I love this litter! We started using it for travel as it's flushable and easier than bringing bags on trips but it's now our full time litter. It clumps very fast and the clumps are solid enough that they don't break up into little pieces when agitated like clay litter can. There's no perceptible dust and the tracking is minimal, even with my long haired cat!I don't think my cat loves the texture, when we were still using clay he would choose the clay box nearly every time. He doesn't reject this litter though, we haven't had any issues with accidents since we've been using it full time. It doesn't seem to irritate his paws and his litter box behavior hasn't changed at all.I do think it's expensive, especially because you really need to purchase two bags at a time if you have an XL box. I have a 24" stainless steel box for my ragdoll and while one bag fills it, it does need to be topped off at least once a week so we're going through more like 1.5 bags every 30 days.It also requires a scoop with large slots, I use a speed sifter. The scoop that came with my box does work, but it requires a lot of agitation to separate the clumps from the pellets and I don't find that this litter is the best for poop odor control. I don't smell urine at all however.TLDR; this is my favorite litter but there's some compromise.

I empathize with everyone else who has tried 'every type of litter.' I have. Clay is a heavy smelly dusty dirty misery. The crystals were dusty and tracked like crazy, and so did all the 'natural' corn/walnut shell/et al products. Pellets are a huge improvement - but the wood pellets I tried disintegrated so readily that dust built up in the box within a couple days. Zeolite pellets were great - but you need the specialized box and pads - which weren't bad, BUT, a strong ammonia odor becomes prevalent after a couple weeks. SO at my son's suggestion I tried tofu pellets. I've sampled four brands, and they all performed about the same - dust is MINIMAL, tracking MINIMAL, odor MINIMAL (I have not used a scented variety), CLUMPING is great due to the starches added to these products - please note that the starches will cause the clump to stick to the box till the clump has a chance to dry a bit, after which the clump will pop off. But every clump diminishes the amount of litter left in the box, so be ready to replenish regularly! Tofu litter IS Expensive!!! I had to adjust my budget. But I am happy with the overall performance. Maybe it costs the companies a lot to source, produce & market. Anyway, this litter is a medium grey due to charcoal added for odor control so it does not look as 'pretty' as the whitish brands - but the charcoal is a good functional addition so I accepted the color.

Over the years we've tried them all, to include many expensive automatic box contraptions and pee pad drainage systems, but this litter in a plain ol' litter box is by far the best solution. My husband saw an ad on Facebook to try it out for free, and given our recent litter box frustrations, we thought - "Hmmm tofu? Sure, why not." -Our three cats took to it right away. We were also pleasantly surprised to see [and smell] that they all now bury their poo. So, I guess they quite enjoy doing their business in this litter as well.Selfishly though - it's great at: smell control to a point of almost nothingness, keeping the tracking down to nearly nonexistent, and clumping; making 1&2 waste disposal extremely easy. Our latest litter saga was with the purple-labelled pine pellet clumping kind. It was good, even though frustrating at times and a big time suck looking back, but given our time in testing litters over the years, we believed we had settled on the best one our money could buy. Then we tried Tuft+Paw, and discovered we were absolutely incorrect.Unlike clumping pine pellets, Tuft+Paw absorbs the urine immediately to form a clumped ball instead of disintegrating into a fine wet dust that takes time to harden. If the pine has a chance to harden, it's fine, no harm, no foul. But, this became a huge problem after we adopted our third cat. Even with multiple boxes they would still choose to share and would kick up each others messes before this drying process could happen. Tracking became a problem, smell became a problem, and contaminated unused litter pellets became a problem. To keep our wallets from hemorrhaging, we ended up having to sift the dust from the "clumping" litter every few days just to keep these problems at bay. We almost switched back to the regular farm bedding kind because we were basically dealing with the same issues that litter presents, but paying three times as much. But, thankfully, this litter came into our lives to save the day. Since switching, all of these problems seemingly vanished overnight. It now takes us no more than 3 mins per box each day to keep them tidy.Unlike clumping pine, one bag of Tuft+Paw lasts awhile because the unused pellets are not contaminated, so one just needs to replenish the pellets and do full box change when it starts to get a stinky [which after 15 days hasn't happened yet, and at this rate even with 3 cats, will probably exceed a month]. In this and on top of the aforementioned features and benefits of this litter, the price tag absolutely makes sense. We also signed up for the subscription service on their website, which knocks the price down quite a bit as well.If you are thinking about trying it because you like a clean house, and value your time, the health of your pets, and the environment, do it! I really can't recommend this litter enough!

