I sometimes have issue with cleansers that foam, but this one doesn't cause my skin to become too dry as long as I keep up with my normal moisturizing routine (which is simply apply moisturizer after cleansing, sometimes with a toner in between and sometimes not). I like how thick the cream is that comes out, as I only have to use a little bit to get enough foam to give a thorough cleansing of my face. After using it for a while I am happy to report that it hasn't lead to an increase of redness or irritation, but seems to help keep my skin a little more balanced overall.

The Biotherm Aquasource Hydra Barrier Cleanser comes in a squeeze bottle, which makes it inconvenient to quickly wash my face because after I wash my hands I have to get my hands dirty again by twisting off the cap and squeezing a pea size amount of cleanser onto the palm of my hand. I can't even close the open bottle yet because my hand already has the cleanser on it. It isn't until after I wash and rinse my face can I finally twist the cap back onto the bottle. A pump would have been a better alternative.The cleanser doesn't have a smell and doesn't do well with water or wet hands. I just rub and massage the cleanser onto my face. There isn't a lot of soap suds. After rinsing the cleanser off, I literally feel like all my facial natural oils have been stripped off. My face feels really squeaky clean and a little dry.My teenage son who has oily skin likes the cleanser and has been using it for 3weeks now. We did not experience any adverse reactions.

I've been using this cleanser once a day at night for the last week. This creamy cleanser turns into a foamy lather once on your face. I splash my face with water then apply since the cream interacts with water to make the foam. The cleanser has a very light scent, not over powering at all. It hasn't seemed to dry out my skin at all. I apply a toner and moisturizer directly after cleansing though. This cleanser is not cheap, but so far I like it.

It might work better for someone with oilier skin, but for me, it just wasn’t worth the price.

This is a thick cream as it comes from the tube and it has a fine light creamy lather with water, not a fluffy bubbly lather. It has a nice faint scent as there is added fragrance as the last ingredient. I have sensitive combo skin and I find it a bit too much for mornings, since it can be a little on the stripping side for me. But in the evenings it's effective as part of a double cleanse. Overall it's a perfectly fine cleanser but there's nothing special about it to justify the price in my opinion.The ingredients are "glycerin, water, sodium cocoyl glycinate, glycol distearate, stearic acid, citric acid, niacinamide, hydroxyacetophenone, palmitic acid, caprylyl glycol, carbomer, jojoba seed oil, wheat seed extract, myristic acid, ceramide NP, chlorphenesin, Vitreoscilla Ferment, and fragrance." I don't know which of these are related to the Biotech Plankton it's trying to hype up. I searched about this ingredient and apparently it's "a patented probiotic". The only probiotic I see is the Vitreoscilla Ferment, which comes from the fermentation of the bacterium Vitreoscilla filiformis and is in a lot of other products. I don't know, I'm just confused and it feels like a lot of posturing and branding.
