Solve the problem with the latest snow fall.We had an aluminum ramp built this summer to allow senior two legs and four legs get in and out easier. The standard ramp is 36”Wx72”L, and this mat is a perfect fit.The problem we had after the first snow was the ramp iced and became a slip hazard, so I started to look into the option to solve the problem.I tried heat tracing using 5W/ft heat cables to wrap on the ramp, but it’s not ideal. The snow melt a couple of inches radius from the heat cables, so I skeptically ordered this snow melting mat.The bottomline is the product works perfectly. It’s a solid built mat, rated for walking on it, regardless to say it’s non slippery design. However, there’s a strong rubber smell when it’s out of the box, and the remaining scent in the shipping box was so strong and I had to leave it outside of the garage.It’s not an inexpensive product, but the price does pay off the safety and convenience.

These mats are very easy to set up, and work quickly to melt snow and ice. I bought one in December and just bought a second one to cover most of my composite deck. The decking is very slippery when covered with snow and water but the mats make it safer because the rubber gives more traction and it keeps you from slipping. Glad I bought them!

Worked once, prevented ice buildup both on the front steps and roof. Then I took them down and stored them while it was mild temperatures out. Then we had some snow again which was starting to build up on the roof, tried to re-deploy them to prevent ice buildup. The wire between the two pads then started sparking. I was nearly electrocuted while standing on a ladder. All caught on video. Dropped them to the ground immediately and said a prayer that I was still alive. The connector wire is pretty weak and apparently broke somehow; not sure if it was when it was being moved or what. They were not used in such a way that this defect should have been possible. They are safely in the garbage and I’ll just have to use the old roof rake and broom the remainder of this winter.

It works just as I hoped...I have two outside dog kennels that are going to be moved on the 20th of February. Of course we ended up getting a ton of snow and some have become compacted snow/ ice combo. This needs to be removed so the mule can haul the kennels out. I bought one of these to try, now I did put it upside down on purpose as well and it took care of the ice spot in that area in a few hours. It was probably done before I came out as it sort of had stuck to the ground but it came lose with ease.Honestly, I wish I had a ton more of them. This is also used with a 200 feet of 10 gage outside rated electrical cable.I was personally super pleased...

Works great. I live in NH and we’ve had a lot of snow. It keeps the front clear. I’ll buy more for the stairs next year.

The mat works well to reduce snow and ice build up. We have it leaving to our hot tub which allows us to get in and out without freezing feet. Ensure you have a plug in near by or have an extension cord handy.

Worked perfectly for 1 month and 6 days. Now it triggers my exterior GFCI outlet all the time, if I'm lucky it works for 5min. before it triggers it again. After researching into the matter a bit deeper, it says that what triggers my outlet, is usually a Ground leak. This product doesn't have a Ground plug (and/or system).

I have a short, urban sidewalk so this one mat covers the whole length of walkway. I had knee surgery so I cannot twist and shovel snow. I calculated that for Ontario electricity rate I can run this for two hours for about 25cents. So I put it on a smart timer, set to run for two hours every day. For the winter, this will cost me about $25. It is wonderfully effective at melting the heaviest snowfall and by running it daily it keeps the puddling on the surface (meltwater) evaporated too. When I got it, I had already put down a coconut coir carpet off my porch and onto the walkway which I have done for 45 years. So I put this on top, figuring it makes a bit of drainage mat and insulation layer beneath the mat. My walkway is dead flat so the snow melt puddles on the surface.For all its good points, two flaws: the "grip" texture on the surface is pathetic. The mat is extraordinarily slippery when you have some snow or slush on the bottom of your winter boots. I am wondering about putting a slush mat on top just for more grip ... andstarting in mid February it wont work anymore because the ground fault indicator (GFI plug) shuts it off instantly. I have trouble shot this by swapping extension cords, outlets, and components, but it still goes off. Frustrating. I suspect its the couplings where the power cords join but until today this was frozen in the winter ice. If it dries I then can wrap it waterproof plastic.

These do not work well in Canadian climates. Snow eventually melts after brushing most of it off but refreezes underneath making them extremely icy. Also, does not feel warm to the touch for at least 6 hours.Will not buy more
