Just what I needed at my barbershop

This is an amazing apparatus - one little issue….Phone holder rod/stick was a bit longer than expected which made adjustments more compromised

The first box I was sent was strangely missing multiple parts. So I had to send it back and get another one. I followed the instructions to put it together. The instructions are okay except step 6 should really be step two. There's a piece that the instructions tell you to put on last but it is impossible to do that without taking something apart that you had put together earlier. Not a huge deal but still. The product itself is good. The light is exceptionally bright. It can face forward or face down. So if you wanted to record yourself or do your makeup you could face it towards you. Or you could face it down like a desk lamp or to do a puzzle or something. The storage tray is quite big and works as a lazy Susan. I put two number two pencils in it for reference so you could see the size. The light at the top rotates up and down and the arm that can hold your phone also rotates. Everything is completely adjustable. Bear in mind that this is quite a tall lamp if everything is in the upright position. About 2 ft tall.

Ordered this for two reasons - one, I needed better lighting on my desk - I had a novelty light on mine which was super cool, but not powerful enough to really make a difference. And two, I wanted something to put on my desk that would allow me to film short form content from here, which I often do, without needing to get out a tripod and a bunch of other things. I already have a rig for this for other content creation, so I try to keep my desk a bit more minimalist.This item solved BOTH problems in one fell swoop. Awesome!!! It's a great light - super easy to put together, super stable, and it has a lot of "extras" with it that make it incredibly handy for content creation, Zoom or FaceTime calls, or really any other purpose where you need lighting near your phone for clear shooting.Here is what this light is "all about" - you get the ring light which is not a ring but solid - and it's LED so it's bright and can be adjusted to be cool, warm, natural, and then micro adjusted based on desired brightness. The light portion has 180 degree movement, making it incredibly versatile for a variety of reasons.Then, you have a holder which you can put your phone in below it, making it a stable and handy spot to shoot from. The holder is nice quality and will accommodate even a bigger phone, which is great. It also has GREAT multi-directional movement where you can adjust it with ease to wherever you need to in order to get the shot you want.The bottom is multi-functional - you have a spot to put pens/pencils etc and then a round Lazy Susan style base that serves to hold more supplies OR you can use to shoot from above. If you do beauty videos etc this is going to be especially useful, but really...it's a nice feature for way more reasons than that. If you are a makeup artist, this is also perfect for you since it gives you "that good lighting" plus you can keep your tools in the rotating bottom for easy access and the pen holders are great for brushes etc.That storage space is a good size so you can put a lot of stuff there and it keeps your desk uncluttered and neat. excellent! The fact that it rotates 360 degrees is just gravy, really :)A unique feature of this that I have seen before but not even close to being done as well as this one - it comes with a number of colored filters that you can put on the light portion - this gives you literally infinite color options for any reasons you want or need. They are super easy to snap on and take off, and the filters run the spectrum of basic colors with a few bonus filters. I have owned a lot of ring lights, ranging from small clip on ones to big, commercial purpose ones and I can't say that I have EVER seen one THIS size and at this price point come with this many color options and still maintain it's ring light DNA in the design. That makes this a fantastic deal at $66 for the kit, especially since you can use this for SO many different purposes. And since it's made well, there is no doubt that it will last for a long time, too.It's not often that I am impressed with a lighting fixture since I work with them every day, especially ones like this which are for a "home user" but this one...? VERY impressive. I can't recommend it enough - if you buy just ONE desktop filming rig/light combo - you will not regret choosing this one. A solid 5 star product in every way!!

I wish it was a tab more sturdy. The light is bright but not as bright as you’d imagine through the pictures.

This is a review of the XIANYANBAO branded “Selfie Light Kit for Desk and Laptop, 55W Dimmable Full Screen Ring Light.” I wanted one because …it is actually not a ring light! It is more like a photographer’s fill light. And that is its main strength.This is in fact not a “ring light” and that is GOOD THING. How many times do you see images with a ring in a person’s iris? It does not look natural. If bright enough, ring lights often cause glare and create a harsher and flatter image.This full screen FILL LIGHT instead has a far more diffuse array of corn LEDs spread across a 10.5 inch surface. This allows the light to be overall brighter yet softer as the point sources are from far more directions. Positioned high or to the side it is not going to be visible as a reflection in your eye to the camera – so less distracting. Fill lights are much better than ring lights for adjusting lighting direction, softer quality, yet better contrast without glare. The directionality makes for more interesting perceived depth. Better if you want to highlight objects or products.There is a clamp on a boom arm. That can be used to position a cellphone as camera but that appearance may appear a bit clunky. I like that it can be detached – or – used to hold a separate (not included) LED lamp for adding more creative lighting effects. Such as using it to create intentional shadows to highlight a product’s design.In summary: this is much closer to a professional photographer’s FILL LIGHT than a ring light. In fact, the vendor may want to call it a portable fill light, as it is MUCH better than a ring light! That distinguishes it from the many, many ring lights out there.
