Original Review: I have had this hair dryer for about six months and it has started to make a high pitched noise and shuts off. This is extremely disappointing for such a hyped up dryer. I have my old 7 year old dryer I will have to go back to.I have never dropped this dryer and keep it on a stand in my bathroom. I will see if the manufacturer can help.Edit: Well, whatever mechanical issues the hair dryer had are now gone! I don’t know if something had jostled lose inside or if it was just a bad bearing, but one day it just started working again without notice. No complaints here! It’s a very nice hairdryer, and I like the different hair attachments. They snap on magnetically and are designed for different hair types. I use the curly hair attachment and my daughter uses the straightener attachment to help straighten her curly hair.

I am like many others, I see the price and go "Good god, that much for a dryer? No way the price is worth it."I am so sad to report it is, in fact, worth the price.- You can notice the difference immediately upon first use. My hair is dense, thick, wavy hair. Most hair dryers I have tried over the years, take at least 10-20 minutes when drying right out the shower. I also tend to start sweating, as I have to take a longer time thus heating up my scalp.- The dyson dried my hair out the shower in 5 MINUTES. Yes 5 MINUTES. I was stunned. The heat settings are well programmed, as the medium and low settings do not overheat the scalp over a period of time. The cold button was fast and responsive.- I was skeptical of its design, with the open blower, but it works perfect. In fact, I like the longer handle, as I can more easily get to the back of my head. The weight is perfect, just heavy enough and just light enough to not strain the hand.- The attachments are also excellent. The fast drying attachment does exactly as it says, so does the fly away attachment.Now I have just one con:- It does not come with a travel bag. For being expensive as it is, its silly it does not come with a travel bag.Despite my initial scoffing at the price, I can confidently say this is absolutely worth the price.I will warn, the supersonic is similar to a basic hair dryer. If you want to do curling, straightening, etc, you need to get the other dyson hair dryer. For me, the basics is all I need, but if I decide to style my hair more, I would definitely consider getting the other dyson dryer.

Used two times and it left my hair looking shiny. Dried quickly and it was quieter than my old hair dryer. Note: Used on the Carnival Dream and it blew the room fuse twice. Apparently too much power for the cruise ship. Was forced to use the room hair dryer

I replaced a Dyson hairdryer for my wife as it was out of warranty. Decided to go for the premium price AGAIN. This one broke after four months. I went to Dyson repair center and they confirmed that it needs to be replaced due to failure of a heat sensor, safety feature. However, they said I need the serial number. Which is only found ON THE BOX or on the small paper tag on the power cord (which I cut off when I threw out the box). Dyson refuses to take responsibility for their failed product AFTER FOUR MONTHS, because I did not keep the box. There is serial number of the device itself. So their response to me: we will give you a 25% discount to purchase ANOTHER of their crap products. We had excellent Dyson products when we lived in the UK and China. Their US products are not the same. I am astonished by their failure to stand behind their product. If you buy this, be sure to write down the serial number or you are SOL.

Fantastic blow dryer. Maybe little expense but I can blower dry/style my hair within about 6 minutes. This blower will not permanently dry out your hair. I always receive compliments on my hair.

I cannot believe I debated on ordering this for so long! I love my Dyson! It dries my long 20” hair quickly without over-drying. The air intake is at the bottom of the handle which is much better than the back of the air shaft - my hair never gets caught. The attachments are perfect. I absolutely love the flyaway attachment as I have fine hair with layers, and sometimes it looks like pure frizz. The flyaway attachment tucks my layers to give me a great curved under look.This blow dryer shape is also mush easier to pack in my carry-on luggage than a traditional blow dryer. It’s lighter weight and so much more convenient. I’ll never use anything else!

I specifically contacted the seller, source tech pre purchase as i live in the UAE and they assured me this had a UAE/UK plug - It arrived with an Indian plug!!! Totally incompatible and also poor quality so not even sure its a genuine dyson.

The best hair dryer I have ever used. The hair is not hot and extremely dry after drying. Adequately dry the hair while protect the hair from entanglement and dryness

Honestly, it's a great product, quality. Do you or I need a several hundred dollar hair dryer? No. I like fancy stuff as much as the next person, and usually I stand by the saying "you get what you pay for". Now don't get me wrong, it's quality. But at the end of the day, it's a hair dryer. If you think this will revolutionize your life, I'd say pass. Buy a $30 hair dryer. If you have money to blow and like to splash around, then treat yoself!
