I needed a fountain type water bowl to encourage my cat to drink more but also it needed to be big enough for my dogs to use as I don't have space (or desire) for two water bowls. In looking around I saw that fountain bowls are all run by aquarium type pumps and are a pain to maintain so I kept looking & was delighted to find the Petsafe bowl which works through centrifugal motion. I've had it about 8 months now & have loved it. My cat definitely drinks more. The water flow is strong and it is quiet. You only hear the trickling of the water.. and it is quieter the fuller it is so if the trickling is loud then you know the water is low.It's very easy to clean but it's problematic that water can get trapped in the area between the upper bowl & the base. Honestly though I don't have any solution for this. It makes sense that there is an upper bowl & a separate base & as long as there are 2 separate pieces I have no clue how to make it so that water doesn't get in between (without meticulously drying the bowl after cleaning). So I'm still giving it full marks.I also should note though that I had a problem with it recently where it wouldn't go back to functioning normally after a cleaning. It would run for a moment & then turn off. I troubleshot it & could get it to run again briefly but no matter what it kept turning off. So it may seem odd that I would give a 5 star rating when I had problems with it within a year. I'm doing so because their customer service (through the chat on their website) was amazing. I told them the problem. I told them the things I had done to try and remedy it. They agreed that all of the possible solutions had been covered so they would replace the bowl. They immediately shipped a new one and sent me a mailing label to ship back the old one. The new one arrived within 3 days.So though the fact that I had a problem with it is worrisome, it's superior function and stellar customer service still merit it a 5 star rating.

I've bought half a dozen cat water fountains over the years: basic ones, luxury ones made out of stainless steel or glass, app-connected ones, etc. This is the first one that, as an overall package, is actually worth keeping and maintaining long-term. It's easy to clean, ACTUALLY doesn't have a pump immersed in water (some other brands claim they are "pumpless" and will just bury the pump under plastic pieces inside the water tank), and all of my cats actually use it.Although it's not silent, the splashing water sound isn't particularly intrusive, and is easy to tune out; the fountain is in the middle of my living room near the TV. If you are very close to the fountain (within 1-2 feet), you can sometimes hear a high-pitched whirring sound from the spinning part that pushes the water around.However, I've deducted 1 star because this is NOT "dishwasher safe." After a single cycle, the plastic was permanently etched/discolored with unsightly white blotches all over it. To be clear, this wasn't mineral buildup that was removable with citric acid. No, this was permanent damage. Returned as defective, and replaced with a new one that I now exclusively handwash. It only takes a few minutes, since the parts are all large and easily accessible. No tiny little plastic pieces for a pump!

I liked the idea of having a pump free water fountain for my pets because I feel like it’s always the pumps that take the most work when it’s time to clean. I ordered it for my cats, (yes, the largest one), thinking that if they didn’t like it, I could give it to the dogs. The first day one cat didn’t interact with it at all, the other cat seemed to think it was a bathtub and water got kind of everywhere. He was splashing and having a great time, but I did kind of want it for drinking. Haha! It takes a bit less than a gallon of water. I used a sealed gallon and when the fountain was full the gallon wasn’t empty. I’d say probably 1/5 of the water was left. So it goes use quite a bit of water. The second day my cat that initially ignored it started drinking from it. And now by day three the other cat drinks from it too. I am probably going to get one of the smaller version too, and end up giving the smaller one to my cats and the bigger one to the dogs. But I really wanted to see how my cats did with this one before I bought one specifically for their size. They’ve never had a water fountain before. I never bothered getting one for them because they are irritating to clean, so far this one seems easier. Just based on looking at the parts this one will be much easier to clean. The quality seems really nice. There are no small or breakable looking parts. It seems solid in design. So far I can absolutely recommend it. And like I said, I probably will be buying a second smaller one to give to the cats and be giving the bigger one to the dogs. I’ve only had it a few days so far so I’m gonna see how it fairs for about a month before I commit to a second one, but I really do not expect any problems. This is probably one of the best pet fountains out there at the moment.

