This has been a game changer for us. We live in a 1300 sq ft single story home in AZ, tile floors & area rugs. One small dog, no kids. Vacuuming and traditional mopping every other week was just spreading dirty water. I looked at a Hoover and Bissell but didn't want to push around both a vacuum and an electric mop. Then I looked at the i5 and 105 combos but they didn't seem like they'd be any better than a Swiffer pad. If I was going to spring for a Roomba, I wanted it to really mop the floors.I grabbed the 405 Combo during Prime Days and it's been worth every penny. The machine was easy to unpack & assemble and the app was easy to use. You just have to read the instructions. The 405 quickly mapped out our home, and I could easily divide the map into rooms, name them and define "keep out" areas. Cleaning starts with selecting the area/rooms and a touch of a button in the app (or asking Alexa to tell the Roomba to clean whatever room I want it to).I can set up "routines" in the app to schedule vacuuming and/or mopping at specific times on certain days. We've been scheduling the 405 to vacuum & mop the kitchen, entry & hall (high traffic area) at 5 am twice a week. It is a vacuum cleaner, so of course we hear it. But not as much as my Dyson. We're waking up anyway so we just close the bedroom door while it heads to the kitchen on the other side of the house. It's refreshing to get up to clean floors.I love that the 405 does all the work. All I have to do is fill/empty the water tanks (we use the Roomba cleaning solution). The home base empties the dust bin, washes the mop pads then recharges for the next cleaning. The iRobot easily cleans our whole home without recharging. It only returns to the base to rewet the mop pads when it needs to. The tank is at the base, rather than in the iRobot. The app monitors the "life" of the edge brush, mop pads, roller brush & filter, and how full the dust bag is. I don't expect to need to replace anything for 3 months. This has totally been worth the investment. Now if it could just dust the furniture and clean the toilet...
Like many of the other unhappy reviewers, my robot is ridiculous. Out of the box was easy, setup was easy, first mapping of my house was easy. Then I started cleaning. It cannot handle throw rugs -- like ever. My other robot vac before this was smart enough to just -- ya know -- clean them. This one, it cannot. Fine, I say, I'll toss the area rugs on the patio while the robot is cleaning. The mopping seemed worlds better than my old vac/mop. Unlike my other vac/mop, this one just has two rotating pads that it goes to the station to get wet, and then after 50, 100, or 150 sq ft (you set it up in the app) it will go back and clean the pads. This honestly seems to work fine. But after day 1, it couldn't connect to the app. I started with the chat customer service - and then got disconnected by them for 5 min of inactivity -- while we were waiting for the vacuum to do something. With no way to get back in touch with that helper, I decided to call the toll free customer service line. Waited on hold for 30 minutes, then got someone who helped me for about 30 minutes. Had to do TWO factory resets. It continued to do odd things ("Push and hold the home button" "It started driving around while I'm doing that. I'm still holding it." "Hmm. That's odd." YES IT IS!). We did a map of just one room in my house to make sure it was working properly again. It was successful, in that it mapped one room and began vacuuming it while I was on the phone with him. He had me delete that map and then instructed me to just create a new map of the house. Started that process and then he called the ticket closed. But oh, no sir, it is not closed. After creating the map of the house, it says to check it in the app. Guess what? It still doesn't want to connect to my stupid app. Reset again. Mapped the house again. Failed again. Called customer service again. 30 minute wait again. Then he says the ticket needs to be escalated to the next level of support and they would get back to me within 24 hours. It's been over 48 hours and still nothing. Today, for fun, I factory reset it again. Success. I mapped the house. Success. I said, ok go clean. And then it stopped communicating with the app. App has no idea where it is, what it's doing. It's sitting on the stinking dock and the app is like, you might need to factory reset. I'm done with it. It drags the mop across the carpet -- doesn't lift the pads high enough. It gets tangled on everything (another reviewer said it seeks them out to eat them and I don't disagree). It actually got tangled up in a sandal. A freaking SANDAL. Like, how about you avoid the shoes?! And it eats the throw rugs. Every time. The vacuuming was sub-par. All along the area rug (the entire house flooring is tile, and we have area rugs and throw rugs throughout), there was a line of dirt. Last big thing for me, is the amount of hair that gets stuck in the main roller. My bot was making hecka racket, so I went to check the rollers. Sure enough there's a ton of dirt that's just hanging out, not getting sucked away. I pull out the roller to clean and the hair is wrapped up *under* the little green rubber roller. It's impossible to get out. And I agree with other reviewers - it's noisy. My other vac/mop is quieter and it's 10 years older. This is such a failure even at 50% off prime day savings, I would never recommend. It's going back.
I’m extremely impressed with the Roomba Vacuum & Mop 405! It performs so well during cleaning cycles, it’s fast and thorough. I have a dog and two young kids, and it’s been keeping my house noticeably cleaner. It picks up all the pet hair and manages to navigate around baby gear and toys quickly, without getting stuck or confused. The setup and use are super easy. I was amazed by how smart this robot is, it mapped my entire 1500 sq ft house in just about 10 minutes! My previous robot had to run nine full cycles to build a map and still got lost when sent to clean a specific room. The Roomba, on the other hand, goes straight to any room I choose, avoiding obstacles smoothly and moving at the same pace I would walk there myself. That’s a huge plus because I don’t have time to wait hours for it to finish a simple job.The cleaning quality is excellent too. It moves in neat rows, and the deep clean mode covers both vertical and horizontal directions. I also love having the option to vacuum only or use the mop feature when needed. The amount of time this Roomba has saved me is unbelievable. It’s honestly like comparing hand-washing clothes to using a washing machine, once you have it, you can’t imagine going back. With a 6-month-old baby, a 3-year-old toddler, and a dog, I just don’t have time to clean constantly, but I need to keep things tidy because of the pet hair. This Roomba has been a total life saver. The noise level is reasonable, a bit loud during deep clean or on carpet and rugs, and it does make a noticeable sound when it self-empties, but it’s no louder than a regular vacuum. Just something to keep in mind if you have a baby napping nearby.Overall, I’m so happy with this purchase. It’s efficient, smart, and truly makes my daily routine easier. Highly recommend to any busy household!
Una aspiradora completa y funcional para el precio.
Happy with the results and the easy function of setting the schedule and not having the worry about it.
Q está carísimo y no pude hacer la cancelación a mi me costó 14 mil y vean el precio ahora muy mal
Great house helper. You can schedule while everyone is out, and you can come home with a clean house. The device just needs to lower the noise when cleaning but overall good pick.
