My dog loves it. (But honestly he isn’t picky. :-)) I like the ease of use. I hope it’s good for him. Seems like it would be. He’s 13 and I do want the whole grain. Only reason I took off a star is because it is a little pricey. With canned food he gets about 1/3 can a day to supplement kibble. Hoping maybe this can replace the canned. Time will tell if this will be cost effective. I have ordered the two pound to compare and see how long it lasts.

Got roped in with the good reviews as I was looking for alternatives to wet food. Introduced to my 11yo terrier mix very slowly. This was always planned as a supplement to mix in with his dry food. He wasn't liking the taste so like many others, I moistened with chicken and beef broth (low sodium). He did eat it but as last bite and didn't seem to enjoy it. I thought he would eventually adapt but not 2 weeks later he developed diarrhea. I wasn't sure this food might be the culprit so I removed it from his diet and he resolved the diarrhea within a day or 2. A few days later I started the slow re-introduction again, and by day 3 the diarrhea came back. I stopped feeding this altogether and he has been fine since. Clearly this was caused by the food (this was the ONLY new change in his feeding plan). The broths I had used to moisten he tolerates with no issues whatsoever. I bought both the beef and chicken variety and am now stuck with unusable food that I don't even feel comfortable donating. Many others have complained about their dogs getting sick as well. I regret trying this and would not recommend it.

First off, this stuff does not smell like dog food. It smells like chicken soup mix. All my dogs love it. My only issue with it is it's totally powdered which is a very bland green looking food once you mix it with water. When I first checked it out I gave it to them as their whole meal and it was just like giving them oatmeal. Now I sprinkle it on top of Purina Pro Plan and our dogs love it. Ok, so PPP isn't the best dog food. But really, I researched everything dog food and the more you research the quicker your brain is gonna explode. We went raw and we cooked human food for them. We spent years spending tons of money on the best dry food available. Then we went grain free. My dogs throughout this had dry itchy skin and my GSD threw up almost every afternoon. I couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong. Then I read that the grain free was Horrible. That dry was horrible. That raw is bad too cuz its not cooked and so we will get worms. Buy this, buy that, don't buy this, don't buy that. I thought my head would explode. I bought books on the best diet for my dogs. I'm embarrassed to say, I cried over this! I wanted my dogs healthy but didn't want to go broke or kill them from cardiomyopathy. So we hear no grain food is bad and grain food is bad. I think everyone just wants my money... Oh and human grade food is the best. This stuff is human grade. Have you seen what we feed humans??? If you cook for your dog, or give it raw, how do you ensure they are truly getting a balanced diet. Too many people telling me what to do. So. I put them on Purina Pro Plan and on Sunday's they get Sardines too. Unsalted, no oil Sardines. I call it Sardine Sunday. On top of everything I sprinkle this Honest Food. They are less itchy and we are spending less and my GSD hardly ever throws up.

Perfect food for my senior dog. He loves the flavor and consistency. I love the ease of preparation and the healthy ingredients. So much better than canned dog food that you have to refrigerate and reheat.
