Since I also have a small bathroom, that review almost caused me to nix this product -- I'm so glad I read further reviews by a couple of people who also have small bathrooms and liked the product and decided to order it and try this out.Like the author of that negative review, I have a small bathroom. I don't have tons of room around the bathroom sink, though there is some -- enough to hold my current toothbrush holder and other items. I don't have a medicine cabinet, so much that would be tucked away in one is relegated to the sink top, 2 small drawers, toilet tank top (hair stuff in containers there and one glass jar holding my brush, a few other items & my toothpaste) & one under-sink cabinet.I was spurred to get a new toothbrush holder by two things -- I discovered a little mold on my cheap lucite holder, causing me to immediately toss it. And I was sick of finding hair on my toothbrushes, which was partially due to storing my toothpaste tube next to my hairbrush. It also seemed unsanitary to me, even if it was a capped tube of toothpaste. I went to Amazon looking for a toothbrush holder that would also house my toothpaste, and this is what I found. The first review I read, though, was that terribly negative review written by someone who also has a small bathroom. That discouraged me. But then I read "GREAT TOOTHBRUSH ORGANIZER" and "Keeping Toothbrushes Germ Free," both titles of reviews here, and both people with small bathrooms who are happy with the product.Well, count me another with a small bathroom who loves this product! The spot I had for it measures a mere 4 inches from the wall to the sink -- it fits there perfectly. I situated it so it opens parallel to the wall and I have zero problem opening the lid. I also have not had the problems with the thing tipping when I have the lid open -- it's been perfectly stable. And I've no problems with it sliding around, as described in that negative review. It's been 100% stable since my first use (I've had it for about a month now).I'm not a Dr. Oz watcher and had not heard about the large amount of bacteria spraying in the bathroom, but was thrilled to come here and read that it was recommended by him for sanitary purposes, so that adds to my pleasure with the product. I'm not some high income person who buys frivolous things and "must" have stainless steel products....I look for reasonably priced items that provide solutions for my needs, and this one fits the bill. I don't find the price unreasonable -- for about $20 I got an excellent product that absolutely filled the bill for what I needed. I highly recommend this product.
This is exactly what we needed. We get "stink bugs" & "bean beetles" due to living in a very rural area & when the fields are harvested the bugs move out & into our homes. We do not care to have the little critters crawling on our toothbrushes nor do we care to have "field dust" settle on the brushes. This toothbrush organizer is perfect protection. There is room for toothpaste & 4 brushes. (We have 2 brushes in ours) There are little "fingers" to hold the brushes upright, so they do NOT touch each other. I do wish we could get another toothpaste tube in it, however there is not quite enough room. No biggie-I use the drawer for mine. It is quite big so if you are limited on space, you might be sure to measure. One very important thing is-it is well ventilated, both top & bottom. It also drains (out of the bottom). Nothing else we found for toothbrush storage was ventilated & we thought it was important so the brushes can dry. It's a nice "stainless" & looks nice on the sink. It's easy to keep clean with a quick wipe with a soft cloth. We are well pleased to have this protection for our brushes & highly recommend-it's worth the money. :-)
Perfect for travel. Very stable and wont crack like the plastic travel cases. More hygienic to keep in here due to the excess of ventilation that helps eliminate moisture before mildew or mold can appear. Very good value for the price and it is stable to put on hotel counter tops while traveling too so very functional
Neat little thing, its about 3" in diameter, and a good 10" tall (I didn't measure)Either way, I really like it, the center part for your toothpaste keeps it out of the way, and if you know someone with long hair that does use the sink, you might notice that hair gets stuck in the cap of the toothpaste sometimes (or maybe I was just really unlucky growing up)Because the toothpaste goes into container, gets used, and gets reinserted, it stays clean, it's also really spacious, I use sensodyne for my sensitive front teeth, and the tubes are pretty weird, screw on cap, but as wide as the tube itself. (Think as wide as a crest or colgate tube, about 1.5" diameter) Still fits in there nicely. Then there are the little.cavities for the toothbrushes, there are 4, and each COULD hold more than one brush, but most people aren't fond of their brushes touching, so lets assume its for 4 people. About an inch down the cavity, there is a bunch of supple rubber hands that hold the brush firmly in place. The top folds open 90 degrees, and closes easily it all looks very clean and pretty when closed, which is nice, and it keeps stuff off the sink.It even has a weighted bottom so it doesn't really move when you open the top.The only complaint I have, is if you have a really small sink, it really doesn't fit on the sink well I'd like to think it's mostly made for a sink counter. Still, it keeps everything nice and clean, and out of the way. Also, looks nice. Really hard to complain.