It has this cone thing which I guess they say is not a pump, but this cone thing is what pumps the water up. Super difficult if not impossible to clean. Its really tight. I can't get a sponge inside to cleann it. And I was really hoping not to use brushes again to clean the pump. Its almost like they need to provide a toothbrush to clean it.Also, really noisy. I used a Catit and it broke. But it was pretty quiet. The pump in this fountain is noisy especially at night. I bought it for the bathroom right next to our room because Miss Bee liked to drink at night. But this is too noisy. If you buy it, make sure its in a room no one goes into.3 WEEK UPDATE: I’ve used this almost a month. Some things to consider:1. Red Light of Death. Its full of water but this stupid red light comes on for no reason and it stops flowing.2. Water Flow Is Too Little. When it did work, the water is just a trickle. I couldn't figure out why this happens.3. Its not pumpless. It has a pump, its this stupid cone thing. You are trading one problem for a bigger problem.4. Impossible to clean. This cone has nooks and crannies that are worse then my Catit pump. I’m going back to my Catit, glad I didn’t throw it out.5. Food and hair float. My Catit would pull away food particles, dust, dirt and hair so I wouldn’t see it. These thing keeps it all so you can see it.6. NOISE! I had to move this out to the another room we don’t use much because it would drive me nuts, especially at night. Worse than an annoying faucet which drips.7. Blue Light Attracts Bugs. The bright blue light at night attracts bugs. The termites were just swarming and I saw a whole bunch of termite wings at the back of this fountain by the light.8. Plastic drinking. My older cat get’s cat chin acne. It came back after using this for 3 weeks.9. Too light. My younger cat is a bit overly playful. He likes batting this thing around because its too light. He enjoys splashing water and making a mess.10. Filter is a joke. This filter is super small. It reminds me of a postal stamp.

Overall, I really like this product. It constantly circulates the water in the bowl, keeping it from going stagnant. The indicator light is a helpful quick indicator of the water level. It is easy to take apart, clean and change the filter. Most of my pets will use it, although it took some warning up to for some. Finally, it is fairly quiet. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows though. It is made out of plastic, which is a terrible material in regards to bacteria. It will still need cleaned often as plastic holds bacteria much more than materials like stainless steel or porcelain. Also, while the filter does work (it is always pretty icky when I change it), it doesn't filter out larger things like fur very well. So in a household with 3 dogs and 4 cats, it will has to be dumped and refilled fairly frequently. Because of those cons, the price is a bit steep. Those are the reasons for the 3 stars. I have one dog that still refuses to use it, but that didn't factor into my decision.

I really like this fountain. It took my cat a couple hours to get used to it to the point where she would go up to it and start drinking from it but now she doesn't have any issues with it at all. One thing I really like about this is the built-in indicator. The light turns red when the water is low or when the filter needs to be changed which is extremely helpful to have. No more guessing when it's time to change the filter! The only downside I found is that the blue lights on it light up the room a bit too much but then again I'm someone who has to sleep in a completely dark room. Thankfully this light can be turned off which is very helpful. This Fountain is also quiet. Overall I really love this.

I'm really impressed with this PetSafe Outlast Pumpless Dog Water Fountain. It arrived quickly and was easy to assemble. My dog enjoys drinking water out of it. And I like how durable it is. Overall it works well for the price. The blue light is a little annoying and pretty bright. But other than that it works as described.

Très pratique pour le nettoyage

Worked great for a few months, had zero problems until it started flashing red. The product stopped working and all I did was dissemble the product to clean it. Then I simply put it back the was it was working started flashing red and then stayed flashing red. No it is no longer in use. It was a shame it was good but no after the 2nd time cleaning it, the product has stopped working. It wasn't the first time it flashed red this time around just completely stopped working.

Idée à revoir.

iv had the fountain for a day now, so far its the best one iv had, and iv had a few. its the quieter than all the others, my cats love it too.my only issue with it is the blue light lights up my whole flatt at night.
