Nice presentation box with magnetic flap. Knives are striking in their appearance. Very good looking. They're separated into a foam insert with custom cut outs, & the box has a magnetic flap closure. Each knife has 2 small plastic edge guards (covering the tips & bottom edges only), which is kind of annoying if you like to put blade guards on after using. It will be easy to lose these. Knives are nice & sharp out of the box, we'll see how they hold up. My husband was blown away when he opened this birthday gift. He cuts up a lot of fruits & veggies to juice, & was working with old hand- me- down kitchen knives. The only problem is that they're so pretty, he hardly uses them! I'm sure that will change with time, so I hope to update with performance & durability over time.

Ease of cutting.

The first thing to know about this knife set is that the "damascus" or folded steel look does not appear to be real. The giveaway that the pattern is etched (laser or chemical) or part of the forge stamping is that all three knives have the nearly *exact* same pattern, in all different sizes; and the knives in my box are *in fact identical* to the knives in the picture. As long as you do not expect the knives to be from folded and refolded steel, these are a nice set. Now the good stuff:* Razor sharp out of the box* Chef's knife and pairing knife are both good sizes, pretty well balanced with the handle; The larger flat knife (name?) is too. (It acts like a chef's knife, but presents a straighter instead of angled edge.)* Handles are very attractive, comfortable, wooden handle. (Similar in style and design to many knives currently ont he market.)Only time will tell how long they hold this razor edge, so will pdate this review if the edge-holding is sub par. Great product, very sharp and cuts smooth. I have enjoyed using these and have now purchased them as gifts for friends.

I have two dedicated professional knives I use daily; a 7” Wusthof Classic and an 8” Henckels (Zwilling); around $400 value. My son has been getting heavily involved with cooking and learning how to sharpen knives on a whetstone and figured he start with a cheaper set before using mine.I settled on this set since it since it included two other knives with the chef’s knife and had wood handles. The weight of the chef’s knife is decently balanced. I would prefer the thickness of the steel to be a bit more, which would also add a little weight (my preference) but for most people, it isn’t even a factor. The knives arrived well sharpened and so far, all 3 have performed really well. I really thought this was going to be a cheap, Wal-Mart type set but surprisingly, it is a nice set.

Knives are very sharp as stated. Feel to be very good quality. Beautiful finish, though not sure they’re actually forged Damascus. Come in a nice presentation box for storage. So far I’m very pleased with them.

These came in and the first thing I noticed was how comfortable they are in your hand. They're not too light, but not really heavy, but feel solid.They're made with quality materials.The only knock I have on them is that there's a nearly microscopic knurl on the edge of the blade. Once I removed that they were crazy sharp and have worked really really well!They take to an edge really well too. Great all-around kitchen knives. And a beautiful set with the handles a nice color.I don't really care about design on the blades in any way, but they have a good look to them as well.

These classy knives are super sharp and well made. (I didn't realize how dull my old knives were until we got these!) I like the grip of the handles and the weight is well balanced. The largest knife is bigger than I am used to, but comes in handy for something large like a watermelon or pumpkin. I find myself using the smallest knife more frequently.My only concern is that they are so sharp I feel like I am going to cut myself, but I suppose that is a healthy fear! The set comes in an attractive box that would be great for gift giving.
