my dog was fifteen years old and a lhasa breed. she was my constant companion and best friend. she always looked very thin to me and the vet even commented that she was underweight. when we lived in minneapolis we had three of her teeth pulled. we have always been feeding her dry dog food. the vet told us that she was at least a pound and a half underweight and to be honest she didn't seem to have much of an appetite. i finally put two and two together and thought that maybe her teeth were hurting when she ate the hard food. i discovered wellness senior formula at a local pet store. i bought one can just to see if she liked it. well, she devoured the whole can in one sitting. needless to say i was probably slowly starving my dog to death. i ordered a case from amazon (the price was $5.00 a case less) and my dog has gained a pound and a half. this is a very good product and i would recommend it regardless of the cost.

My dog loves this food and my vet was also on board with it as a nice natural option. The price is fine, but for $34 the cans do not have a pop top opening/pull tab ...So you have to always have a can opener on hand whenever you use this food. Wellness is a great brand so this is surprising. I’m hopeful they will add the pop top style cover soon.

We have been feeding our dog this canned food along with Wellness complete kibble. She loves both and is very healthy.

We have all seen the commercial with dogs old and lazy and they eat something new or take supplement and it changes them. Here is the deal, I was gifted some Wellness brand food and gave it to my 12 year old German Shepard Mix. She was getting slower, sleeping more and just starting to really wind down. This food from the first can changed her. She stopped itching, starting playing again and it truly increased her endurance on walks. She even gets up faster and chases squirrels periodically. Had you told me I would be spending 3+ dollars per can on dog food a month ago I would say you were crazy, but it just seems wrong not give it to her with such an obvious change in her well being!

I've been using this Wellness Senior canned dog food for about 1 year. Yesterday I found a piece of rubber in the next to the last can I opened from a case of 12 cans. Unfortunately I do not know which of the three cases I ordered on the same day is the right case but I've included photos of the lot number, expiration date & UPC code. The piece of rubber is stretchable, about 2" long & about 1"-1 1/2" wide, black, see pics. I just want others to be aware of this. There's nothing in the ingredients that should be the color black so I'd not use it if you see this also.

Another good product from Wellness. We mix Wellness Core and Wellness senior formula for our 9 year old little guy. Have tried many different holistic dog food brands, Wellness is still the best in terms of price, quality, taste, ingredients and even the appearance of packaging. Have recommended Wellness to many friends with dogs, they all find the products satisfactory. The only other brand can rival Wellness is Orijen, which is also a great dog food but they only offer dry ones.

I admit it- I made our 10 year old Golden Retriever fat. I think it happened so gradually that I was shocked when my son visited and asked, "Are you trying to blow up Dodger?!". So I ditched the cheap wet food and combine this wet (2 tablespoons twice daily) mixed well with 2 cups of the Costco dry senior weight management dry kibble WITH lots of chopped carrots, cucumbers, red peppers and zucchini (our vet's suggestion to bring the bulk he likes without the carbs!). I'm proud to say he has lost 26 pounds in 8 months (slow and steady). He is now running and walking with ease!

We've gotten a couple shipments with far far too much fat in the cans. Some do, some dont. Definitely a manufacturing issue.

We have a golden retriever that has just turned 9 years old. I purchased this food because it is low in fat and much better for her than the canned food you purchase from the grocery store. She loves it.

It tasted like it had been burnt and my dog wouldn’t eat it at all. Back to the other food I guess.