I have a new kitten & was looking for a different/new option other than the breeze pellets I use for my older cat. This is a nice quality kitty litter. It’s hard to tell what you’re getting before you buy this litter but it reminds me of confetti you would see on top of cake or ice cream. My little kitten loves it. It’s soft for her little paws, there is no dust. I think it’s absolutely worth the money. It coats her little poo & I actually put a pet pad in the bottom of her box. The pad collects urine & makes it easier for me to keep clean. She jumps in & out of her litter box like it’s a game. Love it.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong here but my batch of 2 bags is not good on smell. It smells worse than Arm and Hammer, as well as Dr. Elsey’s Ultra. I would just turn my back on this cat litter — especially because 2 bags are lasting 1 month for my one cat — but there is no dust, and the tracking is negligible compared to the afore mentioned brands, and the clumping is so efficient that scooping time has been minimized significantly.2 bags per month is around $700 per year. If I could get rid of the smell I would probably bite the bullet and fork out the money. I’ll give the lavender flavor a try and see if it is less stinky…*Update 1/6/26: I decided against the lavender solution, opted for a more difficult but also more effective solution to be free of nasty stink. I have gone from scooping the litter box once a day to scooping 4 or 5 times a day, approximately one scooping for every time Cat uses the litter box. This would not have been feasible with the sand/clay products I was using previously. Even scooping once a day with those products was potentially quite time consuming because of how messy those products would get if Cat’s urine managed to seep down to the stainless steel bottom of the litter box.In those situations I would be scooping up some kind of mud that was stuck to the bottom of the litter box and would then stick to the scoop and clog up a lot of the scoop holes, and break apart into smaller chunks that would fall back into the litter box. And I would have to scoop/scrape the same section of floor of the litter box over and over again to make sure I got most of the muddy mess scooped up, and then figure out ways to clean mess off the scoop and unclog the holes. But this product is so amazingly efficient at clumping that I haven’t yet encountered a muddy mess like that after 46 days of using it. And though I scoop a lot more often, a scooping takes me about 1/2 or 1/3 the time as a scooping using the clay/sand products. One thing to note about the scooping, my original scoop did not work well with the elongated litter granules so I invested in the Tuft and Paw scooper, figuring they would have made sure it was fully compatible with their own kitty litter granules. And it is: you slide the scoop along the bottom of the litter box and it slides under a clump and picks it up, along with a shovel-load of unused granules, which you can promptly shake until the unused granules fall out of the scoop, leaving you with just the clump of cat waste. Like panning for gold, a little bit, maybe. The scoop is a big and solid and tough piece of plastic with a long handle, and I’m thinking the maker might have coated it with teflon or something similar because messy stuff almost always just slides right off the scoop with just a light tap against the wall of the litter box. It all adds up to scooping being magnitudes easier along with clumping being magically more efficient.Another note to make is that I have made the 2 original bags of kitty litter last for 46 days so far, though at this point it just barely covers the floor of the litter box in a thin layer. Cat deposits his waste in the box and then scrapes all the surrounding unused granules into a big mound on top of the waste. Another reason for scooping pretty much every time Cat uses the litter box, because by the time Cat builds his little mound, about half of the floor of the litter box has no sand on it any more.Though I was impressed enough to buy 2 more bags, I am not yet convinced enough to upgrade this product to 5 stars or to commit to it long term. I have definitely figured out that it probably doesn’t work to simply replace your old kitty litter with this new stuff, because the new litter works better with different scoops and different methods of scooping. It is a whole new ballgame.I still might not stay with this product, though I will have to get really fed up with frequent scooping before I will want to go back to the frequent vacuuming of clay/sand granules all over the house, and the muddy-mess clogged scoop holes and stray chunks all over the litter box. Will update again after these next 2 bags, especially if I can find a better solution regarding the smell.

I tried a few different kinds of kitty litter. One was from diatomaceous earth, subscription-based only - did nothing to reduce the scents. The other was the refillable one from Petco, very dusty. So dusty that all shelves and contents of my bathroom cabinets were covered with a thick layer, like never before. It was inexpensive, and caring for 2 cats who both use the bathroom often, it was a serious consideration. The thing with these two cats is that they got a habit of pawing at the walls around their litter box and their food plates. My walls happen to be covered with glass as a matter of design. So you can imagine - the walls as well as the cabinets were constantly covered with dust, requiring so much cleaning that I couldn't take it anymore. I finally decided to try this litter, and I'm so happy I did.Paying over 3 times as much as the Petco's litter became worth it in the short term, because there's no dust. NO DUST!! It's been a week and a half, my walls are clean, and so are the insides of the cabinets. There's barely any bits of litter on the floor, and the cleaning necessity has been reduced to maybe 10% of what it was before. There are also no offensive smells whatsoever, none. Everything smells clean and nice. The litter being flushable is another great feature. I love not having to collect the waste into a plastic bag and keeping it in the vicinity of the litter box. Now, as to how long it lasts. They say that 1 bag will last a month for 1 cat. I bought a pack of 2, to test for that. On the 8th day, I poured the last portion of the 1st bag into the litter box. It's been about 10 days, and it won't last 2 full weeks, so 2 bags will not likely last a month for these 2 boys. Again, my cats both are pretty hydrated, eat well and go to the bathroom often. So paying 3 times more for the convenience - is a hefty upgrade . I hope they can make their bag portions maybe 20-30% bigger, that would be helpful. The quality is great though. I will keep this litter for a while and see if I can make it work expense-wise.

Was so excited about this litter but it failed to control odor and I found it to be really messy and difficult to scoop. The clumping property dissolves so much litter that you go through it extremely quick when cleaning the litter box daily. There was very little tracking and I did appreciate that it flushed down the toilet so I think it could be great for apartment living. That said, idk why it’s so expensive and it was one of my least favorite litters I’ve bought so far

My daughter started using this a couple years ago for her cat, but I didn’t really bother to look into the litter. That was until I got a cat of my own. This litter is great! It clumps when they pee and it dries the poop for easy cleanup. There’s also minimal tracking, so I don’t have cat litter all over my house.I saw they recently created a new formula for their litter and I hope to try it out one I finish these bags.
