29 year old male here and I cannot believe how much time and money I was wasting going to the barber for a simple buzz-cut. This clipper set makes the process so easy with the color-coded system. It's not really advertised but the lowest guard in the kit is a 1/2 which is what I use.Super simple to take care of and oil--all the info you need is in the instructions provided. This really is dummy-proof as I have never cut my hair myself before but with the help of a door-hanging 360 mirror, and this clipper set, it really is easy.The only thing I wish made more sense is the way it charges. For this particular model, when you plug it in, the light just stays red--it never goes off, so one never really knows if it is fully charged or not which is dumb. So I just leave it for an hour or so. Very nice that this kit includes a little oil dropper so you don't need to buy a separate one at the beginning and they also include a wonderful little brush to help swipe away the hair on the clippers and guards.I do appreciate the durable case that is provided too making transport and storage a breeze. I highly recommend.

I'm new to Wahl. And I tell you what, I'm never going back to my old clippers.I've bought Remingtons since my 20s because I was low on the economic food chain, they were cheap and serviceable, and I wanted to spend my money on other things. They were a pain to use if I waited too long between shaves, and quit after 2 years or so, which I assumed was normal.After my last set went Amityville on me (they started randomly turning on when I wasn't in the room! 😱), I was getting frustrated with the old pattern of short lifespans, difficulty cleaning, and bizarre dying behaviors, and decided to shop around. I was willing to pay a little extra to see if spending a little more would get me better quality. After some research, I settled on Wahl.Let's start with power: the motor on this thing is insane. While I was shopping, my old clippers were completely unusable, and the shag was starting to build up. 3 weeks I went without a shave. When these came in and I used them for the first time, I cleared away that 3 weeks of shaggy growth in under 2 minutes. I have pretty fine hair, but I have a LOT of it, and when it gets that thick I've always had to slowly push at my undergrowth in nudges to get anywhere, and go over it a couple times after that. This thing? I not only didn't have to do the threshing-tractor-vs-jungle nudge, I cleared every section of hair in ONE PASS.Ease of use: I'm a full-grown adult, and I STILL appreciate the color coding. Even if I'm tired and not paying the best attention, "RED IS ME" is pretty simple to remember. For families and teens just learning to be their own barbers, it would definitely make it more convenient.Clear instructions: the instruction guide is clearly worded with photos to illustrate uses/techniques (I have a simple undercut, but again, to someone with more varied needs, this is more clarity than you get with pretty much any instruction manual these days). The directions on maintenance and cleaning are simple and clear as well.Speaking of cleaning: I had a problem with my last set of clippers with hair getting stuck in the body of the clippers and not coming out. These shuck cut hair well away from themselves, and anything that does start to build up is easily swept away post-shave with the cleaning brush provided. The guards are similarly easy to clean out.I can't comment on longevity because they're still pretty new, but as they don't have a lot of the small issues that lead to early death, I expect them to last a good while. The fact that they have the ease of cordless and the guaranteed power of a cord, I've always found that I get a little more life with clippers with a cord option.Bottom line, these clippers are powerful, easy to use and versatile. (Did I mention the ear guards? Ear guards! I've never seen those in home grooming kits before.) If you're new to home shaving, or just want to up your game with a better product, get these.

Just let me start by saying I like Wahl product. I’ve owned this cordless trimmer for 18 months now and has traveled with me to many parts of the world without failure. I wear a buzz cut and find that It trims evenly and does a great job overall while I’m traveling. The trimmer comes with a great assortment of trimmer attachments. Just keep the blades lubed and you should be good to go. I only have one negative complaint; the trimmer is slightly bulky for traveling. A smaller unit would be ideal. However, it’s not a show stopper for me. This trimmer is an impressive workhorse that gets the job done right.

Bought this to cut my own hair as a college student. I've never done it before, but this helped simplify things. The ear taper guard was really helpful. The guards being colored might not be too big of a deal since guards are marked clearly, but as a visually impaired individual, I do appreciate them.Overall, I think they're worth it. They cost as much as a visit to the barber, so I feel like just using them once has already paid off. And although my cut isn't anything special, it's definitely decent enough considering it's my first. And I feel like I'll get better with more practice. I'm looking forward to my next self-haircut session with these.I only gave it 4 stars because I do think the combs that it came with are a little cheap feeling. Like they are very flexible. I wonder if the teeth can break off if you're not careful with them. That's my only complaint. The clippers are great, the guards are great, the bag is fine, and the scissors do what scissors do.

So far so good. Did not expect it upon ordering but, Can not always judge ahead of time. Following instructions is key when trying something new, It charged completely and was not as loud as some had said. It took some time getting use to, I'm use to an electric/corded one. It's light weight enough that my hand and arm did not get tired. It did not cut as well as i hoped for but, May get better in time. Everything needed in kit was there.

Wow! These do the job. I trim my husband’s hair every two weeks so this clipper/trimmer paid for itself in a month. It took me no time at all to learn how to use it. Very simple to use.

I have been using some old Wahl trimmers for a long time (probably about 30 years) and decided it was time to upgrade to cordless. These are really nice. Much quieter than the old ones and a great cut! I really like that it came with a 1/2” and a 1 1/2” in addition to the standard blade guards which helps me cut my own hair perfectly. I would definitely recommend these if you are looking to either upgrade from an old pair or buy something new.
