My usual go-to is a $8 bottle of red conditioner from Sally's, and I can't say this did any better at keeping my red actually RED than it did. It's not the greatest conditioner either (slightly drying), but not the worst.So why give it 5 stars?It does keep my color red. I don't even use it every time I wash. I leave it on very wet hair for about 3 minutes. (The color is more vibrant in person than in my picture, but-- I last dyed it red 6 months ago. That's right, that's a 6 month old dye job, and still pretty freaking red.)Now, my Sally's conditioner did that too. But this one is superior in a couple of ways.1, the color is brighter.2, it's the least staining color conditioner I've ever used. My hands are 95% clean after I use it. I never have to scrub my forehead or ears or the scalp of my part to get off the excess dye. Which is awesome.Scent is meh. It's not bad, but it doesnt make me excited to use it. Since it's not the best at conditioning, I mix it with some better conditioner. And of course, if you want some of the more showstopping reds that others have, I have NO DOUBT it CAN be done with a dry application and a longer time. My own preference was just to keep it crayon red with as little work, time, and damage as possible.Oh, and I have medium brown roots that it stains a nice dark cherry. Don't expect miracles on virgin hair, this is meant as a refresh for dyed hair, but it does indeed deposit on virgin hair. And on gray hair. My gray streak comes out a slightly brighter red than my dyed hair.

I’ve been using this for years. I love this product. Keeps my hair red between salon visits. One con…. Hard to get off the shower walls even with a magic eraser.

This is the product that my hair stylist used to dye my black hair. She would mix this with her hair dye concentration to first change the color of the hair and recommended getting this product to keep the color in the hair vibrant. You do not need to apply this product everyday. The results are amazing and my hair does not come out looking dry.To brighten your hair, I recommend that you apply this before taking a sharing and leaving it on for about 15-20 minutes. If you are just going for a touch-up, just apply in the shower and leave it on for 2-5 minutes. The conditioner does bleed and can stain if it dries so prepare yourself properly.

I do not write reviews but I felt COMPELLED to write this one because I want to shout it on mountain tops how frickin good this is. My red hair is extremely hard to maintain because, well, anyone who has red hair knows it is the hardest color to maintain and it only stays vibrant for about a week. I have dyed my hair red off and on for several years and I can tell you with confidence that this is BY FAR the BEST product I have EVER used to keep my hair as vibrant as the day I dyed it, if not MORE vibrant than the day I dyed it. I am literally in shock. I use both the viral color depositing shampoo and the color depositing conditioner together. The conditioner won’t do the best work on actually conditioning the hair, but I mixed it with my sulfate free color extend magnetics conditioner by Redken and my hair is absolutely silky smooth and so soft. I literally cannot get over how well this shampoo/conditioner works. I am in awe. This is an absolute MUST have if you want to keep your hair vibrant!!! Wow wow wow. Thank GOD I found this!!!

This worked very well but will stain your shower. It easily dyes any light colored hair. My son used it after the purple he had came out and he was left with blond in his almost black hair. This product turned it a very red color at home and was easy for him to use in the shower.

Ok…I love to have my hair colored burgundy(ish). I’ve always ran into an issue with the color “washing out” quickly after having it colored. It’s SO frustrating! My hair just never has seemed to hold color very well.I went to get my hair done. I explained the situation to my hair stylist. I explained that I was tired of spending my money to color my hair when it just washes out (practically within the first month). She asked me if I had ever tried a shampoo/conditioner that helped with color control. I wasn’t sure what she was talking about. She explained a product like this (a shampoo and conditioner specifically for red colored hair). I let her know I hadn’t. She highly recommended that I look into getting something like this product.I found this shampoo and conditioner. I was hesitant, but I thought I’d give it a try one last time. I can’t say how wonderful this product is! I would wash and condition my hair with this product, and it literally helped keep the color in my hair. The color stayed in twice as long (if not longer) than it usually does. ***Note*** It works best if you wash/condition your hair with cold water. Regardless, though, I wasn’t having to run back to the salon and spend another large amount of money just to have it colored all over again! I was thrilled!I must say that it is pricey. I wish it hadn’t cost so much money! Having said that, it was cheaper than going back to the salon every other month! Although it cost a lot, it ends up saving you a lot more money in the long run! The only other dislike I have about this shampoo and conditioner is the color. It is RED! I worried about it staining my shower, but it didn’t. It just made it harder to recognize if it was the conditioner, or the color, that was washing out of my hair. It was definitely not the color! You could tell as soon as I started combing my hair!I do suggest using the same shampoo, though. I don’t think you’ll end up disappointed! 😊I would highly recommend this product! It’s a miracle conditioner! It did wonders for my hair! I will definitely be using this moving forward!

I use this about once per month to maintain the red hair I have. When I accidentally drained my hair of the red by using the wrong shampoo, this conditioner brought my hair right back to it's ruby glory in just a single application.Things I loved:- It's super easy to use.- It's great between washes to maintain my colour.- One bottle will last between 4-7 applications for long hair (depending on how much of your hair is red)- It doesn't stain my skin very much.- It stays in for a fairly long time, even when I don't always use cold-water showers.Things I didn't love:- It dries out my hair a bit, and isn't recommended for use by itself as a conditioner, but that is easy remedied by washing with conditioner after use.- If you're not careful, it WILL stain whatever it comes into contact with when it comes to clothes, counters, shower curtains, etc.Would I recommend this? Absolutely I would! It's cheaper than trying to maintain at the salon, and I will absolutely buy it again when my current bottle runs out.

I love this conditioner. I have the shampoo as well, but the conditioner is amazing! I use this mixed in with my regular conditioner (for added moisture) every time I wash my hair (or every other time). It keeps my hair looking vibrant and fresh! If I ever feel like my hair is looking extra faded or needs added vibrancy, I will apply this to my hair like a mask and let it sit for 20 - 35 minutes (depending on how much of a rush I'm in). Use gloves if you're using this as a mask though!Pros:- very easy to use.- perfect to maintain my hair colour- One bottle will last me ~30 uses if used mixed with my conditioner or ~5 applications as a mask/dye- it stays! (even after washing my hair)Cons:- As a conditioner, it does not provide enough moisture to my hair, so I have to mix it in.- If you do not wear gloves, or you are not careful, this will stain if not washed immediately!(but once rinsed out it doesn't seem to transfer - but do not wear white collars immediately post application).

it's quite pricey but the color is really good, and lasted quite a long time. for a guy with medium length hair like me it lasted until my black hair grew out my bleached hair, which is a devent few months.

Im a very light brown and i followed directions on the bottle and im very happy with the result. Im no hairstylist, as long as you put gloves and try to not get your skine youll be happy !

I use it only about once a week because it’s kind of messy and not worth using unless you have some time to let it sit. I notice when I use it it’s a little splotchy, so having a comb in the shower might help so it gets on more evenly. It’s nice and does help the colour.
