I purchased about 4 weeks ago and it has been in constant use since. Works well and is absolutely silent !!! Those reviewers with complaints don't seem to understand what happens when you boil a pot of water dry or how to clean out mineral deposits. Basically, this humidifier is a rice cooker without the temperature step down and more venting. The stainless container is very easy to maintain compared to all the other warm mist humidifiers. Since the water is only in the container, it is the only thing that really needs to be regularly cleaned (the inside cover and top piece can be rinsed every once in awhile). The mineral deposits are easily removed with a little white vinegar and Scotchbrite sponge. In other warm mist humidifiers the water leaves the tank and sits in a plastic well with a heating element in it. The heating element is usually on the same section as the controls, so it cannot be submerged and the mineral deposits usually cook themselves on the element hard to the point where it would need to be cleaned DAILY and somewhat chipped off. The mineral deposits, if not cleaned off, create hot spots and when the water is heated causing popping sounds. So, with this humidifier, if you're hearing noises, I BET you're NOT cleaning the container. Also, if don't dry off the outside of the container before placing in the unit or allow water to drip onto the heating plate without wiping it up, you WILL hear popping sounds as it cooks off. As for raising the humidity level quickly, that depends on how well your living quarters are sealed from the outside air and how late in the winter you start using your humidifier because all your furnishings are absorbing most of the humidity. If you can boil water in a pot and clean up after yourself, this humidifier is for you. If you can't do THAT, well, grow up !!!

Love this humidifier. Works great. Much easier to clean than other humidifiers.. Mostly just remove the stainless steel water container and wash out then soak with some citric acid to remove sediment, rinse, put it back in. So easy, no difficulty accessing parts or keeping it free from mold like other humidifiers. There's no real humidity monitor on it, but it has 3 settings and the night time setting works well for me and lasts almost all night. Maybe 7 hours instead of 8, but my room is well humidified. Very happy with this purchase.

UPDATE: the humidifier stopped working less than a month of use. We only run the humidifier at night so it wasn’t even used all day. About a week ago, I noticed that the water levels remained the same overnight. I turned on the humidifier during the day to make sure it wasn’t a user error or that I didn’t push the wrong button. The humidifier will heat up the water, but then shuts off and doesn’t produce the mist. This item is way too expensive to have it stop working after about 2-3 weeks of use. I followed all the care directions including the cleaning and tried unplugged, restarting, etc. Luckily, I’m still within the return window. Returning this item immediately. Such a shame because it started off great and as I previously stated, the stainless steel is great and love that it’s so easy to clean and keep mold free. But all of that doesn’t matter if the item is defective and doesn’t work.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. I've been searching for humidifier for my toddler for a while, with specific criteria in mind. I wanted something that was truly easy to clean all the nooks and crannies that did not require a filter and a way for the humidifier to output clean, purified mist. This fits the bill and checks all those boxes. I love the stainless steel and it really is so easy to clean and no mold! It does need to be cleaned at least once a week (you'll see the water in the tank and the hard water build up on the bottom). I love that this humifier has an auto clean feature-it's a game changer! I added in some citric acid to the water and pressed the button and it was spotless afterwards. I appreciate that the humifier boils the water so it's a clean mist that comes out as a result. And I don't need to worry or fuss with filters. The other parts of the humifier is also very easy to take apart and clean. It's also very quiet.The reason I took off one star is for the following reasons: the power light can't be dimmed or turned off, and it's pretty bright in my opinion for sleep time when the rest of the room is dark. I've tried many methods to cover the light with tape, post-its, etc. It's not a deal breaker, especially because of all the positives stated above, but just something to note. The other con is the limited control of the humidity. It gives you essentially a set percentage you can select from (standard, fast, and sleep). If we can't control the exact percentage, I'd prefer it to simply state "high, medium, and low". But to give specifics like 75%, 65%, and 55%, made me think initially that I could adjust the settings and personalize it more, which isn't the case. And the last con is the size. The entire humidifier is fairly large, although the tank itself needs to be refilled every night. We only use it at night time, and we set it on "sleep" which is the lowest setting and we put a timer on it, and it still needs to be refilled daily. Again, none of these cons listed are complete deal breakers for me. The positives still far outweigh the smaller, annoying features, but they are still noteworthy and contribute to the overall 4 stars.Lastly, cost wise, that seems subjective. For us, we were tired of the usual plastic humifiers that get gross and moldy and impossible to truly clean. We looked at more expensive stainless steel humifiers like the carepod, etc. This humifier seemed like a good compromise in terms of cost and functionality. Overall, happy with this purchase. I see it's on sale for the amazon spring sale and contemplating getting a second one.

In sleep mode, the water boils and finishes within 2 hours.Worked well for 2 weeks. Then it stopped working. Water wasn’t boiling anymore.

Love this humidifier! No more filters or distilled water. Just fill it with tap water and let it run. The vapor is clean and it's the quietest humidifier I've ever had. You'll see the stuff that's in our drinking water as that's what's left when it's empty. Just clean with vinegar once a week.

Amazing humidifier, if you’re looking for a bedroom warm mist humidifier that is easy to clean - this is it.Yes, the humidifier may “gurgle” as it boils the water occasionally, but its stainless steel components are easy to clean, and I really don’t notice the sounds too often.It will keep a large bedroom humidified on low (55%) for the night (approx. 8 hrs). If you will be refilling this unit regularly throughout the day and night, I would consider the larger unit and consider using distilled water to minimize how often you’ll have to clean the reservoir (depending on how hard your water is).I use the unit every night and give the reservoir a rinse and light scrub with a sponge before every use for a week, then descale weekly due to hard water.The touch button functions are relatively easy to use, and I appreciate that there is a button to turn off the lights on the machine while you sleep.Great product, I just wish the larger unit cost less.

DONT BUY THIS. I'm not sure where the good reviews are coming from but it is absolutely the worst purchase I ever made. I paid almost $200 for a glorified rice cooker. The tank is small, it'll last maybe one hour. The very first week I used it, there was rust. Within the week the room smelled absolutely horrid, almost like pee or rotten water. That one star is for the fact I got my refund. I actually wish I could report this as a product that is not safe and a complete scam.

The winter air is very dry so I use a humidifier. I used evaporation humidifiers, which worked well but they're a pain to clean / you need to buy new wicks.This is a pretty compact unit that humidifies a single room. I use this at night time in my bedroom. It's super easy to fill, and it automatically shuts off when the water is done. On the sleep setting, it keeps my smallish (~300sq ft) room around 50% humidity at ~23 degrees C.Every few days I notice the bottom looks a little crusty and sometimes brownish (it's the iron in the water accumulating) -- I just sprinkle in some citric acid, run it for a while, then dump it and it's pretty much good to go again, that's all of the maintenance.My 2 minor gripes:1. The buttons are not back lit or marked. Good luck changing any settings in the dark.2. When you open the lid to refill, some water will spill behind the unit (steam condensates near the joints)