I really like this organizer, it has plenty of space for mine and my boyfriend’s oral hygiene products—our brushes, scrapers and toothpaste! Since we share a bathroom with our roommate, this organizer helps keep our stuff protected and out the way of theirs, and also helps with keeping it clean in case it’s knocked off the counter! It’s not too heavy, but also not light and cheaply made. It goes well with our bathroom, and it’s in constant use! Very good value for what I paid for it!
This is a great product especially if you’re a germaphobe like me. Think about all of those flushes by people who don’t put the seat cover down and all the bits of toilet water containing bacteria and microscopic particles in the air being flung around (look it up—it’s gross). I only have two toothbrushes in mine but it should work very well even if it’s filled. The toothbrushes standing upright also allows for them to dry better. I also keep my toothpaste in it. Would definitely recommend. POO PARTICLES!!
I got this because I was sick of my toothbrush brushing against my husband's in our regular stand, plus I thought it'd be nice to have the brushes protected from sink spray, bathroom germs, etc. This does both of those things--the little "tentacles" in each of the 4 containers keeps the brush upright so it doesn't fall against the others. The toothpaste slot is nice and roomy and will fit any tube. There are a few bad things about this, though. First, it's huge--yes, I read the dimensions, but I didn't realize just how huge it was until I saw it on my counter. The negative review is right about needing clearance behind it so the top has somewhere to go when it's open. It's not a huge deal for me but if you have an extremely tight space, keep in mind that you'll have to keep this a few inches away from the wall. Second, the brushed stainless is nice but yes, it can attract fingerprints like all stainless steel can. This can be avoided by using the white plastic thing to open and close the lid. Third, this is not a good fit for electric toothbrushes. My husband's is pretty small compared to most motorized brushes, but it still is too wide to fit in any of the slots. Yes, it would fit in the toothpaste slot, but a) that defeats the purpose of being able to store the toothpaste in this and b) there are no grips in that compartment, leaving his toothbrush free to fall against mine---which is the whole point of me getting this!Bottom line--if you are fine with the above negatives, this is a good storage solution. Just keep in mind that it's HUGE--my husband just got back from a trip and said "What is this coffee canister doing in our bathroom?" But it does keep the brushes safe from spray and germs, and looks nice (albeit dominating) on a counter.UPDATE: After a month, I have to say I'm taking another star away from this product. I didn't realize when I got it just how much the stainless steel would show EVERYTHING. I know that all stainless steel does this and I shouldn't be surprised, but I guess I thought using the little white lid would keep it clean. That does keep fingerprints off it, but this shows any tiny water mark from sink spray, or from if your toothbrush drips a bit while you're putting it back (yes, I shake my toothbrush to get excess water off, but sometimes there's still some). Most people probably wouldn't care, but I hate how it looks dirty no matter how many times I wipe it down. And let's be honest, who wants another thing to clean in the bathroom? I wish it were a dark plastic, or coated or something. If you're at all OCD about cleanliness, especially if you share the bathroom with other people (who may not be as careful as you are about getting water marks on this), I'd say go with something else!
This is the best toothbrush organizer I’ve found! I’ve had a few different ones in the past that didn’t have proper ventilation, which caused mold and defeated the purpose of keeping the toothbrushes clean in the first place. This organizer is the perfect size, it’s sealed well, and has the necessary ventilation to make sure the toothbrushes dry properly while staying clean. It also has some weight to it so it’s not easily knocked over unlike some other ones I’ve had that haven’t been as sturdy. I can also fit a little disposable cup on top of my toothpaste in this organizer, which is perfect so it stays clean just like the toothbrushes.
