Backstory: was interested in the Dyson, then Shark, but couldn’t justify the cost. I have T3’s curlers and DryBars dry brush, so I had the individual tools.Sephora Sale, I saw the Bondi with great stars, could buy it for $150, so I immediately pulled the trigger. Ended up returning it, and bought this for $70 more during Black Friday. Including my review of both products in case it’s helpful for decision making.BondiInitially: I loved it. I could blow dry my hair in 5 minutes and do a quick blow out in 10-15 minutes.Additional thoughts: 1.) The appliance itself felt cheap compared to my T3, but I had no frame of reference for airstylers. 2.) I hated how hot the styler attachments got, I had to use my hot pad to remove them/put new ones on (like the different direction barrels). 3.) The curls do not last, but I really liked the circular brush/blow out style I was getting, so was still happy. 4.) The air suction isn’t strong, whatsoever. I don’t know the numerics of my hair type, but I am a natural blonde, very fine hair, slightly wavy, but it is very thick and quite long (natural waist maybe?). The air suction on the curlers would barely pick up any of my hair, I truly can’t imagine how it would work on coarser hair. I’m talking 1/3-1/2 of the hair I’d normally section/curl with my iron. 5.) I would get heat marks in my hair during curling, which was super alarming to me (I use protectant, but I do not color my hair)Then, I was using the circular brush, and the whole attachment snapped off. In investigating, the plastic of the the connection would get so hot that it would bend the plastic — making the attachments unusable.SharkImmediately, the appliance is more sturdy, substantial and feels quality. The difference feels like Bondi=Plastic, Shark=Metal.Speed: Dried my roots in 1 minute, root to tip in 4 min, and curled in an additional 9 min.Notable improvements:1.) Better materials2.) No troubles with the heat of attachments, there’s grips at the ends, but the attachements themselves don’t get as hot either making it super easy to change out3.) beautiful curls on the first try, and have lasted this far with no hairspray4.) huge improvement in air suction/strength, I can actually curl normal sections of hair5.) no heat marks thus far!I would highly recommend saving until the Shark is in budget!
I never write reviews, but I’m sure everyone is wondering what I was before I ordered - How does this compare to the Dyson version? I have been a loyal user of my Dyson Airwrap for 6 years. When I saw an influencer post about the Prime Day deal on this Shark Airwrap, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly pleased when I used it! I would say that the speed it dries, quality, and the overall finished hair product is as good as my Dyson. If anything, the Shark might even be more powerful. My only complaints are that the Shark is a good bit heavier than my Dyson, and the shaft part is longer which is a little awkward to hold if you are used to a Dyson. But, overall, this is a GREAT option if you aren’t wanting to spend an extra $450 for a Dyson.
I bought this with high expectations. It’s very easy to use and styles hair flawlessly. I noticed good frizz control and it gave me really good volume. It works best with hair rollers and pin curls. My hair doesn’t hold curls well so whenever I style my hair with the shark I always use those and the results are amazing. The attachments are all reliable and get the job done. The shark is sooooo flexible and when I say that I mean it has so many different options, like it has 3 different settings for both heat and how much air.. If that makes sense. Love it and is a way better option compared to the Dyson price wise
This is how my hair turned out after using the Shark FlexStyle for just 3 minutes on each side 😍. It gave me the most beautiful, natural-looking waves with so much movement and volume. Super quick, easy to use, and totally worth the hype!
UPDATED: After going through the troubleshooting guide on the shark site it helped with the overheating issue. It still takes forever to get my hair 100% dry with this unit, but it's a good tool to have. This product worked very well initially, but after less than a year of light use, it began overheating after just 2–3 minutes. Airflow is much weaker than when new, and the unit shuts off completely when any attachment is used, making it difficult to finish drying or styling. This was disappointing given the price and brand reputation. I otherwise liked the product and would be happy with a replacement if this issue can be resolved.
I am absolutely shocked! This works so well. I get salon blowouts every time. I had no idea it worked so well. I contimplated between Dyson , Babyliss and im glad I went with the Shark. My hair is curly , thick coarse hair and it to get smooth and straight with no damage. I can finally have great salon hair and heal my hair. I am so satisfied
I finally pulled the trigger on the Shark FlexStyle after eyeing both this and the Dyson Airwrap for a long time, and I’m really glad I did. I’ve had it for a couple of months now, and it’s become a staple in my hair routine.I already owned a Drybar hair dryer with a round brush attachment, so I felt pretty comfortable jumping into this. One of my favorite things about the FlexStyle is the versatility—you can swap out attachments depending on what you’re trying to do, whether that’s smoothing, adding volume, or going for curls.I’ll be honest though—I’m still not perfect at using it yet. During the process, things can look a little messy while I’m styling, especially as I’m working through sections. That said, the end result always turns out good, even if it doesn’t look super polished mid-style. I think it’s more of a learning curve than an actual issue with the tool. Even with that, I still really like it and reach for it often.I’ve also struggled a bit with getting my curls and volume to fully hold, but I realized a lot of that came down to the products I was using. Once I switched things up, it definitely helped, so I think product choice plays a big role with this tool.If you’re trying to achieve that 90s blowout vibe, I actually think this is easier—and maybe even less time-consuming—than using hot rollers. That’s just my personal opinion, but it feels more streamlined once you get into a rhythm. It’s definitely a higher price point, but I do think it’s worth it if you’re going to use it regularly and this is a look you’re consistently trying to achieve. For me, it’s been a solid investment and something I reach for often.
I like the hair dryer. It does provide volume, but the curl brushes did not work well on my hair. I have long medium thick hair. The curls did not hold even after using hair spray. I also didn't like that I had to change out left and right curl brushes. It already takes longer for me to style my hair and this set takes even longer. I'm returning the set. The cost is not worth it.
After checking with the seller if the dryer works with 240V they answered their stock is 240V.When the dryer arrived it says on the box 120V.So it is useless for me. Seller might changed the description now - however shipped knowingly the wrong product.
Doesn’t work in Saudi so annoying!!! Something about the electric
It was a big disappointment the voltage is too high in the uae. I bought it thinking it has dual motor but it doesnt, you need to buy a transporter to make it work
