After reading reviews on mushrooms and products like AHCC, I bought this some time ago for my then-senior Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix, who suffered from a number of ailments. She had several skin issues, including warts, seizures, and hip dysplasia. While Pet Naturals Hip & Joint helped with her hips, and switching to a better, grain-free dog food got rid if her seizures, this powder really did put her back into puppy form--though she wasn't too crazy about the taste and didn't always eat it. Sadly, she passed in the summer due to old age, but I do feel this helped her live a longer life--even 3 years longer than her biological sister, who suffered from the same issues. In December of 2014, we got a Corgi puppy, who seemed in good health but was on Everpet with his breeder and didn't look the better for it. We transitioned him to Wellness, which certainly did wonders, but this product definitely gave him a boost thereafter. I've been staggering days to boost his immunity, but making sure his body's natural defenses don't grow dependent or lax because of the powder. After his vaccines, I do a 7-day dosage while his body learns to recognize the viruses, then go back to a few days a week with his breakfast. So far, his coat had become much softer, he's itching and rubbing his eyes less, and he barely bats an eyelash after his vaccines are given. Digby also wasn't too keen on the taste but seemed fine when I started adding a little wet food to his dry in order to mask/blend the taste.I've also seen a marked improvement in our senior cats, whose diet never changed, as well as in a neighborhood (rabies-free) raccoon that occasionally comes lurking and had a hot spot going on. That went away within a few weeks. While it may be a milder product compared to AHCC (more concentrated and complex form of shitake), I feel that it's a good and less expensive place to start, especially for chronic conditions that may not yet be in their extreme phases (i.e. CPV, cancer, etc.).
We have two 15 year old male cats, Taylor and Alex. Someone had abandoned the two of them near our house. They look to be Maine Coons, or a mix of that bread. We took them in and have loved every day with them. They are both indoor / outdoor cats and are feed a high protein dry food daily along with a snack.Earlier this year, in the spring, Taylor developed a limp that we started noticing and then beginning in June we began to notice that his left shoulder was protruding, a little at first, and then more noticeably. Looked kinda like it was dislocated. Initially, we thought the limp was simply due to old age and protruding shoulder was due to a physical injury from jumping down from a high place. Prior to this he was still eating as usual, somewhat picky, but still as usual. He was also drinking water, behaving and sleeping as he normally would. So we brought Taylor to the vet in late June (hadn't been since getting all his shots and neutered when he was a kitten). I showed the vet a video of Taylor walking towards me while in the family room, so that he could see his gait in a more natural setting than in the vets office. After he examined Taylor, the vet said he suspected it was a tumor that had wrapped itself around his shoulder. He couldn't say with certainty until an xray was done. When the xray results came back, he confirmed what we had hoped he wouldn't. It was a tumor. The vet said he was pretty certain it was cancerous, but would only be able to know more definitively if we did a biopsy, which of course would be an additional cost. We went through a bunch of scenarios from, if it was cancerous, what are the options for a 15 year old cat? Everything from amputation of the affected leg/shoulder to radiation and chemotherapy. We decided against any of the invasive procedures due to his age and what he might gain (perhaps a few months?) from all of that and instead opted to try and give him as much pain relief as possible (keeping in mind that up to that point, he really hadn't changed his daily behavior). So we went home with a prescription for gabapentin drops to help ease any nerve discomfort / pain. We gave him 1 dose and it made him so drowsy he didn't want to eat, we discontinued it's use.Well, I'm the type that likes to look for potential alternative solutions. So I started doing some research into any available cat supplements for cancer, knowing that there isn't a 'magic bullet' out there, but rather looking for something that would give our beloved Taylor a better quality of life in his twilight years. Perhaps even slowing the progression of the disease.I found a number of products to try, and started giving them to Taylor, mixed with his usual daily treat of Temptations Classic dry treats. We have been feeding him these supplements since late June of this year (about 4 months now), and the results are very encouraging. The tumor around his should has shown no visible signs of getting larger and seems to be just a bit smaller, though that could be our wishful thinking (it's not, however getting noticably larger though). He walks with far less limping (perhaps around a 60-70% reduction) and he maintains his daily routine of eating and drinking regularly, going outside to walk around and lay in the sun and climbing our stairs to sleep on our bed in our 2nd story house. So lots of climbing and jumping. Here are the nutritional supplements we give Taylor once a day:1/4 Tsp - PureAll by Simien Pets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SQORJSS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=11/4 Tsp - Omega-3 by Simien Pets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0161JI55K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=11/8 Tsp - Immunity by Bixbi: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048ZAR5G/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=110 Drops - CoQ10 by Stay Well Pets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSWID1Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=18 Drops - Life Gold by Pet Wellbeing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BCQR10I/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1Now, I'm not a vet (nor a medical doctor) but I do have a degree in BioChemistry and some graduate work in Molecular Biology / Immunology so I can appreciate what these supplements have the potential to do for animals cells (especially those stressed by a disease like cancer). The number one key thing to remember (in addition to there being no 'magic bullets' out there) is that these are supplements, and not replacements so it's important that some kind of balanced diet is maintained where possible. And while we are hopeful Taylor's tumor is not actually cancerous (benign), we realize it is most likely cancerous (malignant) so we are trying to do everything we can using supplements to give him as many pain free/less pain, quality days as we can going forward - So far, with great results.
