I've had several lamps with three-way switches in them that have operated with one-way bulbs for a number of years now because of the expense of LED three-way bulbs. Then this set of LED three-way bulbs became available to me as a Vine reviewer on Amazon and I ordered it.So let me give my assessment of my free bulbs: they're great and I would pay for them. They put out a ton more light at the high setting than my previous bulbs (2150 lumens vs 800 fixed lumens) and less light at the low setting (600 vs 800 fixed lumens). The range of lumens is great. Unfortunately, as always with three-way bulbs, there is less discernible difference between the middle wattage lumens (1600) and the highest wattage lumens (2150) than between the lowest (600) and the middle (1600). Going from 600 to 1600 is a BIG jump. Going from 1600 to 2150 is barely visible in contrast.Finally the one negative is a size problem: because these bulbs are much taller than normal bulbs they won't work in every light. I have a pair of lights that take three-way bulbs and these bulbs just barely fit between the socket and the finial and frame (I think it's technically called the "harp") that hold the shade on. They do fit, but I had to press the frame (harp) out of shape toward one side to get them in. Screwed in there was about 1/8 inch of clearance between bulb top and frame. Despite their ultimately fitting, however, I removed the bulbs--they are so high installed that they glare out over the top of these side table lamps to anyone standing in the room.

Was a bit skeptical about trying these bulbs, however, I'm very glad I decided to order them. They are, as stated by other reviewers, a longer bulb, however, I use them in a Torchiere (6 ft. tall floor lamp) with a stained glass open shade that faces up, so I'm not too concerned with the longer length than that of the old standard bulbs. The bulb has proven to do as it says, has 3 brightness settings, and that is always nice to see through stained glass as it illuminates the colors well. I tested all 4 bulbs and they all worked, and it's nice to be able to have three settings, as I don't always need a glaring brightness in my den. It's economical to have a 4 pack, and if they last even a fraction of the countless hours they say they will last, then I'm happy. I think that the price is great, as I have seen these types of bulbs sold at a very competitive retail store as a single bulb for nearly 20.00 ea. So this is a better buy. These days lighting seems to be an investment, however, I have several other new tech bulbs...for over a couple years now, and that's a plus that I haven't had to replace one bulb yet. I believe these will last a very long time as well.

I've tried sooooooooooooo many 3-way bulbs and they never work. What normally happens is that you turn it on and it clicks onto one of the light settings, then as you click through the switch it simply turns the bulb off, then when you get back to where the light comes back on it gets brighter but only because you have cycled the bulb... it's super annoying.These bulbs actually act exactly like a normal filament bulb. 3 light settings and all of our older 3-way lights go through all 3 settings on the bulb. Low, middle, high.I actually kinda wish I would have gotten the brighter set of the bulbs. The ones I got were 30/70/100watt. The lowest setting is slightly too low. The middle setting is just like what we had before and the 100 watt is pretty bright.I choose 2700k and it's a nice normal white color. I'd be interested in trying the 3000k color temp to see if it's that much white or harsher. As I get older, I don't want harsh light inside. The daylight bulbs are horrible to me. They aren't soothing at all. For garage lighting it's fine because I like to see where I am working but inside the house 5k is just dreadful to me. I think 3k would be a good spot but anymore color temps vary so much from each manufacture it's hard to say, "this color temp is the best".. someone's 3k might be someone else's pure white and not a soothing tone...etc.Overall, these have been great, and I'm pleased to say that all the 3-way lamps I've tried the bulbs in work just as a normal 3-way bulb!

I received 4 individually boxed 3-way light bulbs that use 5/15/21 watts and provide the equivalent illumination of incandescent bulbs of 50/100/150 watts.These are 5000K bulbs that provide normal daylight illumination, and the light is neither yellow nor bluish-white, but right in the middle of those 2 extremes, like natural daylight.The bulbs work perfectly in my 3-way fixtures although please note that while the bulbs are approximately the same width as a standard LED light bulb, they are considerably "taller" or longer than standard bulbs. In my case, my 3-way fixtures are on a floor lamp that is about 5.5 feet tall. At the top of this pole lamp is a frosted white plastic fixture that looks like a white mixing bowl sitting on top of a pole. The tips of these LED bulbs poke out above the top edge of these plastic fixtures, which is not ideal. But that is a cosmetic issue.Functionally, these bulbs work well and provide good illumination. If they fit in your fixtures, then they will be great 3-way LED bulbs.

