is clearly not a 2 speed blower more a one speed - and noticeably slower at thatI have several other Black and Decker 20v tools and have all been fine for many years - matrix drill plus attachments, strimmer, hedge trimmer, chain saw and orbital sander hence why I opted for Black and Decker when I had a requirement for leaf blowerI have never left reviews in 25/30yrs of internet shopping but had to for this as Black and Decker are selling garbage and wasting customers time and costing resellers a fortune in handling returns which incidentally both Amazon and homedepot handled flawlesslyJust a shame the manufacturer continues to pump out useless product and adviceThere done it - said it - first time for everything and will copy paste to Amazon Black and Decker and homedepot review sites in a bid to get sufficient awareness from Black and Decker to have product withdrawn from sale and discourage potential customers from purchasing - until next 25/30yrs…
As advertised, 2 A/H battery, works well.