My sweet girl, a great dane/german shepherd mix, has been suffering with bouts of vomiting for the past year or so, and they began to progressively get more intense. At one point she threw up between 25-30 times in one day. She underwent some minor testing, but without the ability to fund an endoscopy, she was given the vague diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Basically, my vet implied, I would be dealing with these random bouts of vomiting forever.I am somewhat against the use of steroids for my girl, as the side effects are atrocious and I feel that when I used to see a traditional vet, the over-prescribing of these meds is what has ultimately caused most of her problems. The typical treatment for IBD would be steroids and possibly antibiotics. Without these options, my vet gave me a chinese herbal supplement that immediately stopped the vomiting. The problem was it was going to cost $70 to maintain this treatment over the long term. Too much! I looked everywhere for similar supplements and could find nothing. I started her on slippery elm and marshmallow root, and supplemented some psyllium seed. I also went to a diet that I cooked (I can't afford the raw diet), and all of these things helped, but didn't eliminate the vomiting entirely. Then I found this Superfood, and it was the last product that I was willing to purchase before I just gave in to either a long term low maintenance dose of antibiotics or steroids. I bought Superfood and said I would give it three days to work.Within two days she stopped vomiting. It has now been almost two months, and not a single problem!! I'm still supplementing the slippery elm/marshmallow root as I feel that it's a great GI soother, but I think the Superfood helps aid her digestion. I would highly recommend this to anyone whose dog suffers with food sensitivity, or especially problems with vomiting or diarrhea. To be a little bit graphic, her poops are a little smaller but not rock hard like they used to be, and she is very regular. This makes me think she is probably absorbing more of the nutrients in her food, thus producing less waste. Either way, the difference in the quality of life for both of us is remarkable!FYI, she is about 90lbs, and I started her on 3/4 of a teaspoon twice a day for the first two weeks, then 1/2 a teaspoon twice a day for 3 weeks, and now I have her down to 1/4 of a teaspoon twice a day. Sometimes when I'm able to feed her three times a day I will add a bit to all three meals just for added assurance. And sorry to anyone that is dealing with this problem. It's terribly frustrating and exhausting.
I have two pitbulls. One is allergic to grains and other weeds outside. I was pleased when they both tolerated this powder. However due to their size and the quantity that is recommended it is too expensive to continue buying and found another product much more affordable. I don't feel like the results were very drastic but did notice less under belly redness. The paw licking never subsided.
