This is my fourth Roomba and the first one with navigation and mapping capability. Setup was easy using the app and after its first mapping run it was good to go. It cleans well and I like the fact that you can tell it to do only specific rooms and also spot clean a specific 6’x6’ area using the app and its map. My only issue so far is with the battery. It takes a LONG time to fully charge and sometimes it will go home to recharge in the middle of a job even though it still shows 50% charge in the app. I thought about getting a replacement battery but they are almost impossible to find—iRobot doesn’t show them as available on its website, Amazon doesn’t sell them, and I could only find one seller on eBay and he only had one available. This could be a problem.
Purchased a Roomba 105 from Amazon Warehouse. Like new mint condition. Box great. Contents not used. Minty fresh and sealed. First two days of use and the green side brush, which is now a snap on by redesign vs held in place with a screw. It took two days to find the dislodged brush in my house.Contacted iRobot support who at first was helpful, got my info and offered to send me a replacement side brush. Minutes later I received an email from the same CS rep saying, “iRobot will not honor the Warrantee” on an Amazon Warehouse purchased Roomba. Replacement part cancelled.” So, I looked at Reddit and saw many others with the same issue of the side brush. I no longer trust iRobot or Roomba quality. Buyer beware. Can’t trust a product that falls apart out of the box.Additional: I gave this unit a third and final run. Discovered what I believe was causing the side brush to detach. It was snagging on minor obstacles and the occasional power cord against the wall or some minor form of obstacle such as a pet toy. It doesn’t take much. Just running over it creates enough of an It doesn’t take much. Just running over it creates enough of a problem to dislodge the brush. My older 692 Roomba with two rollers and a bigger filter in the bin picked up a lot more cat fur from the carpet when it would go on runs in comparison.I guess I should t Roomba customer care for declining to take care of the brush issue because it was obtained through Amazon warehouse, so warranty voided. It set me off on the path to finding a better reviewed and spec vacuum robot. I went with a Roborock Q10 S5 instead for just a little bit more money. Update: The Q10 was a bust. Would never return and dock with its charging base. It would get within a foot and spin, then try again and again for 30 minutes. Some folks blame a botched firmware update. It’s a known issue. I returned it as crap an I’m now trying a Dreame.
Tried Eufy and Shark. Returned both due to either app problems, insufficient suction, and would not continue cleaning after recharge. I paid over 225 for both each. And ended up with this roomba for 149. Less money, better quality, app is absolutely superior to eufy and shark!
I purchased the Roomba 105 on a recent sale for ~$200 and have never owned a robo vacuum before. I'm mostly aware of the much older models that bump navigate around homes and do a mediocre job of cleaning. I recently read about the implementation of Lidar for improved mapping in the latest line of Roombas so I thought I'd finally try it out. My first impression of the app is a very bad one. Setting up and connecting the Roomba was very difficult due to the app not detecting the roomba or failing half-way through the connection process. It took me the better part of an hour to get it all setup. After the initial setup, the mapping process was quick and worked very well. You can then use the app to modify rooms, create "no clean zones", and setup routines. However, most of this doesn't work well as the app errors constantly whenever you try and do most of those modifications. After charging the roomba a bit (charging is very slow) I tried it out, as the app map was more-or-less setup correctly after the initial scan. I'm shocked how good the roomba navigated the house with very minimal bumping into things during the cleaning process. When it does bump into something, it is a very light bump, but in general you can tell that the sensors and Lidar do an amazing job of helping the roomba nearly touch every surface without actually touching, so it cleans around edges of rooms and furniture pretty well. The roomba starts each room by cleaning the edges before cleaning in a back-and-forth grid pattern so that it really gets every square inch of the room. It all cleans very well in the dark, so you don't need the lights on. In general, I think it cleans very well except for some spots near cabinet toe kick space since the roomba is a tad too tall to get into that space. It navigates back to its charging station afterwards without any issue. I checked the dust bin after each room to see what it's actually doing and lots of dust and other junk is definitely getting picked up! To improve the cleaning I would recommend clearing the floor of small charging cables and setting "no go zones" in areas where there are thicker power cords as it tends to get caught up in those. Thin, light rugs also seem to flip up on the edges as the roomba passes over which gives it some issue as well, but it seems to do a good job of powering through those issues or backing up and trying a different way around. It goes over small thresholds without issue. In general, I think the Roomba 105 is a very good vacuum-only robot and it makes me want to try out more advanced versions in the future. I'm mostly docking 1 star because the app is terrible in its current state and I hope iRobot puts some significant effort into updating and maintaining the app. The app is integral to the roomba useage and I think people's experience will be heavily dependent on how well the app works in the future.
The iRobot Roomba 105 Vac is super easy to use and cleans in neat, organized rows thanks to LiDAR navigation. The suction power is impressive and works great on all floor types. I love that it self-charges and keeps my home clean with minimal effort. Highly recommended!
Got this for our parents to help control pet hair build up between vacuum days.It has worked great. You can map all the rooms and set schedules on what rooms need cleaning on what days. We have a cheaper model for doing the same thing but it doesn't have mapping and just bounces around so regardless of what model or brand you choose get the mapping.I give it a 5 star because it's doing exactly what it was purchased for.So if you have pets and want help keeping the floors clean between vacuum days these little robots do an awesome job.
Works great. Does carpets and floors with a separate pattern and the track marks make it look like they are clean for my BnB guests. The battery does not have enough capacity, even for my very small floor-plan.
Après seulement 3 mois d’usure normal la batterie ne garde pas sa charge.
Love the vacuum, but the charger does not appear to connect well to the vac. Therefore it does not run long as not charged up enough.
Fait une bonne job facile à configurer.
