Product Description This Light Bulb Changer Head Kit fits Standard, Floodlight & Recessed bulbs. The Standard and Floodlight heads have soft nylon grippers and a spring finger design ensuring a secure fit around the bulb. The Recessed Bulb head is a suction cup design that attaches easily and securely to any smooth surface floodlight-sized bulb and includes a string used to release the suction cup from the bulb. Caution - The Floodlight head should NOT be used for a bulb installed inside of a recessed can-type light. The Recessed Bulb head should be used for that application. All three heads fit the industry standard thread pattern found on our 16’ and 11’ 3-section aluminum poles as well as our 11’ 3-section steel pole. From the Manufacturer Light bulb changer kit, in a store display containing 6 units. The kit includes a recessed bulb changer, standard bulb changer (incandescent or screw in fluorescent), and floodlight changer. Pole not included.

The set works great. Our new home has a number of light bulbs that are out of reach for mortals even with a ladder. We have some areas with 24' ceilings. The kit works just as described. The suction cup mount works bet if you wet it (just a bit of spit on your finger to form a better seal. There is a piece of string that ties to a tab, that you pull on to release the seal to detach the light bulb. Now a couple of things. If the light bulbs you're trying to remove have been screwed in too tight previously, no tool like this will get it out. You'll likely need to call someone to do the initial removal and be upset at your builder or the prior owner. If you use this kit to install a bulb, you'll be able to uninstall.Second, removing bulbs - easy.Replacing bulbs - that's a bit more of a challenge. An Edison based bulb has almost no tolerance between the socket and bulb connection, and getting that perfect alignment 20+ feet in the air takes some practice. It is best to push and turn at the same time. If you're using a quality pole with this kit you'll "feel" it start to thread - can't explain it better than that.Kit works with just about any pole that has a universal thread on it.
I have a mini flood light that is attached to 30 feet ceiling. When the bulb burns out it has always been a real problem replacing since the light fixture is in the middle of the ceiling I would need a huge A frame ladder to reach it. Last year I bought a suction cup type bulb changer and that was a disaster. It was impossible to know when the bulb was attached and I would ended up dropping and breaking several bulbs. This Bayco kit has solved the problem perfectly. The way the "fingers" slip over the bulb provides a very positive indication when the bulb it attached. The little friction pads on the fingers do a great job of holding firmly onto the bulb so it can be screwed in or out.Congratulation to the engineers at Bayco, they have an excellent solution. There is no way to drop the bulb using this kit.The kit does include a suction cup. I am not sure why, maybe they include it so you can know how bad life would be if that is all you had. I suggest you just throw it away and stick to the two (large and small) grabber tools.
I want to be clear, it works perfectly for changing light bulbs, but you have to be careful. You must make the change with patience and care because it is fragile, if you apply a lot of force the ring can bend. You can repair it if it bends easily but if you break it you won't be able to use it anymore. If you do it carefully it is a perfect tool, it worked very well for me and I had no problems, your electrical installation must be well done or you could bring the complete electrical part 😂. It holds the light bulbs very well, and you can turn the piece without problem to remove them
I was skeptical of whether the suction cup would work worth a darn on a BR30 light that is 15 feet up in my vaulted ceiling. I used it on the end of an up-to-24 foot extension pole, of which I only needed about half the length to reach the bulb. Attached the string to the suction cup, applied a little spit wetness to the suction cup, and pressed the suction cup onto the bulb face. Had to slide the cup around a little to center on the bulb face. To my surprise, when I spun the pole counter clockwise, the old bulb turned to loosen! The process of installing the new bulb wasn't bad either, got it on the first try. Had to refresh the spit wetness a little on the suction cup, put the new bulb on the cup, pushed it in, lifted it up to the recessed light fixture, and turned it clockwise to tighten. Took a little maneuvering to get it started threading into the socket, but not bad. Mostly just trying to match the angle of the socket with the angle of the bulb threads.I chose this kit because it has exactly the bulb grabber features I need, one for high-up recessed BR30 or PAR 30/38 bulbs, regular "classic" light bulbs, and BR/PAR bulbs that are outside, e.g. in motion detector fixtures. So far, happy with this kit, and will update the review if it fails or struggles with other bulb replacement scenarios. I think I'll also use it with regular kitchen ceiling BR30 bulbs and a broomstick handle, because it might work better and safer and easier than tall stool and hand-operated replacement.
