This black chandelier has completely elevated the look of my dining room. This is a really nice light fixture! Upon opening, it was hard to miss the fact that this fixture is very well made. The matte black finish is strong and will not easily chip or scratch. I have found in the past, that sometimes even very high-end fixtures, the finish will get damaged and scratch or chip, just from the assembly and installation process. It stinks to hang a brand new light fixture, and immediately have to touch up the finish. This is not an issue with this item.Assembly was straight forward and very quick! It comes with several down rods, so you have a lot of adjustability in the length that the fixture hangs, so it will accommodate a range of ceiling heights. There is also a hinge where the top of the rod meets the housing, so mounting on a sloped ceiling is no problem. There are two tiny black screw tips that secure the housing to the mounting bracket, and it would have been lovely if they had included an extra, as many others do with tiny parts that are essential! Mine were precariously screwed on the tips of their mounting screws on the bracket, rather than in a small plastic bag with the other small hardware bits. One of them came loose and fell of while I was installing the bracket, and I haven't been able to find it! I suspect that it may have bounced under the refrigerator, but I can't see it and haven't bothered to try to fish it out yet. I realize that I should have removed these two tips before mounting the bracket, so that's on me for assuming they would stay put, but having an extra would mean that I wouldn't have to take my kitchen apart any further to find it. For now, the fixture is precariously hung with one screw on one side, but it seems like it will hold until I locate the piece or some up with a solution.This fixture takes four typical e12 chandelier bulbs, which provide plenty of light. I really do appreciate not having to go hunt down some obscure bulb type that is overpriced and hard to find, so, thank you!!This fixture is versatile in size and shape. It is currently hanging over the island in my kitchen, and it looks great there, but I am also looking for a fixture to replace the builder light in my front hall. Haven't decided if I want to order two more and have three hanging over the island as pendants, or remove a down rod or two and hang it in the front entryway as a semi-flush mount. It will look stunning in either location, and it is so nice to have options!
