This camera was a good idea in theory, but in real life, it is just a total failure. The first issue is the sketchy app that glitches, closes and will not stay connected to the camera. When it does connect, it prompts me repeatedly to enter a credit card for a 4G subscription of nearly twenty bucks a month.... Just....no. Set up was a nightmare and failed overall.Now, all of that being said we saw a nice picture 3 times before the entire system failed. The app connection has never held more than a few minutes. And the camera battery is completely dead and will not recharge. We tried both the included solar panel and bringing the entire setup inside to charge with real electric power. There is no value here. Honestly, just skip this thing and buy one from an established, known brand name.

As far as the camera goes - it is sturdy, easy to install, the solar panel is nice and strong and easy to connect and install too. NOW, as far as the app that you need to use to connect the camera? (CloudEdge) well, it worked initially for the first couple of weeks, and I could log in, see video, record videos, take screenshots, make the camera swivel around through the app - it was great..... but now, since the "trial" period is over, it prompts me with the message "The trial data plan has expired, please top up in time, " and while you're not supposed to need a subscription to use the camera and see live video, it no longer works for me. I click on the camera to see my yard (as I did before when it worked well) and it will say "getting video stream" and then "Trying to connect to device, wait and try again later," it will stay in this pattern for hours. I've been trying every day for a week. I powered the camera on and off, I uninstalled and installed the app again, and nothing, just a black screen with those error messages. I am not going to pay $19.99/month for their "Basic 4G" plan, all I want is to be able to log into the app and see real-time, which you're supposed to be able to do. For this reason, because I can't see anything anymore, and the camera is no longer connecting to the app, I am giving it 2 stars.

For some reason I can never get these "4G" cameras to work correctly if at all. It always becomes a research project. Anyways . . .The camera and solar panel are nice and well finished. The solar panel especially is more rugged than others that I have.The white plastic will probably yellow after about six months outside but that's expected.It is probably no better or worse than other 4G cameras regarding the features, adjustability, responsiveness, etc. but for now, I think I'll stick with the Wifi cameras.Eventually, I will get this going, I'm sure.

I picked up this 4G LTE cellular solar security camera specifically for my brother-in-law to use at his work site. He needed something reliable to keep an eye on things after hours and deter any potential theft.Right out of the box, the camera feels pretty heavy, which is usually a strong indication of a quality build. We have a few areas around our property that we would love to be able to monitor, but with no electricity or WiFi nearby it's problematic. We have been searching for a cost-effective solution for a while now, and finally found one.The solar charger fixes one of the obvious issues, negating the need for a power source. It keeps the camera well-charged during a normal day of sunlight. The cellular uplink was easy enough to add to our existing account, the the cost was reasonable all things considered.This camera sets up quickly and easily and covers the area we want effectively. Picture quality is good, particularly for a remote camera, and images are bright and easy to discern. Motion detection works well, with far fewer false positives that I would expect for a camera in this price range.I'll be honest - for the money, I didn't expect much. I was very surprised and pleased that this camera performed so well, and expect to pick up a couple more for remote deployment in other areas that we need to be able to monitor.

I tried to like this but there is nothing quality here. The setup was not easy and ultimately failed. The app is sketchy but seemed to work well enough but the camera never connected. I spent 2 day trying everything I could but could not get the 4g to work or the camera to connect via Bluetooth. I am a network engineer so this isn't beyond my normal scope, so I believe there is a problem with the camera or the software. I wasn't able to test how it handles notifications, motion detection or the general security benefits of the camera. The solar panel included doesn't seem all too robust and I doubt it will put out much power. Seems like the other reviews of the app mentioned issues the recent update broke a lot of the features of the app. All in all this seems like a really cheaply made camera with no qc. If it works for you it will be a coin flip.

While this camera arrived in pristine condition and there didn't seem to be any design flaws on the external surfaces or with the parts themselves, after a number of tries, I was not able to get this camera to sync with this device's phone app. I therefore, could not get it to function as intended.I gave this 2 stars nevertheless because I assume that I may have just received a defective item. The craftsmanship of this camera appears fine and it seems very sturdy. The problem is just that I could not use it. I even tried searching the internet for another app that could be used to sync with this camera but I couldn't find any.Note: My wife tried to contact the vendor, but we received no customer support or even a response. My customer suggestion, therefore, is to steer clear from this camera and find yourself a functioning alternative.My suggestion to the vendor or manufacturer is to provide a viable customer support email or phone to resolve issues with your products.
