We got sick of our pool filter being constantly filled with little leaves and debris from the trees behind our house. The leaves and seeds have actually sprouted in our filters before - so we read about these socks that help keep the little debris out of the filter and it's worked so far!Right out of the box, the Valdorena 10 Pack Pool Skimmer Socks looked just like the other socks we've purchased. They look really small, but they DO fit normal skimmer baskets for below ground pools.We just put this sock on our skimmer basket. It's a tight fit and makes the basket float. You just need to add a rock to the basket to make it sink and hold it down so the water will flow through and it will collect the debris.These socks do a great job keeping the little debris and leaves out of our filter. We had trees behind our fence drop all their leaves this winter and they are little leaves. The basket fills up like crazy! We cleaned our filters recently and there was WAY less debris in the filter...this time, mostly just dirt. We are able to use it for a month or two and then replace it. Once the leaves stop dropping so much, we'll leave the socks out.I have no negatives of this product at this time. If, after more use, anything changes, I'll come back and update my review.Overall, I highly recommend these filter socks to keep debris out of your filters so you don't have to clean them as frequently.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! The product did not work at all. It sank to the bottom. I even tied it to the edge where it would float on top and it still had no suction and did not remove any of the surface debris from the pool. Very poor product.

Sits too deep in the water

I started using these last season and I'll never go back to a bare basket. These fit perfectly to multiple size baskets.They are perfect for catching small debris and the needles that would get into my filter. Just remember to check them every other day. And please don't put these on you filter basket lol.I highly recommend using these, it really cuts down on filter maintenance.

Thing thing doesn’t float at all. Never did I put it in the water and that’s the first thing it did is go underwater. Water to the top lid and floated there with no way of surface debris to get in it. Then I looked out there later and it was a ft under water. I had to zip tie it to the side of pool. I don’t think it works good at all

It doesn’t seem to really suck the water from on top, I still get quite a few bugs

I recently started using these skimmer socks, and they have been an effective, low cost upgrade for my pool maintenance routine. The material is a strong stretchy nylon that acts as a fine mesh prefilter before the debris reaches the actual pool filter. It’s been catching everything from fine dirt and dead algae to those tiny gnats and pollen that usually slip right through the basket and clog up my main filter necessitating cleanings more often than I'd like.The installation is straightforward to just stretch it over the rim of the basket. I did have to pop the handle out to get it seated perfectly, but the fabric is durable enough that it didn't tear during the process. I’ve been able to rinse and reuse a sock several times before needing to toss it, though I’ve noticed they eventually develop small holes near the handle attachments after a few weeks of use.One thing to keep in mind is that they are so effective at trapping debris that you have to check them frequently. If they get too clogged, it can restrict water flow to your pump and will shorten the lifespan of the pump. Also, if you use chlorine tabs in your skimmer, I’d recommend placing them under the sock so they don't sit on the fabric too long.For a 10 pack, the value is excellent. They’ve noticeably extended the time between my deep filter cleanings.

Does not float evenly on water surface. Does not draw items in well enough. And when pump turns off all the stuff it did collect comes back out.
