We have only purchased these name brand filters for our refrigerator. They seem to do a great job and you van definitely notice the difference in the taste of the water. The fridge cost a lot of money so we'd rather not chance it with a generic aftermarket filter. These last about 6 months, which is how long they recommend to change them out. It would be nice if they were a little cheaper, but the best overall price we could find was on Amazon. Overall, they work as advertised.

I had a very hard time removing my old filter. Instructions said to press the center of it and it should pop out. My husband and I both tried, but were afraid to hit it too hard and break it. We finally had to get a repairman and he made a fist and popped it pretty hard with the pinky end of his fist, and it popped right out. Filter itself works pretty well, as far as I know.

The water that comes out of my Frigidaire fridge tastes really good and is always clear.I have no doubt that this filter does the job.Note: if you're changing the filter for the first time, you need to push the one in the fridge really hard to get it to "pop out".