Got this bulb changer to work on most bulbs, but two of my old bulbs were screwed in so tightly that the bulb changer locking mechanism came loose. The problem is that each changer, of which there are three, has a thumb screw to lock down the changer on the threaded pole you'll need to reach bulbs. The thumb screw threads into plastic and so does not really lock tightly, and ultimately allows the changer to spin free. I will probably drill a hole into the threads on the extension pole and insert a cotter pin all the way through the changer and pole to lock it in firmly.
I will echo other reviewers - do not buy, it is useless and a waste of $40. The set screw is in plastic, and as you tighten it down against pole, it immediately starts to grind out the plastic. You cannot put enough pressure against the pole. When you try and unscrew the lightbulb, all it does is unscrew the fitting from the pole, leaving it hanging from ceiling. This is a really good example of cheap, poor engineering. Looks good in the package, nice idea - but they saved $0.08 by not putting a threaded grommet through the plastic and crippled the product. So easy to fix. Don't buy it.
I bought this product as I was in need of a light bulb changer kit that would work for recessed lighting in a vaulted ceiling. The Bayco light bulb changer kit along with an extension ladder in the 20ft range which I also purchased on Amazon (and shipped both free of charge as I am a Prime Member to Florida) worked like a charm for me. The product is everything I expected. It works great for changing recessed lighting -- which is a great plus as we had begun to try to live in the dark on our visits to our condo in Florida -- as we had no idea how we were supposed to get up so high to change those darn lights. To my surprise, this product generated sufficient torque and the grip provided the right control to remove the old bulbs and change them and put in new ones. This kit, an extension rod and ladder and the job was no problem.I was comfortable and confident while using it. I highly recommend this product.
We have 21ft ceilings in the entryway, and our study, and we don't have a ladder that allows us to reach those flood bulbs. I was originally looking at getting just the single changer for the flood size bulbs, but decided last second to go with this 3 piece kit. I'm so glad I did!!I don't have a need for the standard light bulb changer, and thought I would only need the one flood light changer. Attaching the changer to a painters pole that extends 15 ft it was really easy to get the bulb out. The problem was putting a new bulb in. Using that same changer it was a pain aligning the bulb to the socket because of the springs on the side. However, the suction cup works like a charm!!Once I started using the suction cup to put the new bulb in place the rest went incredibly fast.If you need to change light bulbs that are too high to reach with a ladder make sure you get a set of changers that has the suction cup attachment so you won't have any issues putting the new bulb in.
Was able to change a bulb in hard to reach location
Bought it not to change lightbulbs but to pick fruits from a very tall tree. Very effective!! Haha.
I bought this device over Christmas to remove my exterior Christmas pot light bulbs.....so that I wouldn’t have to climb a ladder and risk falling. (I have had multiple hip and knee surgeries.)I used the different grab pieces by screwing them onto a broom handle.Very simply and quickly I removed my five Christmas projector bulbs from under my roof overhang (soffit).Moments later I used the suction device with string release to add my usual year round pot lights.Using these tools was quick and very effective without me standing on any stool or ladder! When needed I will be using these tools to remove and replace interior pot lights ....while simply standing underneath them.Marvellous!I highly recommend this product.
Speedy delivery and satisfactory product. But be aware that regular broom and similar stick handles will probably be too large to fit on to the product. I finally found an old windscreen scraper that had a handle thin enough to fit. For a few cents more the manufacturer could supply a spare collar that would fit standard broom handles, and should consider doing so.
I used the flood ligh remover for my roof soffits light which is 20 feet high. The flood light piece worked really well and very easy to use. PS for the pole: I had a telescopic pole for window washing which I purchased through Amazon. I havent tried the suction piece yet but the other 2 are exellent.