I tested using a working 3-way lamp that has a CFL bulb in it. I opened the package & the first bulb I pulled from the 4-pack did not work as a 3-way bulb. It acted like a regular bulb does in a 3-way lamp ... off, on, on, off. The first click (turn of the lamp knob) did nothing - 'off'. The second click was the first 'on' & was the 100w equivalent with no change to the 150w brightness at the third click - the second 'on'. Then off after the 4th click. I belabor that just so I'm clear about what I mean and there is no question 🙂. Then I grabbed a different lamp & confirmed that it worked with the 3-way CFL bulb. Then I put in the same bulb I tested in the first lamp. Exact same results. Then I tested each of the other 3 in this 4-pack of LED bulbs. They all worked as expected in both of the lamps and gave good lighting. So, that's a 25% failure rate, which is pretty high if they passed QA in the factory. Your mileage may vary. I gave the lights 3 stars because the 3 that worked did work well & were an improvement over the CFL bulb.

Since LEDs have taken over the market, it has been hard to obtain one that worked in all positions of older 3 way iamps. Those that did, were/are often huge, so much so that the shade bracket could to accommodate their size. Yet many of us have resisted giving up the easy toggling between three discrete light levels. That makes the availability of these lights a cause for rejoicing.Now these are still larger than a single level or dimmable bulb, but a lot less so than their LED predecessors. I still have a few smaller wall lamps these will not fit, but they can be accommodated by all my floor and table top lamps. It's too early to gain a sense of their longevity, but for now, I will assume it is fine and award a full five stars. Should they not live up to their promise, rest assured I will return to report it. For now, they deserve a full five stars, and that is what they have received.

I was really excited when I saw this LABORATE LIGHTING 3-Way LED light bulb set. It isn't easy to find a 3-way LED bulb with 21W as the top wattage. These bulbs are bigger and heavier than other my 3-way bulbs (my photo shows the size difference) but I don't have any 21W LED bulbs and that could make the difference. The extra size means they extend beyond the top of any torch-like lamps.Unfortunately the bulbs themselves have a lot of issues. I tried all four bulbs in three different 3-way lamps. None of them worked properly in all three lamps and I didn't have a lamp in which all 4 of them worked properly. I had one bulb that didn't work at all in one lamp but worked completely properly in the other two. The rest worked properly in one or two lamps but would behave like a standard light bulb lighting only on one wattage in the others.Completely independent of the above, when the bulb worked properly, it was only slightly brighter at 21W than at 15W.Will I use these bulbs? Yes but only in lamps that aren't used very often. I don't think they are unsafe, they just don't perform well. I don't recommend these light bulbs.

I have a pair of 3-way lamps that are like 40+ years old. They work well still but since there aren't that many 3-way LED bulbs on the market, I haven't upgraded them to be energy efficient.Here I thought I found what I was looking for, a 3-way bulb with a warm light and LED. But I put it in the first lamp and it didn't turn on with the first click. It turned on with the second and then didn't change intensities at the third click. This behavior is consistent with a regular bulb put into a 3-way socket. So was I given a regular bulb?Testing further, I put it into the other lamp and it was much better. It took a second or two to come on with the first click, but it gained intensity with every click. I use the same type of incandescent bulbs in these two lamps, so I don't understand the inconsistency. It could be the lamps, but I feel like the bulb just somehow isn't compatible.I also tested this in a small touch lamp that's a 3-way too and it didn't come on at all. In this case I'm willing to blame the lamp, but I was really hoping these bulbs would be good for this lamp too.Despite all these problems, I really like the direction and uniformity of the light. I was worried that with such a large base, the light wouldn't fire downward, but it shoots to the floor just fine. It's decently bright, though honestly not bright enough for the great room that I'm trying to light.One more thing to complain about. I have to review this harshly because I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. At over $13 a bulb I expect them to work perfectly. If I'm going to have to deal with a finicky one then I might as well just use a regular bulb that costs a fourth of the price.