I adopted my cat Smokey, 12 years ago as a Rescue Cat. He had an incurable viral eye infection that never bothers him. However the drainage from his eye goes into his sinuses making him vulnerable to Upper Respiratory Infections (URI's)He gets these URI's ALL THE TIME. And when I take him to the vet, the vet puts him on antibiotics. But they only work a week and his URI comes right back. So the vet puts him on a stronger antibiotic that makes Smokey lose weight, and the URI comes right back one week later!!!!Rather than taking Smokey to the vet,I have managed his chronic URI's with humidifiers. They have helped him a lot. But my cat still sneezes BIG green buggers from his nose, and coughs. The poor little guy has a day or so of severe congestion. I then get him surrounded by a bunch of humidifiers. But it is a daunting fight that has lasted for 12 years!!!!! ugh!I just started smokey on these daily vitamins Pet Naturals Daily Best for Cats (45 count), by giving him 1/day. The RDA is 2/day. But with ONLY 1/day, the IMPROVEMENT IS INCREDIBLE. He sneezes and coughs A LOT LESS!!!!! And on the RARE occasion he does sneeze, rather than sneezing BIG green (green is a sign of bacterial infection) buggers, he sneezed very small little white (white meaning the infection is less) ones. And he has so much more energy. He runs around like a maniac on these daily vitamins..Then after about 2 weeks on these, I added to his regimen "Organic Pet Superfood IMMUNITY Premium Supplement for Dogs and Cats". It mixes easily in Smokey's wet food. I have only given this IMMUNITY POWDER TO SMOKEY ONLY 3 TIMES, BUT NOW SMOKEY DOES NOT SNEEZE OR COUGH AT ALL!!! HE IS COMPLETELY CURED!!!! HE IS SO MUCH BETTER! IT'S INCREDIBLE... AND HIS ENERGY LEVEL IS CRAZY ON THIS IMMUNITY POWDER.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE1) Pet Naturals Daily Best for Cats (45 count)2) Organic Pet Superfood IMMUNITY Premium Supplement For Dogs and CatsI also give a daily vitamin to my other cat as it's just good for her. She has no infections or problems. But she won't eat wet food. Only her dry food. So I mix the IMMUNITY POWDER in 1/8 of a tspn of Organic Strawberry Preserves and make a thin paste. Then I put it on her paw and she licks it off in order to clean herself. But she ingests this IMMUNITY POWDER. It's too funny!
Help my fur baby, till started to get use to it
I read some reviews and decided to try this for our sweet 9 month old puppy who got a canine wart on her gum line. We were looking for anything to help, as she would go to doggy day care a couple times a week to play and couldn't go back until it was gone. She is VERY playful and was definitely missing her friends (and trying to avoid dogs while out and about was stressful for us/she didn't understand why we wouldn't let her say hi to everyone!) Plus, because our sweet girl was so friendly and also still very young, we didn't want her time away from other dogs or seeing us drag her away from dogs create any sort of fear or weirdness when she was always so good with them!I took to the internet and found this. Within 1.5 weeks of using it we noticed the wart was coming down a lot, without question. Now, 3 weeks later, and its the tiniest dot. Please know, these warts typically last 1-5 months so I have no idea if this is what worked magic or if this wart (which was never huge) was always going to take this long to go down. *we did do a double dose for the first week upon recommendations*She doesn't love the taste of it and after hiding it in her food she now eats her food way slower. However, we've begun mixing it with wet food and giving her a spoonful after she eats so that she has a full belly and it doesn't cause a tummy ache (no issue with diarrhea or anything while on it). We will continue to hide it in something while she is still a puppy, minimum, to try and help her immune system around other dogs.We are pretty certain she will be able to play with other pups by the end of next week or early at the rate it has come down and she is going to be so excited!
The joint supplement does wonders my dogs in his golden years 14 and sometimes he need a little oil. Especially during the colder months it’s good to maintain him limber and active age isn’t stopping him yet and neither will his joints. Can’t recommend this product enough just don’t expect overnight results first week double the dosage then go normal after it’s great for maintenance care.
My dog has skin allergies for the longest time and we have been looking for a natural supplement that would help ease his problems. After taking Bixby skin and coat, my dog seems to itch more and scratches more often. He looks to pitiful waking up through the night scratching and scratching we had to resort to using Apoquel once again. Will continue sourcing for other Brands in hope to find something natural for him. Wish me luck!
Bixbi Skin and Coat is the Bomb.com! My 4 year old chihuahua was always itchy, and was losing fur in patches, all along her body. I have been mixing the Bixbi powder into her food, for 3 months, and she is way less itchy, and her fur less patches are growing back in. She has so much new hair coming in. I will keep using Bixbi Skin and Coat every day!
J'utilise ce produit qui est une poudre organique de champignons recommandé par les vétérinaires, en complément de la lisyne pour aider le mieux possible mes chats avec leurs rhumes (coriza). Très satisfaite
Very good product. It is not the first time I buy this product, but it is the first time I buy it on Amazon. It is made from many kind of mushrooms, all well known for their medicinal properties. I use to give it to my dog who had allergies and it did work great in relieving her of her allergies. Now 5 years later, she has lumps on her breast . I hope this product will also help her in this case.
This has lions mane, same amount as in the Immunity product. Cannot use both products together as it would be too much lion's mane and these products are non refundable. Not good.
