I bought this for a month-long rotation as a medical student on forensic pathology. We observe several autopsies every day and depending on how long it took for the body to be found, the smell can be really overwhelming and intolerable. I wasn't sure how well this mask would realistically work to block out that kind of a smell, but the day I got it, I put it on and I tested it on my trash bin and even the dumpster downstairs. I couldn't smell anything.Then when I went into my rotation I discovered that the mask really worked perfectly--it went above and beyond what I had expected. I'm so grateful that I decided to buy this because it immeasurably improved my quality of life while on the forensics rotation.It's very easy to breathe through with no weird plastic smell. You get a bit of a red mark or indentation on your face after wearing it for a few hours, but this quickly goes away. The straps don't pinch or hurt at all. And both of the straps are adjustable so that you can ensure the mask fits your face perfectly, which is important to make sure that you have a complete seal over the nose and mouth.Make sure that you pay attention to the kind of filters that the mask has if you're looking to buy a similar sort of respirator. I bought this one specifically because it has filters tailored to organic solvents, which was suitable and appropriate for my work in the forensic autopsy rotation. But depending on what you're trying to filter out-- if it's particulate matter or asbestos-- you need to ensure that you're getting the right kind of filter. Not all of them protect against every substance equally. But, overall, for the price I would absolutely recommend it, regardless of if you're trying to protect yourself from a smell or some kind of heightened medical risk from exposure to particulate matter at work, it's really a great price for a device that works exceptionally well.

Great mask! I've been able to comfortably wear this mask for over an hour while working on pottery. Seems to have good protection from the dust and airflow is smooth. I was able to adjust the straps easily for a nice fit - they also have some stretch for comfort. Only downside is having red marks on my face after longer uses.

I bought this when my husband had to go get mothballs out from under our house. Getting the two side pieces on was a little difficult, but it works pretty well. He didn't smell the mothballs at all until the respirator slipped a little. I'm going to deduct a star for that and for the difficulty of the instructions. Overall, it seemed a little heavy but the filter seemed really good. It helped my husband get an otherwise impossible task done.

Great respirator right out of the package. Twisted on the filters and put it on. Was able to keep fine dust particles, and even spray paint fumes out. Easy to set up and use, and versatile in its coverage.

I bought this respirator to provide protection against dust particles from repairing a large amount of drywall in an old room. I was working heavily with joint compound. A vast amount of dust was created, but this respirator worked exceptionally well. The strap is strong and, while I wouldn't exactly call it comfortable, it was easily adjustable, secure, and fast to take on an off. It was easy to breathe through and greatly minimized the amount of drywall dust I inhaled. I also used this while repainting a room and I found that it greatly reduced odors. Bonus: The filters are replaceable so you can reuse the respirator many times.Overall, this is a great piece of PPE for the big and messy jobs around the house.
