This works really well, and is really well made.  Its heavier than I expected, which was good sign #1.  I don't know how anyone could have had an issue bending or damaging this, unless it was operator error.  I've been rebuilding rears for 3 decades, but never had one of these.  I always used to cut bearings off with a whiz wheel by removing the cage and rollers, and then slotting the inner race and driving a cold chisel into the slot until the race cracked.  Then the inner race can be tapped off pretty easily.  Its time consuming and can be dangerous (I ended up with a piece of shrapnel in my hand for 6 months once).  This tool takes maybe 2 minutes to set up and 3-4 minutes to use and the bearings come right off easily, with no damage to the bearing or the differential.  I removed the carrier bearings from a Dana 60 with it very easily.  I'm installing a locker and wanted to measure the factory shims as a starting place.  I wish I had this tool years ago.  I bough the set with 3 shells.  If you will be using it on bigger rears like D60, Ford 10.5, etc. you will need the white shell for the carrier bearings.  I highly recommend this kit.

TL;DR: this tool may not work for Ford Sterling 10.25 pinion or carrier bearings if:1. You have a 3.55 or numerically smaller pinion with a narrow shim - the reason for this is that the gear portion of the 3.55 and numerically smaller pinions are thicker than 4.10 and numerically larger pinions, and with a narrow thickness shim there may not be enough space between the pinion shaft-side face of the gear and the base of the tapered roller bearing for the jaws of this puller's cups to fit and close enough for the collar to fit around them.2. You have a later model Trac-Loc carrier where the tapered roller bearing sits completely flush against the mating surface of the carrier and where there are only two recesses for the arms of a 2-jaw puller.In either of these cases, there is absolutely no way that this tool will work without using another tool first, in which case, you may as well just finish the job using that tool, thereby rendering this tool unnecessary.I experienced both of these situations first-hand. In order to pull the tapered roller bearing on my 3.55 pinion, I had to: cut off the bearing cage so I could fit a bearing splitter under the very small gap between the spline-side face of the pinion gear and the base of the bearing and use a large 3-jaw puller ( Posi-Lock 110 ) to grab the bearing splitter and press agains the spindle end of the pinion. You could also place the bearing splitter on the arbor plates of a press and press the pinion out of the bearing.In order to pull the carrier bearings, I had to cut off the bearing cage and use a 2 jaw puller ( Posi-Lock 210 ) which has arms that fit in the 2 recesses on the carrier ( see picture ).In both cases, I had to also apply a fair bit of heat from a heat gun prior to starting to be able to turn the pullers.If both of these cases apply to you, my humble advice would be to buy a Posi-Lock 210 2-jaw puller, a large ( > 4 inch ) bearing splitter plate, and a heat gun if you don't already own them. Even though I used a 3-jaw puller on the bearing splitter, you could definitely us a 2-jaw that is the size of a Posi-Lock 210.Otherwise, this tool does look very nice and probably works great if you have enough space between the base of the bearing you are pulling and the surface underneath it for the puller cup jaws to fit under enough for the cups to close completely.

Worked great for removing 9.75 carrier bearings. Does NOT work for removing 9.75 inner pinion bearing as the ID of the black tube is too small to fit the OD of the lower shaft of a 9.75 pinion.

Solid tool

this is a high quality tool. I ordered one from a different supplier broke it and sent it back the first fifteen minutes. But this tool is of higher quality if your working on smaller vehicles hot rods and 1/2 tons. I was working on a 14 bolt 3/4 ton truck and it pulled the side bearings but wouldn't fit over the pinion. I am definitely keeping it.

Said this work for Dana and 44 I got a 1999 tj with Dana 44 but does not work wasted my money did not fit the clams are to big wouldn’t work on a carrier bearings or the pinion bearing
