I have a professional office with open deign high-ceiling area for multiple desks and no room dividers. Poor lighting quality has always been a problem from the eight recessed "CAN" light fixtures. These were originally intended for 75 watt incandescent PAR 30 bulbs, but I later switched to 50 watt halogen which helped but the lighting was still not as bright as we all wanted, partially due to the much higher ceiling.The thought of ripping out the ceiling and replacing all of these older technology CAN fixtures was not something I wanted to deal with, then I came across these super-bright LED fixtures designed for retrofit existing recessed ceiling fixtures and requiring no modification to the existing fixture or the power wiring.When I say these are bright, I mean these can be anything from cool to blindingly bright, depending on the setting of the color adjustment switch. Since this switch is not readily accessible after the retrofit is completed, I first left the first light conversion left hanging out of the existing recessed fixture opening then tried each of the settings to find the color temperature and brightness level I liked. Once this setting was found, the switch setting for each fixture was easy to set before positioning the new LED fixture into the housing.Mounting is easy and requires no special tools. The old ceiling trim ring is first removed and will not be needed. These new LED fixtures include their own surface trim ring attached which is much larger than the original trim ring which helps cover any oversized or mis-matched opening in the ceiling around the existing metal CAN. Two spring type clips are attached to the new LED fixture which simply hold the fixture tight against the ceiling without any screws.Wiring is as easy as screwing in a lightbulb as that is all you need to do. A lamp base the exact same size and shape of a lightbulb is included for each LED lamp, and these include a wiring "pigtail" and plug that simply screws into the base for the original light bulb, then the plug end fits into a small wiring plug on the new LED fixture.The LED lights only require 7 watts to power, so you will see an instant reduction in the electrical power needed for multiple replacements. While not all LED lights are dimmable, these will operate on a dimmer switch circuit with the correct dimmer. These LED lights specifically work with multiple dimmer models from LUTRON, but you should verify if you plan to dim there. While these LED fixtures carry a 7-year warranty, they are not intended for exterior applications.We are very pleased with the lighting quality now and only wish I had made the switch much sooner.

These super easy to install 6 inch recessed LED can lights by Sunco are very well made. They are extremely bright at 1,000 lumens and are dimmable. They are also switch selectable for their color temperature, which I really love. In most situations I prefer 5,000K to 6,000K color temperature, but there are times when a warmer look is more appropriate. The price for 12 of these top quality lights is amazing and they look fantastic! These recessed LED lights were just what I needed to upgrade the old 1980s can lights in my home. They work well and look good, and I like how they have a selector on the back that elts you adjust the light temperature from a warm 2700k all the way up to a bright white 7000k. The power consumption is low at 10W per light for a equivalent of 75W. They are also dimmable, but I didn't try that feature as I don't have a dimmer switch.The lights were fairly easy to install. Take out the old bulb and casing from your can light, then screw the adaptor into the socket, attach the light via the orange clip, and push the whole unit up into the outer part of the can. It is a bit fiddly to get the two clips in there correctly and the light seated flat against the ceiling, but not too bad. I put up 9 of these in about an hour. Just remember to set the light temperature you want prior to pushing the light up into the can. I forgot one time and had to remove it and change the switch on the back of the light. Not a big deal and totally my fault but seating the light twice was not fun. Once seated, the fit was great and they look really nice on my ceiling. Much better than the old, yellowed cans that were there before.The lights are a great value for money at $64.99 at time of review, which is less than six bucks a light. Super affordable when you consider the price of an LED spotlight bulb alone. I only gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because on one light, one of the tabs for the springs that holds the light into the can didn't work and so the metal spring would not stay attached to the light housing. Also, on one light the black wire had not been inserted into the orange clip. Not a big deal. I just pushed it into the hole on the clip, and it worked fine after that, but still...All in all, a very affordable way to upgrade your can lights without replacing them completely.

These lights ended up being a great upgrade for my space. They have a clean, modern look and put out a bright, even light that really opens up the room without any harsh glare or dim corners. The overall quality feels a step above the typical budget fixtures you see online. Nothing feels flimsy, and once they’re in the ceiling, they sit flat and secure with no gaps or rattling.​Installation was very straightforward, even without being a professional. The only part that took a minute was figuring out the metal latches; you do have to fiddle with them a bit and angle them just right to get everything to clip in properly, but once you get the hang of it, each light goes in quickly. After that, they feel solidly built and give the impression they’ll last a long time, which makes me feel confident I won’t be climbing back up to fix or replace them anytime soon. Overall, they’re bright, well made, and easy enough to install that they’re an easy recommend if you’re updating recessed lighting.​

I'm a fan of the Sunco brand in general, I have renovated several single family homes and I use their lights whenever I am opening up the ceiling. They are so much more cost efficient than leaving the original lighting in place and they add an air of elegance to a property that is hard to get without modern down lighting. It makes potential buyers, potential tenants, and my wife all happy.I recently bought a new house to live in, and it came with original screw-in E27 ceiling bulbs. I'm not opening up the ceiling because the house is already in good shape, and it just needs a little update to those lights. So these retrofit style lights are the perfect solution. Screw in the "tail" just like a regular bulb, and then clip on your light and snap it into the ceiling. Perfect.The units are 7.5" wide, so if your old lights have a beauty ring that is smaller than 7.5" and got painted over, the new light will hide any paint color change. And they fit in a recessed can of either 5" or 6".Color temperature is user-selectable via slider switch on the back from 2700 to 6000K and they put out a lot of light at 10W (roughly a 75W incandescent bulb equivalent).Love Sunco lights.
