I've had this Tramontina stainless steel deep saute pan for several months now and I absolutely love it. The quality of this pan is excellent - it has a nice heft to it and feels very sturdy and well-made. The tri-ply construction with an aluminum core means it heats evenly without any hot spots. The 5qt capacity is perfect for sauteing vegetables, searing proteins, making pan sauces and more. The straight sides give you plenty of room for larger portions. The pan also comes with a tight-fitting stainless steel lid to lock in moisture and flavors. One of my favorite features is that this saute pan is induction ready. It works great on my induction cooktop and gets screaming hot very quickly. The stainless steel construction makes it oven safe as well, so I can start something on the stovetop and finish in the oven. The ergonomic riveted handle provides a comfortable, secure grip even when the pan is fully loaded. It gets hot, as all metal handles do, but that's to be expected with stainless cookware. I just use a potholder.Cleaning is easy - I've had no issues with food sticking or staining this polished stainless steel interior. Just avoid abrasive scouring pads and this will remain looking shiny and new. It's also dishwasher safe, though hand washing gently preserves the finish best.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this professional-quality saute pan from Tramontina. It has quickly become one of my go-to everyday pieces for cooking a variety of meals. Highly recommended if you're looking for a durable, high-performance stainless steel pan that will last for years.
When we got an induction cooktop, I needed new pots and pans. The Tramontina set I bought did not include a large saute cooker. I chose the metal lid rather than a glass one; I don't want to worry about lids breaking accidentally in my cabinet! My main use for this is either to cook down lots of leafy vegetables or to do stir-fries, but I have also made frittatas and omelettes for a family group in it. It cooks evenly and quickly on the induction burner. You need to use moderate heat (not really high) and I prefer real olive or avocado oil (in small amounts) to non-stick spray. If you let it cool, then wash it, it cleans up easily. To make it shine like new, I find that Barkeeper's Friend is very effective. So it is not quite as carefree as a nonstick pan... but (a) many such pans don't work on induction burners, and (b) you don't have the health concerns of some nonsticks. The more experience I have with it, the more I enjoy cooking with it. It is well constructed, and I believe it's as good or better than most more expensive pans. All in all, my Tramontinas are the best I have ever owned.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I originally got the smaller saucepan back in 2022, so I've had it for about 3 years now. But I recently went and bought a bigger pan from this company because I wanted to be able to put more stuff in it. They're both amazing pans. They're easy to clean and my food cooks evenly and doesn't stick.I kind of wish I would have bought a whole set because now I want more of them lol.If you've gone through tons of different brands of various pans like I have, buy these.Ease of use:They're not super light, but they're light enough that I can still pick them up with one hand.Stickiness:Food doesn't stick to these pans very easily, unless I end up over cooking something.
This is not non- stick, but it is a good sturdy pan that works well on my convection oven. I am pretty happy with it for the price.
Great pan. Heavy steel, heats fast, holds a lot of food. I really like it!
This is about the 6-Quart Sauté Pan. Considering the price, this is an excellent choice. I was somewhat weary but I’m glad I gave this one a chance. That being said, the pan struggles initially to heat evenly, with the center heating up rather quickly - almost too fast - while the outer areas barely keep up, despite using medium-low heat. This is not a problem if one, for example, slowly caramelizes onions. However, frying meat requires even heat right from the start; might be because of the tri-clad instead of a 5-clad (+) of my other, more expensive pans. One workaround could be to start preheating with low heat for a longer period of time?!Nevertheless, I love the pan and look forward to putting it to work.
I was looking for a large frying or Saute pan with metal lid. This unit is very well made. I used it the other night to make a green bean recipe using two pounds of fresh beans. Large enough to handle this with no issues. Very good heat distribution on my gas stove.
It sits well on my glass top electric stove. Easy to clean.
Very nice affordably priced pot. Perfect weight, two handles (which I was looking for because of arthritis in wrists), the perfect size for two people, and as a bonus, a stainless steel lid which makes it very durable. Recommend.
Perfect for large families. Love mine
Deliberated for a long time which pan to get, and I'm glad we got this one. I've cooked so many dishes in it already, and I love that it's stainless steel because I can make it nonstick by heating it the right way.Which you probably know, but in case you didn't, it's when you heat the CLEAN PAN on medium heat till you can splash a few drops of water and the water rolls around like little beads. That's when it's nonstick.Have used this to cook large batches of food, sometimes you just need that depth to make sure food's not flying everywhere as you stir fry or push things around.Great for stews, stir fries, fried rice, etc. Whatever you wanna cook you can probably do in there. Worth the price, happy with it, and will likely keep it for a long long long time.No need to worry about the non stick coating from teflon coated pans at all.
was not the pan I wanted but I bought it because it was the only one with next day delivery. I have now used it and find it is a great pan and in hind sight it is far better than most of the more expensive fry pans I was looking at! Buying this turned out to be a great mistake on my part because I ended up with one of the best fry pans I have ever had! Better then previous pans that cost 3 times as much!!
