Love this printer so many options. You can print from anywhere in the home. You can use multiple devices to print. Easy setup and I suggest signing up for hp instant ink it definitely save money in the long run
Very good for the price point. The biggest plus is that it is not super tall and bulky like the other HP printers. More compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. Works 98 percent of the time for casual household printing needs. Finicky here and there but MUCH better than other HP printers. Colored screen is easier to read and can pivot. This is an honest review and I got nothing out of leaving this review.
Printer is only a few months old, so far works perfectly with great print quality and wifi functionality. HP required me to sign up for an automatic mail delivery program for ink cartridges, and the printer must stay powered on so it can 'phone home' every so often to report it's page count and ink supply -- then HP sends ink cartridges automatically. Very convenient, I suppose, but this is a home printer that gets sparse use and I fear we are going to be collecting a lot of expensive cartridges over time.
This printer is a win from HP. I have been an Instant Ink subscriber for well over 7 years now (with the same medium-use HP printer!) Because of a lightning strike/power outtage I kept getting a bad printhead warning on the screen and decided it was time for an upgrade. Found this one with the free year (and $100 off!) up to 700 pages/mo and thought that had to be for new subscribers only but it's not! After 7+ years I get a free year of ink! I subscribe to their paper as well so I synced that up for the year and I'm good to go. Before Instant Ink half the time I couldn't afford Ink in my printer, or would only buy black. I killed one printer I bought once with off-label ink- I still remember the awful noises it made. Then I discovered HP and Instant Ink. Now I print freely - all I want and they send me supplies as needed. Anyways- the printer. It took less than 3 minutes to set up with the on-screen guide the walks you through. You need your WiFi name and password and maybe a couple other simple pieces of information. The app on your phone (recommended) makes it easy to print from your Drive, etc. It has its own email address so you can send docs while you're away from home and they'll be waiting for you when you arrive (you can change the beginning to something simple to remember.) I struggle to set up printers on computers, etc but this one literally did it for itself. I almost expect it to have my coffee waiting for me one morning it's so intuitive, lol. You won't be disappointed with this printer! Give the Instant Ink a try while you're at it- you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
1. The printer will not print a hard copy unless connected. Remember the days when you could walk up to a HP printer, or any printer, for that matter, and print on demand a document that you put on the glass screen. Well those days don't exists anymore. HP is so concerned with validating the ink that even a simple print job is an app ordeal.2. Tried re-setting up wi-fi direct and wireless network.3. Printer got stuck on validating...thinking it would take a moment, I left machine do its thing. 8 hours later still validating.4. Used only HP cartridges bought directly from Amazon, no 3rd party con jobs5. Went to HP site for guidance, tried their various hard restarts, unplug, let sit, take out ink, gently cleaned ink and cartridge heads...blah blah blah. Nothing worked. Tried 8 times over two days.6. No way to update firmware on machine, 'cause it's stuck on validating. Updated app on computer, which could not find printer cause its stuck on validating. Went to their website, tried PIN, S/N#, PW, deleted desktop/and iphone apps, downloaded app, reset Wifi, tried HP's wifi direct, Google deep searches, apparently, the validating issue is a big one- comes up most often in list of reasons HP printers not working. ...you name it I tried it, including, last, but not least youtube videos in a desparate attempt to get printer working again.7. Each time the printer got stuck on validating.8. So frustrating! Thought I might be having a nervous breakdown.9. Took to garbage this morning, even though it had new cartridges.10. There are no words for the satisfaction I feel at getting rid of this junk, the constant anxiety of will it work this time, how many times to reset, reconnect to wifi, what will go wrong-I just want want copy to give to a student...all of this is now gone.11. I will never buy HP again, or another printer, for that matter. Why I put up with this machine for 3 years, I'll never know. Wait, I know...The devil I know vs. the devil I don't know. Try another brand or even another HP printer to be engulfed into another batch of issues...No thank you.12. I am fed up with HP and their non-consumer friendly business practices, all the hoops to use product including highly problematic firmware, all under the "guise" of giving the customer a good experience.13. Good experience? I think not. The printer has been problematic since day one. The only good experience I've had is getting rid of this junk and not replacing it.
I research about everything I buy these days. When looking for a new printer to replace my old Canon 5300 series(rest in peace old girl) I sat and read hundreds of reviews on all the major brands. Yes I have no life. More to the point I don't like to waste my money. I'm of the mindset to buy things right the first time. Before reviewing a product I put it through its paces and I'm bluntly honest in my reviews.I am a quilter and do a lot of paper pieced quilts. On average I print out 300ish pattern pages per quilt. The first month I had this printer I printed nearly 600 pages and that was just on the ink that came with the printer. My included pic is just the last months worth of printouts. I use full color and always the highest quality for my pages. I got the years worth of free instant ink with my purchase. My new cartridges were sent to me long before I ran out of the ink that came with the machine. A lot of the negative reviews I've read had to do with folks not caring for the instant ink subscription. They don't like the program yet they bought the HP anyhow. Frankly that says to me that they trust the printer. Otherwise they'd buy something else. Honestly I like the ink program. When I do have to start paying I definitely won't mind forking over the cash. It's better than going to the store or ordering online to buy cartridges that have less ink and higher costs than the instant ink carts. I also like that HP includes a recycling bag for your used carts and they pay the postage for it. It's nice that a company cares about our environment. This printer has never once jammed or spit out clumps of papers in the months I've had it. It's an excellent machine and a very quality product. Congrats HP. You got this one right.
I purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e Wireless All-in-One for my home office and, for the most part, it's a solid, reliable workhorse. Setup was a breeze using the HP Smart app, and I love the convenience of printing wirelessly from my phone or laptop. The automatic two-sided printing and auto-document feeder are big time-savers, and text documents come out crisp and fast.
I’ve had this printer for a few years now and it’s worked fine. If you buy genuine HP cartridges, the printer works fine. If you buy aftermarket cartridges, the printer gives you error messages that make the printer useless. I typically have no problem with buying HP cartridges however, in my last shopping endeavor, I found that HP cartridges were twice the price of non-HP cartridges, so I took a chance. The printer simply does not allow them. Now I either have to buy HP cartridges or buy a new printer. I find that frustrating. On principal, I believe that when I buy a printer I should be able to do what I want with it but HP disagrees. I will not buy HP in the future.
Easy to setup, great all-year support for ink refills, amazing quality of printed documents and wifi connection to easy print from any device!
Easy to set up, works great!
Similar to 8035 but slightly slower response time
This is the worst printer I have ever used in my life. It will not print 8.5 x 11 paper - the tray will not lock in place for letter size - jams every time you try to print. I can print legal no problem but everytime you change the tray to print letter it won’t lock for the paper size and keeps feeding all the pages through.
Great purchase.
