I can't believe I'm so thrilled to write a review about a toilet seat hahaha.Plain and simple, this thing is the best of ALL worlds. It feels good and sturdy with some weigh to it like a wooden seat.It has all the durability, cleanliness, and long lasting appearance benefit of a plastic seat.I had a good feeling and working wooden seat BUT the enamel/paint was wearing off on top and on the bottom, was either showing signs of staining (yuck) or simply just losing color to have wood show through. So I go to buy a replacement but who know toilet seats were this freaking complicated. Plastic ones are thin, flimsy, and poor feeling. Wooden ones did not have the lifespan to due to PAINT wearing off and they stain. This guy is wood that is encased in plastic. Problems solved! Now lets talk about the slow close feature. Many reviews had me a little worried about the slow close feature on this seat.Let me tell you, there is nothing you practically need to worry about.I admit, this seats slow close feature is more like SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW close but it works.Importantly though, you can just give the seat a good "flick" to close and knock out like half the distance with 1 flick of the wrist and it will continue to do its slooooow thing hahhaa.I'm happy to report that there is no tough resistance to closing or anything like that. It just moves freakin slow. You can lower the seat to completely closed with no abnormal effort.Unless you need the seat to lower fast (why by a slow close in this case) you will not find a logical reason to worry about the speed of how slow the seat closes hahaha. Now on to the lid. It feels good and sturdy like a wooden one. I read a review where someone thought it was a flimsy plastic lid. This is not the case with the 2 I ordered at all.I just wanted to point this out so people concerned about the lid or sitting on it would have some accurate info about it.Installation was easy. Get a flathead screw driver and a pair of pliers or channel locks and done.I will say there is nothing fancy about the bolt or fastening mechanism. That seems to be a "feature" other toilet seat brands promote. In the end you really just need a nice secure and strong fasten that won't easily come lose. So far it hasn't come loose so this checks all the boxes. Some people talk about the 4 little rubber "plugs" that come with this. They go in the round holes on the underside of the hinge base. The base that sits flat on the toilet itself when you screw this in.No instructions come with this thing but knowing that should solve any questions as to "what are these and where do they go". After that it's self explanatory. Bolt to toilet, done hahahaha. In all I find this toilet seat to basically be everything anyone would ever need. And again, don't fret one bit about the slooooooooooooooooooooowness of the slow close feature. It's a non-issue... unless you like inventing issues where ones do not really exist hahaha
My old friend was showing its age. After years and years of cleaning the wood began making an appearance.Sadly, it wasn’t pretty anymore, and time came for me to find a replacement.I’m a big guy and I knew a plastic toilet seat cover was out of the question. I like the weight and performance of wood. Reviews on Amazon were mixed as far as durability. The new wooden seats seem to wear the finish off too quickly and I began thinking about a plastic seat after all. Then I found this one. It’s wooden inside but with a wonderful and durable plastic covering on the outside. The seat feels very similar to the one it replaced. It was a breeze to install and it looks great! The two covers also have that slow closing feature that my old seat didn’t have. A nice feature I will insist on moving forward. For the price, I don’t see how you could possibly do better.I’m extremely pleased with my purchase. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The King is happy and comfortable upon his new throne and you will be too!
I prefer wooden toilet seats. I like the feel, the rigidness, and so on. However, the particleboard "molded" seats common today are not very strong. We have a few larger friends, and they have cracked our wooden seats more than once. It was time to look for something else. Solid wood seats are heavy on the wood-grain, which really doesn't go with our decor. So I took a chance on one of these. It feels like plastic to the touch, but it doesn't flex like plastic. While not 100% up there with wood, the lack of flex really turns out to be the most important part to me, so it's okay. If it turns out to be more durable, it will have been worth the tradeoff. Yeah, I've seen the video where a car runs over the seat, but I've also seen Napoleon Dynamite and wonder how many takes they had to shoot before they got one that didn't explode. Cautiously optimistic. The hinges and bolts are the plastic style that I don't like as well, but it may rust less, and I don't care quite as much about that. It may clean easier than the wooden seats I'm used to. Installation was very easy. The normal "white" color matches our porcelain fixture. The seat does close incredibly slowly, but as long as it eventually closes -- and it does -- I can live with that.
With a soft close hinge, this toilet seat has next to zero noise level. Easy to install and a breeze to clean. Functional, comfortable and no leakage.
Previously had a wood seat that made the heavy 'thunk' when it closed. Then the other bathroom got a Toto toilet that came with a soft close (safety close) seat, and I thought that was so much better. But that seat shifts when sat on, it's overly sculpted inwards so kids feel like they are falling in, and the lid was such a flimsy thin plastic that even the kids can't sit on it.This seat is the perfect in-between: Has the soft / safety close hinge, doesn't shift when sat on, not overly sculpted (although some may find it a bit on the flat side), and the lid is sturdy enough to sit on. It fit just right on our American Standard elongated toilet. The one thing that I would have preferred for ease-of-cleaning and for a more streamlined appearance when open, would be the seat lid to be made out of a seamless mold all the way to the hinge. Instead the lid is a separate piece that is screwed onto the hinge. I almost didn't buy it because the screwed on hinge makes it look somewhat... old fashioned. But I couldn't find a slow-close seat that had a sturdy enough lid to sit on, that didn't slip, and also had a seamless hinge. This one at least had the first 3.
Very good and sturdy and installs very easy. Lit closes slowly and dies it’s job on the throne👍👏💩
Super confortable, haute qualité, vraiment facile a installer et se ferme doucement 💯
fits like a glove and doesn't move around when you sit on it. super slow when closing.
stopped working after 3 months company contacted me and sent a new one great company
Solidly made product! Lid and seat close very slowly and quietly. Hinge screws appear to be made of stainless steel to minimize corrosion and last decades. Great value for your money.
